Ren hears his voice, its soft cadence somehow able to break through the twisted whispers flooding his mind.
"We can trust him", Dan Heng says.
He blindly follows that voice, turning his head towards it, and when he opens his bleary eyes it takes Ren several seconds for his gaze to focus and for Dan Heng's figure to be more than just blurry spots of familiar colors. But when he's finally able to make up Dan Heng's worried face it feels as if Ren had been drowning all this time and Dan Heng is his first inhale of fresh air that he desperately needs to live.
How everything changes between them and what it means to Ren after centuries of a seemingly endless chase.

Checking into a hotel with Blade had certainly not been on Dan Heng’s to-do list when he first stepped out onto Planarcadia, but with how often Trailblazing missions went awry, Dan Heng figured that this little detour was just par for the course.
Going off on his own to find Blade was reasonable…necessary, even.
Staying with Blade, even while he was resting for the day and in all likelihood would be doing little but sleeping?
Well. Not even Dan Heng could fully justify his choice in his head with reasons that sounded more logical rather than personal, though that did not stop him from trying.

Blade and Dan Heng are forced to share a hotel room and confront all the things left unsaid between them.

His big sister is downstairs, having just caught him rather obviously doing something with someone, because he didn’t hide the evidence well enough in his panic, and the culprit is still in his room. Tobio starts wondering wildly whether it’s feasible that if he and Hinata just shut the door and stay put, they can literally ignore the problem until she goes away.
“Miwa?” Hinata pipes up, derailing Tobio’s runaway train of thought by looking absolutely delighted, for some inane reason. “Can I say hi?”

Amari is a baccarat dealer by night, and a conman by day. Jitsui heads the casino's surveillance team when he's not hacking. And Hatano is allegedly a bouncer, but in actuality a messenger. When messages need to be delivered with brass knuckles.
And Sakuma is the hapless undercover cop who's managed to infiltrate D-Agency, determined to bring their criminal empire down. It's just too bad for him that all of them already know this.

The change wouldn't really affect him as well due to his living conditions, but he had no reason to oppose it.He should have seen it coming.
