Summary
A little one shot based off the scene from the Season 2 finale of Girls, where Adam saves Hannah (link: https://youtu.be/MEcI0rD_SyM). The similarities between their relationships, and of course FaceTime and the Force Bond, made it too tempting not to write. I tried to work in as much of the original dialouge and action as possible :)
Basically, the Force Bond reopens when Rey is injured during an attack on the Resistance base, sending Kylo on a race against time to save her.

His voice is quiet but Rey can feel the anger behind the words. His eyes were intense, raging fires lit behind them and while she’s incredibly aware of her cheek still cradled in his hand, surprisingly so soft and gentle against her heated skin, she’s also aware of how his other fist is clenched so tightly, his knuckles a pale white in the low light of the room. A strange paradox that was emblematic of the man standing far too close to her.

To his relief, Rey takes a moment to absorb his offer, quietly asking. "And if you can't help the Resistance win?"
Kylo knows the greatest loss he could give. "I'll," He could offer to never speak to her again, but if she feels the same longing that plagues him, she wouldn't be tempted. He knows what she couldn't refuse. "If the Smugglers lose the war, I'll abandon the First Order, and join the Resistance."

Someone was hurting him. She was grateful she could not feel the actual pain he was experiencing, but only a phantom of ham-sized fists striking him repeatedly, those same hands wrenching his head back by his hair. Then electrical currents raced through his body until he screamed. Again and again he was shocked. And then he couldn't breathe.

She learned that when she was a little girl, and she wasn’t going to let wishes based on a phantom fighter tear her heart apart.
“That can’t be him,” Rey spat out. “Dash that thought, because he’s long gone.”
Finn paused the image as a lightsaber came into view. Even though the holo was the usual pale blue, there was no mistaking the crossguard lightsaber with its fiery plasma blades. Only they did not appear dark to suggest the crimson beams with which she was familiar. These appeared to blaze a blinding white.
“Tell me again you don’t think that’s Ren,” Finn stated.
