You’re sure there’s another reason to why he’s called “Soap”. Because the more you try to hold on to him, the more he slips from your grasp.
The air is thick until you hear him laugh, you think you heard it wrong, so you look at him. It is sudden and startles you shortly, sharp with something you couldn’t name.
He leans back slightly, letting his aching muscles rest when he looks at you.
“Didnae think I’d survive all tha’ just’a flinch a’ my own pet.” His tone is light, teasing and cruel because he pretends it isn't.
You open your mouth again, there were no words to say, that you could say, you correct . He only laughs cruelly, shaking his head. “m jokin’.” He mutters, brushing past you. “Christ.”
He gives you the knife and calls it a kiss.
