Shane has a lot of responsibility on his back.
He has a duty to this land and its people, a promise he made to his mother when she moved on from her role and passed it into his care.
“You are the best witch I’ve ever seen, Shane. You protect these people from the dangers that lurk beyond. There are monsters out there, scarier than any human, and it's your duty to keep them out.”
So Shane has a routine. A routine that involves magic and spellbooks and potions all lined up within certain parts of his day to ensure his home and the towns around it are free from the dangers of the supernatural.
But Shane’s strict, unwavering system is disrupted when he finds a large blonde wolf left for dead deep within his woods. Wolves are rare, he hasn’t seen a wolf in years.
However this break in his schedule has also brought on something even more rare than a blonde wolf, something Shane hasn’t seen within his own lifetime, something his mother warned him about.
His runes are breaking, and someone - or something - is doing it. They are after him.
And somehow this wolf is the key to everything.

"I know," Castiel murmurs, still just smiling a little, not looking heartbroken at all. "Don't worry about it, Dean, that's all I ask."
"So we're—" Dean risks a glance up, swallowing thickly. "We're good?"
