Charles doesn't bother with thinking much, anyways, as he hustles towards the nearest side entrance. A part of him- the logical part- tells him it's a death sentence; There are reasons Charles hasn't been in to clear this building- older infected and hell knows what else hiding in locked rooms, waiting for a trigger to hone in on.
But this man in the blue coat doesn't know that. Maybe Charles should've put a sign on the door._

Summary
“Was thinkin’… Turkeys make funny sounds,” Arthur rubs his face, trying to keep himself from giggling again like a fool. Charles, from his spot on the ground an arm’s length from Arthur, stares at him. Arthur stares back, a panicking alarm bell prancing its way into his mind. That was probably a stupid thing to say.
Then, Charles bursts into his own fit of giggles as he takes in a shaky breath and exhales it as a surprisingly accurate imitation of a turkey gobble.

This was one of those days that he thought he might be too fond of to be able to share with his pen. Something he'd never bring himself to be able to write down. They’d been loping around the trails near the seat of the Cumberlands – shooting the breeze exclusively, not aiming for prey. Just fucking around on horseback until the thing bleeding in Arthur’s heart found them fucking around off horseback. Arthur paused the canter to sketch the silhouetted outline of a stag, antlers blending into the branches until it was all one and the same.
And then he’d put the notebook away at the look in Charles’ eyes.
