Summary
“And— you were always this. You were always a, a vampire.”
Matt’s eyes tear up from where he’s sprawled on the couch. His pallor is almost sickly, now that Foggy’s looking closer, but it could also just be all the blood loss.
“It sounds bad,” Matt whispers. “It sounds bad, but I would never hurt you. I would never hurt you, or Karen. I’d starve myself first.”
His pleading tone barely registers—Foggy can only hear the confirmation of a terrible truth.

Summary
Foggy and Karen aren’t an infection. If anyone’s hurting people in this relationship, it’s him, by being unable to resist the siren call of company every time, by always trying to have things he can’t have. But he supposes Stick would propose the same solution either way.
The crackle of wind past Matt’s ear, as he stands motionless in the street, sounds like a hoarse voice. Stop being a pussy, Matty, and pick up the knife.
Soon. They’ll decide he’s not worth all this trouble soon.

Summary
Before Ethan, it had been just him, Evie, and their grandmother. Obviously they’d competed, but nothing like they did later on, when every word of praise to Evie and look of disapproval to Jacob felt like the driving force of the rift growing fast between them.

Summary
He doesn’t know what he looks like, anymore. The most detailed descriptions of himself he gets nowadays come from the warnings passed nervously between the men he hunts from beneath the rippling barrier of the river’s ceiling: long, scaled, horned. (Horned?) Sharp teeth, dark eyes, monstrous face. Don’t go near the water if you can.
Something impossible lurks in the waters of the Hudson. Foggy Nelson is about to get an up close and personal encounter.

Summary
Alright.
Matt will admit that he fucked up.
He stranded himself far from the Hudson, which isn’t normally too much of an issue. He has legs, and he’s been doing this routine for years now: turning himself human, shoving on the clothes he smuggled some time ago, and generally wreaking havoc upon the shittier people of Hell’s Kitchen. Which, to understanding, appears to be a large majority. Living alone in the murky depths of the Hudson listening endlessly to the worst of the world will do that. It’s hard to have perspective on the moments of levity when the evil is so much of that: evil.
