Letting go of her cigarettes, Nat lowers her clutch back down to her side, and steps away from the bar of the door. “What are you talking about? Adam is dead.”
Misty wrinkles her nose and shakes her head. “Well, yeah,” she scoffs, a soft smile starting to spread. “But Adam couldn’t have done it.”
or, Misty and Natalie hit the road to find Travis's killer, have some conversations, and commit a few crimes. (Well, 7, if we're being technical.)

“Let me guess,” Natalie snorts. “You’re in some kind of silk teddy that men just go crazy for,” she scoffs over the last word. But her fingers drift down her belly to tug at the band of her fishnets.
Misty almost lies again and agrees. But Natalie doesn’t sound impressed by the idea, and Misty has no need for what anyone else would go crazy for. “Would you go crazy for that?”

"Caligula likes it when I read to him before bed,” Misty said, as if it was normal to read to a bird at night like it was a small child. “And he loves listening to music with me in the morning. Don’t you, Caligula?”
Nat had watched mystified as the little grey parrot squawked and nodded at his owner.
(And if Nat had agreed to this because she wanted to see more of this incredible behavior from a bird, then that was something she chose to keep to herself.)
