Logan’s breath hitched as he glanced down at his watch.12:09 AM.
His blood ran cold. The realization hit them like ice spreading through his veins. This was wrong. It was all wrong. The shift had already passed, and yet they were still here, trapped in the same nightmarish dimension they had suffered through for the past year. The weight of it settled in his chest, thick and suffocating, like an unseen force had clenched around his lungs.
or: One eventful night, everything changes, and the phantom dimension blends in with their world.

Kai could not tear his gaze away from it.The figure it portrayed was feminine, with wings fractured at the edges like brittle glass, arms reaching downward as if forever mid-fall.
Her eyes were hollow, carved with such delicacy they seemed to follow him even in the shadows. And though the pot itself bore no inscriptions, no symbols that could mark it as anything more than an eccentric piece of junk, something within Kai trembled as his fingers wrapped around its cool ceramic curves.
He only held it for a moment.
or: Kai comes accross some cursed relic, which upon contact slowly drains away his elemental powers, consequences oh consequences.

The words dropped like a stone in a still pond. Cole blinked, straightening slightly, his brow furrowing—not from surprise, but from the sheer earnestness in the way the question was asked.

Kai, predictably, ignored it. “Is it? Is it really?” He smirked, inching closer, his voice dripping with faux innocence.

Ben’s sleeping already like a grandpa so he can’t entertain me, so you’re up!” The game show host tone that Aiden adapted to convey that last part made his skin itch with irritation.
“No.” Tyler deadpanned. He hoped it was enough to communicate his complete resistance, but knowing Aiden that wouldn’t matter.
“Too late, I’m outside!”
“You’re what?”

And even if it did, he could just fall asleep and he wouldn’t have to feel a thing.
Tyler remembers the texture of the pine tree bark. He remembers how similar it felt to asphalt: scratchy, rough, unforgiving. He remembers his weight exceeding that of the trees and the branch giving way. He thinks he hears it snap before he feels it. He thinks he feels it before he falls. He thinks he’ll fall forever. He thinks, as the entirety of his internal organs are bleeding and rupturing in a way he’s helpless to stop, that this is not a very easy place to fall asleep.

[5 times Tyler mindlessly touched Aiden + 1 time Aiden intentionally touched Tyler back]
“We should get gummies too.”
It must be the fifth time Aiden says that in the last three minutes, and the words slowly start to sound foreign to his own ears with how many times he repeated them. Alas, Ashlyn and Tyler keep ignoring him, and he is seriously getting bored with how uneventful the day currently is.
The thing is, if the other three have been sent in the aisles to retrieve stuff (the popcorns for Taylor, apparently, and the drinks for Ben and Logan), Aiden has no tasks at hands; in fact, when both Tyler and Ashlyn laid their gaze on him, only a second of silence were enough for them to ask him to stay here and be quiet.
