Taken aback, Lyney looked at Aether, a little confused.
“A secret of mine...?”
“It can be anything you want.”
Lyney placed a thumb under his chin, taking the time to think about it.
“Alright,” he said after a while.

Well that doesn’t answer a lot of questions, but the sinking feeling that washes over him supplies enough of any answer he needs. Whatever he planned to do, the traveler already has a decent idea of what it was even without a full explanation.

A sort of character study/love letter to Lyney and Aether, their shared issues, and how they are special to each other. Lots of comforting and soft moments, I promise this is a good one!

Summary
Xingqiu and Chongyun grew apart ten years ago. Both of them have their own respective successful careers: Xingqiu as a ruthless businessman and Chongyun as a prolific exorcist although one once disdained materialism and the other repelled demons by existing. When a family tragedy strikes Xingqiu, Chongyun returns to Liyue Harbor to be there for his old...friend. At least, that's why he thought he was there. But for some reason, this "old friend" feels so unfamiliar now. And he just wants to know...why? And serial wound-reopener Xingqiu seeks some answers of his own. In other words, Xingqiu loses his vision and they discover a plot that started ten years ago as they rediscover each other.
I've been sitting on these drafts for a while and I kept editing, planning, changing plans...But I'm finally gonna go for it! First time writing a fic and not beta'd, something something we die like men. Fingers crossed I got the tags right. I'm tossing this out into the wild and hopefully it sparks joy somewhere, somehow, sometime! Weekly updates. Smut in Chapter 8 and Epilogue (will add warning so that they'll be easy to skip). Some NPCs die but that's the life of a NPC, innit?
