Summary
After six years at PTMC, Shen has found that the majority of rumours spread are inflated or entirely inaccurate. 25% have some kernel of truth to them, about 13% are pretty accurate, give or take a fact or two, and 2% or less are completely, fully correct.
The 2% is rarely enough to justify the time needed to listen to the other 98%. Chasing the 2%, Shen’s found, is what lands him in the shit. Chasing the 2% is how he ended up working three doubles in the same week. Chasing the 2% is how he ended up on a blind date with a woman named Alex who worked in data science, and then he had to come out to the entire Obstetrics department on a Tuesday. Chasing the 2% is how he got his third concussion and also stabbed.
Shen’s second year of residency had been an experience he doesn’t want to repeat, so these days, Shen doesn’t allow himself to participate in gossip. Unfortunately for him, the people he works with are absolute fiends for the stuff.

The agent made a show of handing over passports. “Not a problem,” he said, overly light, and then, “Just make sure you come back.”

Summary
Barnes had a curious way of looking at Lockwood, like he always knew exactly what was going on inside his head—like he’d read his file, had dug it up from the DEPRAC archives and memorized the details, and could use the knowledge to crack him open like a nut. Or a safe, which was a metaphor Lockwood liked only slightly better.
“I don’t want any paperwork tonight,” Barnes said finally, and then with the measured calmness of a man not inclined to joking, “Try not to die.”
“I’ll do my best,” Lockwood replied, and then—because that was how the night was going—not fifteen minutes later he got stabbed.

It's the last highschool party they'll ever go to, and Iwaizumi is in love with Oikawa. Incredibly, Oikawa even loves her back. Too bad she won't do a fucking thing about it.
“We have to find them,” Iwaizumi says.
“Yeah, we don’t have to do jack shit,” Matsukawa replies, with a one-armed shrug. “Terushima’s got that new lotus-flavored stuff, I’m outtie in like thirty seconds here.”
“So you’re not going to help at all?” Iwaizumi demands, casting a hand at the house behind them. The music is pounding, the feet of fifty-plus athletes and their friends and their dates making the walls rattle and the floors bounce. Iwaizumi could spend twenty years looking for Oikawa in all this and never find her.
“This one’s your odyssey, girlfriend,” Matsukawa says, finally putting a hand to Iwaizumi’s shoulder. She looks weirdly solemn, and it makes Iwaizumi pause.
“What the fuck?”
