After All Might's battle with All For One, the symbol of peace disappears without a trace. The hero system falls, the media attacks Heros that being a Hero isn't an option anymore.Years later, Todoroki Shouto is overworked from working two jobs and attending a local college. After his "Hero" father leaves his family to mend on their own, Todoroki does his best to support his family even if it means abandoning everything else. Until a certain green haired wannabe detective starts appearing more and more often and Todoroki doesn't know why his heart keeps thumping.
Midoriya Izuku never developed a Quirk but still holds the values of the Old Heros close to his heart. As a lowly community police officer, he is working to be promoted to the Special Investigations unit to join the forces to find the Old Heros that disappeared over the years. But, studying is hard when a cute barista starts to smile more around him and he can't stop thinking about his pretty face at night.

Objectively she wasn't wrong about that. His eyes stung. It was different for him though. Four years ago he stayed in the Cloud Recesses for the guest lectures and was thrown out by Lan Qiren in the end. How would he survive living there?
Or: Wei Wuxian marries into the Lan Sect expecting to be miserable but slowly learns to make it and the people of the Lan Sect his home. And maybe he'll even get to keep it for once.

Kaveh used to think that Alhaitham had mastered the art of ignoring him. The man would remain unflappable as he continued to read his worn copy of The Origins of Enkanomiyan Language, even when Kaveh was a hair’s breadth away from shattering the windows of their house with his severity of pitch.
No amount of screaming, threats to throw things, or violently waving in front of him could get Alhaitham to pause in his thirst for knowledge. As it turns out, Alhaitham literally just turns his hearing aids off so he doesn’t have to listen to Kaveh.
It’s for this exact reason that Kaveh has decided to learn Sumerian Sign Language.
