Kendall’s stomach churns with anticipation. He knows Stewy well enough to know that’s an opening, not a real goodnight.
“Okay, sure. Sounds good. Uh, I mean, unless—”
“Unless?” Stewy says, turning to look at him for the first time.
“Yeah, uh, I have a room here for the night, just seemed easier than—anyway. If you wanted to come back with me to my room. For a nightcap. We could—do that. Instead of you heading out.”
Stewy nods, acts like he’s considering it. While he’s pretending to think, Kendall drains the rest of his glass and winces at the sting of too much whisky in his throat.
“Sure,” Stewy says after a moment. “Why the fuck not.”
