There’s an uneven number of students on the first day of their senior health class’ infamous ‘flour baby’ assignment, and Chrissy is supposed to raise her hand to tell the teacher that she wants to work with Jason. He’d be her partner anyway, if he wasn’t missing class today with the rest of the basketball team.

He’d let himself get hopeful once, wondering what would happen if Sokka told him he was jealous. That he wanted Zuko in the way they got him But it never came, and it never changed. So he’d learned to avoid the topic altogether. “Remember Mai? Or Jet? You freak out and don’t talk to me.”
Fuck.

She shushed him, putting her finger to his lips, which he grabbed ahold of and placed a small kiss. She smiled, and then looked at him very seriously in a way that made him nervous.
“Sokka, something happened with me and Zuko, too.”
And okay, that he didn’t expect.
Or, Zuko has been pining for Sokka since they kissed at the Boiling Rock. He's been pining after Suki since she became his head guard. They didn't realize how much they needed him, but once they figure it out there's no going back.

It's hard to keep a straight face at that.
Clark's lips curve into a fond smile as he chuckles and shakes his head, leaning back against his seat, a hand rubbing across the nape of his neck.
"Yeah. Maybe I have. The coffee's great here. And the company is really nice." Clark offers a smile as he meets Bruce's eyes, holding his gaze for a beat too long before returning it to his pie.
He doesn't miss the way Bruce's heart rate stutters at his comment.
