Summary
Agnes Nutter has lived in Eden Springs almost her entire life, and two weeks ago, she died quietly in her sleep. She left behind Starfall Ranch, and a will with some rather... interesting bequests. Anthony Crowley, a low-on-the-ladder lawyer from Boston, is suddenly charged with executing this will, and is explicitly requested to make a journey to Eden Springs to read it to the town. He's not happy about it, but there is a bonus, and he needs the money, so he goes. Aziraphale Fell, Eden Springs native, only ever wanted a quiet life away from his power-hungry family, where he could content himself with the people he likes best, horses, and his books. Now, after nearly twenty years working Starfall's land and raising prize-winning livestock, Aziraphale finds himself at a loss of what to do when a scowling city-slicker strolls in to potentially take it all away.
When the will is read, nobody is more surprised than Crowley to find out that not only is Starfall being left to not to Aziraphale, but to HIM.
Can our boys set aside their differences long enough to fall in love? Or perhaps even... name a horse? -

Summary
Aziraphale is a legal professor at the end of his medical leave post-car crash, and terrified of leaving his apartment. The university has allowed him to do zoom lectures to ease back in, but the pressure from administration to go back to in-person teaching is growing. Fortunately, Anathema is meddlesome and knows a guy. Enter Crowley, occupational therapist with a special set of skills and a bunch of baggage. Romance and shenanigans ensue.

Summary
Anthony Crowley and Aziraphale meet in 1918 on opposite sides of enemy lines. Crowley fights for the Germans, Aziraphale for the British. They both realize they don't actually want to fight in a war they both consider to be highly unnecessary, and join forces. Throughout the war, the two of themwind up cracking codes for the British, dabbling in some light espionage, and (of course), falling in love. The war ends, and things fall apart when a death in the family forces Aziraphale to consider his life, and unfortunately those considerations don't include Crowley. Ten years later, Crowley is a private detective in New York City--he's carved a life for himself here, and is doing a great (read: terrible) job of forgetting a certain wartime romance. He certainly wasn't expecting a certain angel to show up on his doorstep unannounced. Can our boys solve crime together like the good ol days, and heal ten years of pining?
tldr: ineffable husbands become unlikely allies during ww1, break up, and reunite in the roaring twenties

Sometimes I would say, ‘Okay, if someone is up there, if there is anything, I need help. I need something that is not pain all the time.’” He looked at Shane then, eyes very green in the low light. “And then, some time later, there was you.”
Shane’s throat went tight. “You think… God sent you a horny Canadian hockey rival?”

Shane and Ilya broke up. It was the adult, mature decision they made together and moved on from. Except Shane is still Ilya's emergency contact and Ilya's coach just called.
Ilya had a seizure. Well, seizures. Multiple. He is in the hospital, in the operation block and suddenly Shane is met with the possibility that last words Ilya Rozanov ever heard from him were "Maybe love isn't enough."
And then complications occur. And Ilya is not waking up.

They’d sat on a perfectly ordinary Wednesday afternoon in their perfectly ordinary kitchen, with coffee that had gone cold on the table between them, and calmly dismantled the life they’d built together. One sentence at a time.
“Maybe we need space.” “Maybe we’re just hurting each other.” “Maybe love isn’t enough.”
He wants to go back and shove that version of himself against the wall. Shake him until his teeth rattle.
Love is the only thing that matters when someone is under general anaesthesia and a stranger is touching their brain, Shane thinks wildly. Love is literally the only currency worth anything in a room like this.
