Summary
Phil was about to call out to Clint when he heard a sound coming from their bedroom. He shrugged off his jacket, leaving it and his tie over the arm of the couch, before padding towards the source.
The door to their bedroom was only half shut. The room was dark but the flashing light from the TV was bright enough for Phil to see that Clint and Charlie were in the middle of the bed, Charlie in Clint’s lap, with both of them wrapped up in the thick duvet Clint’d broken out just last week. Their dog, Lucky, was dozing in a heap at the end of the bed.

Phil rolled his eyes. His friends meant well but they could be a little annoying sometimes. “You don’t know that. Clint is just… being friendly. He flirts with everyone.”
“That’s not what Natasha said,” Maria chortled. “According to her, someone wouldn’t shut up about a certain Chief of Security.”
“Natasha is biased, and you’re delusional. Tell your girlfriend to stop gossiping about me.” Phil had many regrets in his life; two of them were ever knowing Maria Hill and Nick Fury.
For Phil, being Chief of Security of Stark Industries is hard enough without his nosy co-workers trying to stage an intervention of his love life. Throw some mafia problems into the mix and things really start to get interesting.
It really is a good thing that Phil has some mad ninja skills.

Clint and Steve had both been out fighting Dr. Doom the day before and nothing short of a call out or the end of the world was going to wake them now that they were in their bed. Phil sighed and answered the phone before he noticed that it was Clint’s phone and not his own.

It’s not that Phil has problems asking Clint out—well, he does, because he’s a professor and Clint’s someone else’s grad student. It’s just that he also has a thing for Clint’s roommate (and coworker, and best friend, and also someone else’s grad student) Steve. It’s fucking confusing for Phil because having the same kind of feelings for two people at the same time, how does that even work?
Plus, he’s just a balding, middle-aged, boring professor of economics. There is no way that Clint or Steve would look at him twice if they didn’t know each other already, right?

Clint almost laughed. HR-153 was the form that every omega agent had to fill out that designated, in the event of a heat-related emergency, an alpha that they would allow to help them. Clint had put in Coulson’s name at the time to try and get a rise out of the man. He had no idea that Coulson would actually consent and sign off on it, or that they’d actually be in this kind of situation in the first place.

The source of Phil’s distraction was outside the living room window, cutting through water in the shimmering pool like a shark in the ocean. It was mid morning, and most of the team were either still unconscious or, in Steve and Natasha’s case, had taken the rare day off to explore the city. That just left Clint. And Phil. Alone in a big house with only JARVIS to entertain them.
It was a bad idea. Phil should’ve known better, really, but then hindsight had always been twenty-twenty, even for the infallible Agent Coulson.
The sun was just peeking over the top of the house, casting a golden glow over the surface of the pool and the back of its lone occupant. Phil set the tablet down with a sigh because, let’s face it, he wasn’t going to be any productive than he had been, not with Clint dressed in only a skimpy little speedo and his muscular arms and thighs on full display.

Phil took a deep breath and leaned forward to catch Clint’s face in his hands. Clint’s entire body was sheened with sweat, and even in the dim light Phil could see that his eyes were a lighter shade of sky blue than his normal blue-green, and there was a small tuft of grey fur between his eyes, a barest hint of a coat over the back of Clint’s normally smooth arms and all the way down his spine. He was still human, only with some animal features that looked like special effects make up, and he was the most beautiful creature Phil had ever laid eyes on. “It’ll be okay, Clint.”

Imagine your OTP washing their dog a Sunday afternoon and the dog does not like to be bathed. Person A tries to pin the animal down while Person B washes it. The dog then jumps out of Person A’s arms, which sends them splashing into the tub. Person B starts laughing, so Person A drags them into the soapy water as well. The pair have a hard time getting out and keep slipping into each other while the dog merely watches on the other side of the bathroom. Bonus points if it leads to soapy kisses.
Clint and Phil try to give Lucky a bath. Emphasis on "try". Phil has some surprising (to him) revelations along the way
