“So you like him?” Max asks, her screen shaking a little as she reaches for something outside Mike’s range of view.
Mike frowns at the FaceTime screen, hugging his pillow to his chest and squirming further under his blankets. “He’s nice,” he says petulantly, and Max’s face pops back into view to give him an unimpressed look. “He’s a good roommate.”
“That’s not what I meant and you know it,” Max says, in her typical Max tone, equal parts vehemence and poorly disguised fondness. “I personally witnessed you DM this guy after like five seconds of looking at his bio post after weeks of agonizing over your roommate selection.”
Mike winces, glancing around the empty dorm in case Will has somehow materialized in the room in the past thirty seconds without him noticing. “That’s not what happened,” he says, though it’s not not what happened, “I liked his vibe.”

Hudson rubbed at his chest absentmindedly. "So uh," he started, eyes trailing over Connor as he took the final drag of his cigarette and put it out on the concrete. "In the least judgmental way possible, is this a thing for you?"
Connor looked over at him and squinted. "In the least judgmental way possible?" he laughed. "What are you talking about?"
Hudson raised his brows and shifted towards him, reaching over to press his palms over Connor's chest. "This."
"Ah." Connor sighed and lifted one of his hands to circle one of Hudson's wrists. "Why?"
"Dude, you grab my tits like every chance you get," Hudson laughed softly and dropped his hands to Connor's thighs. He massaged the muscles, knowing Connor did a leg heavy workout after they finished filming despite the fact that they were doing hockey scenes the next day. A satisfied groan slid past his lips as he trailed his hands over Hudson's arms, resting a palm over one of his forearms.
"I mean, it's a good chest," he shrugged.

Mike caps the cup and slides it across the pickup counter to Will, following it up with a wrapped straw and his wrapped lemon loaf immediately after. “Medium iced chai with oat milk and brown sugar syrup, and a lemon loaf for yellow flannel guy!”
Will grabs his straw, shooting a disapproving look at Mike as he carefully unwraps it. “Remind me to never wear this flannel in public again.” He grabs his drink, slipping his straw into it with steady hands.
“Nah, it looks nice on you. Don’t let me stop you, Just Will.” Mike is grinning so hard his face hurts. He’s more awake than he was previously, most of his exhaustion washing away throughout this interaction.
Will sighs, his cheeks going slightly red at Mike’s compliment, bringing his straw to his pink lips and taking a small sip. Mike watches Will’s gaze travel down to Mike’s chest, his eyes stopping on his name tag for only a second before they dip slightly lower. His lips quirk up into a small smile as he swallows his sip of chai. “I like your pin, by the way.”

Mike works at the on-campus coffee shop and Will really likes iced chais.

“Hi,” Will blurts out before he can stop himself, and he can feel his cheeks heat up in embarrassment so quickly it must be unhealthy somehow. “Uh -“
The guy shuts his phone off and reaches up to his ear to pull out an earbud. He shoots Will a grin, which does not help the whole blushing-crimson thing. “Hey,” he says coolly, and Will admires his composure while he wills the earth to collapse beneath him.
The guy quirks an eyebrow at Will when he doesn’t look away, then seems to take in his slightly disheveled and paint-stained appearance - he’d had his painting and drawing class just before he’d gone home, and had managed, as he always does, to get paint everywhere - because his smile grows a little softer, a little fonder. His shoulders relax against the bench, and Will lets out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. “You get sexiled?”

Today, though, is different, because today, Will is feeling incredibly grateful to have this job. All of a sudden he doesn't mind the sweeping and the dusting and the restocking shelves with books that, quite frankly, aren't to his own taste in any way whatsoever, aside from the tiny comic book section tucked away in the darkest part of the store. He's grateful for the silence and the boredom and the wasting his phone battery scrolling through the Instagram accounts of people he doesn't know or care about.
Because the thing is, if Will didn't have this job, he would have never had the opportunity to lay eyes on the very attractive guy that just walked in, and that, in and of itself, is enough to make him feel, vaguely, like his entire life is complete.

“Wow,” Will breathes out, just on this edge of teasing. “You sound very confident about this.”
“Well,” Mike shrugs, swallowing hard in a desperate attempt to soothe his very, very dry mouth, “I don’t know why someone wouldn’t be interested in you.”
“Oh?” Will says, and it’s definitely teasing now, enough for Mike to feel himself turning warm, all down his neck and to the tips of his own – sadly unpatterned – socks. “Someone?”
“Yeah.” Mike nods. Oh, god. This is fine. “In a very arbitrary sense of the word. Just– people. Someone.”
Mike is approximately ninety-eight percent sure that his feelings are requited. That last two percent, however, has really been throwing him for a loop.

The first time it happens, Will classifies it as a little accident.
When he wakes, the morning sun is burning through the window onto their faces, and Mike’s cursing as he stands to close the curtains, stumbling all the way.
“Scoot over,” he grumbles, voice dry, and for a second Will can’t do anything other than sigh like a lovesick idiot. It’s a second too late for Mike, because he grumbles more words Will doesn’t catch under his breath and then physically pushes Will towards the wall to lay beside him, arm over Will’s middle. A second of silence passes, then Mike sighs, only to whine: “Fuck, my head hurts.”
Will can’t help it: he breaks down laughing, much to Mike’s offense.

The only problem: Armand is fucking freezing.
