It’s a Friday afternoon when the department springs the latest girl on her.
Well - woman, probably. She seems about Jade’s age, and Jade’s sure she’s perfectly qualified for whatever it is that her job entails. Jade has in fact been assured, by the head curator in one particularly dark spot in the endless blur of staff meetings, that she has excellent credentials. She’s qualified to support Jade in marketing, public relations, and knowledge translation. Well. The wings are…unexpected.
Strangely though, the fact that this woman has wings is not the thing that pulls at Kara’s attention the most. This close, Kara can better hear the intricacies in her mournful, tuneless melody. The warm, colourful pockets of imperfection in her voice. Kara wants to nestle into them and just listen, on and on until the end of time.
