Dan thinks he’s absolutely the most beautiful thing. He had been as much through a screen, but here, in person, it’s so much better. Dan can see every freckle, splattered like paint from a brush across Phil’s arms and along his back. He can see every laughter line on his face, every auburn strand of hair that has missed the touch of blue-black dye. For the first time, he is allowed to see Phil just as he is. Just as everyone else who had the privilege before Dan came around had seen him.
If Dan gets his way, and he usually does when it comes to Phil, no one else will ever be granted permission to see him like this again.

They’ve spent their first evening together bathing in each other's company, after waiting months to finally just be able to touch, and Dan thinks this might be it for him.
After all, all he has ever wanted is to be adored.

Dan looks radiant now. Out of breath, all red cheeks and messy hair. Hair that has slightly curled at the edges under the moisture that hangs in the air. Phil is careful not to look at the whisper of ringlets too much, afraid that Dan might try to hide them from him. Tiny snowflakes rest on strands of his fringe, sitting gracefully on his eyelashes and dusting his cheeks. They sparkle when they catch the light, each individual snowflake its own unique blessing on his soft features.
Phil has never been more taken aback by the magnificence of somebody, somebody so beautiful and just for him.

Or Phil finally tells Dan the three little words that have been threatening to burst out of him at any minute. Oh, and it's snowing.
