    YoRHa: Dark Aftermath is a miniseries based on “YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse”, a 24-player alliance raid trilogy introduced in Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers, a MMORPG produced by Square Enix. The premise of the questline is based on the 2017 action RPG, NieR: Automata. The creative team behind the NieR series—director and writer Yoko Taro, and composer Keiichi Okabe—were invited as guest collaborators.

    This project features multi-genre writing with experimental styles that are used to portray the chaotic inner worlds of various characters in the story. As the canon questline is fairly short and compact, this miniseries aims to expand on the existing lore further through references from NieR and its predecessor, Drakengard. Original ideas exploring what-if scenarios are also included, paying homage to the multiple ending routes in the games.
