Grace touched the ends of her own hair where it reached just past her shoulders. She wondered what it would be like to have it long like that, or at least long enough to put it similarly in a hairclip. How much practice would it take to make it look just as effortless as Stratt managed to? She imagined her own hair at that length, what it would be like to brush through it, or braid it maybe? Would braids suit her? Wait. Did Stratt ever braid her hair? She tried to picture what that would look like. Kind of… cute? Wait. Cute?
She must’ve stared a bit too long because Stratt looked up with an exasperated sigh, pausing her typing.
“If you are going to be disruptive you should leave.”
The question slipped out before she could stop it.
“Will you teach me how to do my hair?”
____Or: Grace asks Stratt how to do her hair and learns more than she expected.

Confirmation bias: the human tendency to search for, interpret, and recall information that aligns with our existing beliefs, while ignoring or dismissing evidence that contradicts them.
No matter what Grace tries to tell him, Simon is very sure that the man is divine in nature. It just makes sense.

Simon winds up in The Enclosure, naturally. Grace is super down to have human company on planet Erid, but he really wishes someone would have given him a little bit of warning first. Especially about Simon’s religious cult upbringing — if he had known about that, he maybe could have planned a better-worded greeting that wasn’t basically, “Be Not Afraid.” He really set them up for failure with that one.
