Summary
The wait between Beatrice lifting her hand and it reaching Ava’s face is almost agonizing. Her knuckles drift across Ava’s cheekbone, as if she isn’t sure what Ava’s skin will feel like when she touches it. Except, of course she does. Beatrice has a penchant for touching her face - something Ava found she craved whenever they were together. It’s an intimacy between them that began long before they’d made a life in the Alps. Worked a normal job together. Shared a bed in a tiny apartment. As soon as Beatrice makes contact with her skin, she lets out a relieved sigh, as if she expected Ava to run again.
Despite being someone who doesn't think fondly of God, Ava knows that Beatrice’s touch is exactly what heaven would feel like. Or should. Maybe God should take requests.

She catches herself before she makes contact, knowing that while she’s in this stranger’s body Beatrice would probably have her flat on her back in two seconds, and not in a good way. But even as her hand retracts itself, words tumble from her lips.
“Bea, I—”
Beatrice spins around. “How do you know my name?”
Eyes wide, Ava stammers, “I—I don’t.” They stare at each other. Then, “Be safe. I was going to say, ‘be safe.’”

When Eve finds out Frank died sometime after Villanelle leaves, she doesn’t think of Frank’s kids. She doesn’t think of the paperwork, the knowledge that she contributed, anything of that sort. She thinks of Villanelle, and the way her soft gaze trapped Eve. Villanelle, and the way her mouth felt working against Eve’s throat. Villanelle, and the way she moaned after pulling back.
