Summary
Bruce shakes his head, then checks the small clock on the computer.
3:01 AM. Not an ideal time to eat, but he has trouble sleeping on an empty stomach. Better to eat something quickly so that he won’t be dead on his feet at the meeting in the morning.
He heads over to the main floor, where the kitchen is. It’s obvious from the moment that the elevator door opens that the light is on; initially, Bruce thinks someone just forgot to turn it off, but he hears the sink running.
Puzzled, Bruce enters the kitchen, and then stops dead in his tracks.
There, standing at the sink washing out a baby bottle, is Clark.
A very much shirtless Clark.

“I'll be retiring early tonight, Alfred,” Bruce said, standing up and cracking his back.
“Very good, sir,” Alfred answered, quickly snatching Bruce’s empty tumbler off the side table.
It had been a long day. Meetings with the board, meetings with R and D, a press conference to announce the latest in Wayne innovation, but that wasn't the reason he was heading up early, just the excuse. In reality, after a series of late nights, Bruce wanted a chance to wind down and watch his favorite streamer.

Everything seemed backward. Bruce Wayne's flirty, borderline crass comments barely turned the tips of Kent's ears pink, but a less-than-romantic conversation with Batman had the man turning shades of red he'd never seen before and stumbling over his words.
It reminded him of the way Superman sometimes acted, the times when Batman talked more. And he didn't know how to feel about that.
OR: Bruce Wayne has an embarrassingly large crush on Metropolis reporter, Clark Kent. Too bad the man wants nothing to do with him.

Batman ABSOLUTELY does not trust Superman, with his stupidly perfect hair, his stupidly kind smile, or the way his presence makes Batman’s heartbeat behave like it's been personally stomped on and stabbed.
Superman, meanwhile, would just reaaally like Batman to stop telling him to stay out of Gotham.
Unfortunately for both of them, Superman can hear heartbeats. 😼
