Goro’s mother’s old friend probably either pitied him or wanted to use his fame, but either way, Goro wouldn’t refuse a nice apartment in Yongen-Jaya, especially not one right next to a nice coffee shop. Even if it did mean he needed to live above a flower store. And even if that flower store just happened to have an infuriating, witty florist who keeps giving him bouquets that spell out insults in European flower language.
