Rose Landry isn’t a movie star. She’s a Youtuber.
And in 2016, Youtubers were important. She was one of the Make-up Youtubers. But she also did everything the other youtubers did at the time. Mukbangs, challenge videos, Holiday vlogs, Game plays. She shared her whole life on the internet.
So obviously when she becomes the girlfriend of THE Shane Hollander, she has to share that with the internet too.
Shane doesn’t seem to mind, at least from Ilya’s perspective who cannot help watch every one of Landry’s newest videos where she’s showing off Shane like she’s never had a boyfriend in her life.
He doesn’t watch because he’s jealous. Obviously not. He just watches because he’s bored. Shane is very boring after all.

What if Rose Landry was a social media star and Ilya can’t help but watch every piece of content she posts with Shane as if it’s a fucking cocaine addiction?

James and Sirius come face to face with two captive conundrums that make them want to bash their heads into the walls out of confusion. They keep referencing and eluding to things that don't make sense. That is until Lily comes into the pictures and connects the dots faster than both of them.

“Why did you have to go and get traded?! You realise we’re going to have to see each other every day from now on, and play together, and-”
“Yes,” Ilya interrupted. He didn’t want to know how long Hollander’s list was. “I know.”
Hollander took a deep breath. “Okay, listen,” he said. “Just so we’re clear - we don’t know each other outside of playing against each other, right?”
“Right.”
“And we can’t- can’t hook up anymore.”

OR: Ilya gets traded to Montreal in October 2014. He's lonely, and angry, and he misses Boston. He doesn't know if it helps that Hollander is there or not.

Rozanov cocked his head. “You speak Russian? Or just the curse words?”
“Yes, I speak Russian,” he snapped, defensive and angry. He knew that it had been a mistake to even try to be friendly with Rozanov. “Why? Do I not look Russian to you?” He scoffed.
“No, not really,” Rozanov said. Some of his teammates laughed, although they mostly looked surprised that Shane was speaking to them at all. Rozanov didn’t laugh, though. “Are you Russian?”
“Go fuck yourself.”

Despite an inauspicious start, when Russia’s Ilya Rozanov learns that Canada’s Shane Hollander is fluent in Russian at their first World Junior Championships tournament, it changes everything and sets them on a different course. Instead of being branded as rivals from the very beginning, Ilya and Shane start off as friends.
