Summary
Wangho has always been a very bad liar.
He loved to do it though. He'd tell Jongin that he forgot his wallet whenever they go out for drinks while batting his eyes, and Jongin would cuss him out and demand they pay 50/50. He'd deny ever saying bad words while being interviewed to save face while Jaehyuk insisted that Wangho had the foulest mouth he had ever encountered. He'd tell Kyungho he was happy as a single man and he really couldn't see himself getting married. He insisted that he never did. Not now, not ever.
But there was a point in Wangho's life, when he was 27 and thriving, that he would eye engagement rings instead of watches, with a certain teammate in mind.
Wangho is 34 and grieving year-old decisions.

Peanut doesn't get fazed at the jab, like he's heard it countless times before. Instead, he eyes Dohyeon, taunting and alluring.
“I'm definitely not on hubby's level, though.”

“Why can't you sleep?” Dohyeon asks, his voice almost close to a whisper. Wangho takes a while to respond, his gaze glued to the ceiling as if he's contemplating what to say.
“I don't know. I don't like how the walls don't listen to me when I talk.”
Dohyeon laughs out loud at that, the one where he sways his body backwards, which makes Wangho smile.
“What about you?”
“Hm?”
“Why can't you sleep?”
Dohyeon looks back at him with a smile.
“The walls don't talk, I have nothing to listen to.”
Wangho and Dohyeon are no longer roommates.

“I spoil you too much.”
Wangho hums after ordering another glass of a different kind, crossing his legs, and resting his chin on his palm as his elbow rests on top of the counter. The older one looks at him with a knowing smile.
“Whose fault is that?”
Dohyeon stares back, his leg bouncing as he presses his lips in a thin line. The other hasn't even drank much but his cheeks are already flushed. Dohyeon thinks they're always pink. He writes that down on the list in his head about things that aren't fair.
“I guess it's mine.”
Dohyeon takes care of a drunk Wangho.
