Summary
“Anyway, it’s my turn again. Truth or dare.”
“No more dares for me, knowing how your brain works. I’ve learned my lesson. Truth.” Will wouldn’t have admitted it, but he felt excited, this game was kinda fun after all. Mike threw the stress ball into the air and caught it.
“Hm… okay. Have you kissed anyone yet?”
Will’s heart seized up.
What?

Summary
Will’s face, barely visible in the dark of night— the theater had closed just a few minutes ago, removing the neon glare of the entrance signs and leaving only the parking lot lights to illuminate Will’s beauty. It was enough for Mike, however. Seeing just the slope of his nose and the curve of his lashes broke his heart into a million and one pieces, over and over again. As Will prepared to respond, Mike’s gaze flickered down to his pink, dampened lips, stained from the cherry Icee he'd had earlier. He was incomprehensibly, ineffably, beautiful.
Mike Wheeler wants to know why Holly's cute art teacher is acting so strange around him.

Summary
Panic begins to run through his veins, speeding up his pulse and his breathing. “I can’t– why don’t I remember it? I don’t remember any of it.”
Mike blanches. “Any of what, Will?”
Jonathan’s hand is on his knee. Both of them are too close. He can’t breathe.
“The Upside Down. I… I can’t remember any of the Upside Down.”

Summary
"Tears stained the end of the letter. The Love flowed out. Mike didn't plan to write it. He had to reread it to even realise that he couldn't just sign off the letter like that. On another reread, Mike had also decided he couldn't send it to Will. And Mike stood by it. This was too much. Mike just wanted things to stay the same. Just to be normal.
So Mike tucked it between two cushions in Castle Byers and left, trying not to let the tears flood out. He didn’t want to have to explain that to Holly. This way, by fixing by Castle Byers, and by leaving the letter there, Mike would’ve fixed their friendship. At least, to himself."

Summary
“Oh, come on,” Will says, struggling to keep his voice neutral in a different way. His mouth is dry, and he hates Mike for it even more. “Is this what it’s going to be like this summer?”
Mike looks back at him, considering, lips pursed in an effort to shut down the smirk that Will knows is fighting to break free. Will doesn’t dare to let his gaze catch there, focusing instead on holding Mike’s stare, because this, too, is a game.
Five years into a rivalry with bittersweet origins, the only thing Mike and Will want is to beat each other at this summer’s camp counselor competition. But being back at camp is dredging up old memories, and as Mike and Will lose momentum and gain something else entirely, it becomes increasingly clear that one summer can change everything.

Summary
Falling tens of stories down to his death, watching as the lights of the city pass by in a blur, Mike wonders if his downfall was giving up on Will, or in reality, unconsciously not giving up on him at all.
or
Befriending masked vigilante Spider-Man wasn’t on Mike’s bucket list. His whole plan for his last year of high school was to keep his head down, balance the rest of his studies with his duties as the head of the school newspaper, and pretend like he still isn’t mourning the loss of his friendship with Will Byers.
So when Spider-Man saves him one night, he thanks him and gets on with the rest of his life. But then Mike sees him again, and again, and suddenly Mike wants to keep seeing him because there’s just something that reminds him of Will. And if all he can have are these small moments where he sees his ex best friend in a stranger —
Well, Mike would rather have that than nothing at all.

Will is Spider-Man. Mike is oblivious.

And you? What about you? Mike wants to ask.
As if Will hears him, he says, “I don’t think I could live without you.”
