Summary
“There are three suitors who you can romance in this game. You must complete all your requirements with one of them."
“Who are the three potential suitors?” Kaveh asks warily.
“Your three suitors are Tighnari, the blunt Palace Chamberlain; Cyno, the standoffish Captain of the Royal Guard; and Al-Haitham, the acerbic Duke of Vultur Volans.”
There's a new invention from the Yae Publishing House that turns a user's dreams into light novel stories. Kaveh has the (un)fortunate pleasure of being one of its first users.
Too bad it dumped him in a romance game.

“What do you do with the flowers?”
Al-Haitham paused. “What do you mean?”
“Like, what do you do with the flowers you cough up? Do you keep them or…?”
He furrowed his eyebrows. “What—why would I keep them? I obviously throw them away. Why are you asking?”
“I was just wondering—I mean if you’re not using them—like, if I could possibly…have them?”
Al-Haitham stared at him incredulously. “You want my unrequited love flowers?”
“Yes?” Kaveh flushed red. “Since…since you’re not using them.”
Since you’re not using them—
“What the hell would I be using them for? What the hell are you using them for?”
Al-Haitham has Hanahaki disease and coughs up mourning flowers. Kaveh asks if he can use them for his ascension materials.

Summary
“How unfortunate for you to have someone that cares about your wellbeing.”
Kaveh laughed. “Is that what it is now? I wasn’t just disturbing your sleep?”
“Believe what you like.” It was both. Unfortunately for Alhaitham, he did care about Kaveh’s wellbeing, which is why he chose to do things like this. But it seemed no matter how often Alhaitham explicitly stated this, Kaveh would brush it off. It was a dance they had done for years, and Alhaitham didn’t make any more effort to make Kaveh understand he was serious. Kaveh wouldn’t believe him, or he would choose not to. It wouldn’t change anything if Kaveh believed it. Alhaitham would still be going through the motions of getting him to sleep in his bed on nights like this. They would still be having the same arguments. This was just another thing that had become a fact for Alhaitham about his life. Alhaitham cared about Kaveh. He would continue to care about him and for him, and Kaveh would continue to dismiss it. This was a fact that Alhaitham had learned to accept, ignoring the annoying twinge of pain that came with it.

Summary
For the three months of his residence in the Abyss, it was lights out for him once the “sun” fell, no matter the eerie gusts of wind passing along the sound of dying screams, the waves crashing harshly against the shore, somehow both near and far away, the crescendoing high note of sharp claws being dragged against stone—
It was only on the last day of his time spent in the Abyss that Ajax eventually gave in to the haunting siren call.
He doesn't know what happened next.
(Things that go bump in the night have a nasty habit of sticking around. Childe wishes that this wasn't true.)

Summary
“I figured it out about a month before graduation.”
When Oikawa explains this, they are sitting together in a boat in the middle of Lake Pichola, India, hiding at the end of the fourteenth century with no one to bother them. Hajime sifts his hand through the water to cool his face while Oikawa pauses to collect himself, sights fixed on the royal blue of an emerging night sky. He holds two fingers up to the yellowed moon, pinches it into forced perspective, and palms it completely to force the light out of his eye. At the view, he smiles like he’s defeated all the knowing gods, the fates and their fickle futures, and humbles himself from the stratosphere.
“You know the story, Iwa-chan,” Oikawa tells him, back on earth. “Boy jumps to Miyagi in attempt to run away. It is raining, when he meets another, and they are both five years old. Neither of them can decide if he is from years past, or years to come. Hell, he could be a monster, for all they know.”
