“Are you guys going to kill me if I let you in my car?”
“Of course not,” Wooyoung replies first. He tilts his head as he thinks for a moment before adding, “Although I imagine that’s what we’d say if we were actually planning to kill you. But we wouldn’t do that!”
Jongho closes his eyes, his mind conflicted about what he should do. On the one hand, Wooyoung’s reassurances aren’t all that reassuring and Jongho knows that this is exactly how one of the true crime documentaries his mother loves to watch would start. On the other hand, he kind of feels bad for them. Well, he feels bad for Yeosang, who looks a little lost and seems genuine in his struggle. Wooyoung kind of seems like an asshole if Jongho is being honest.

When Jongho decides to turn a six-hour flight back to San Francisco into a few days of driving across the country, he expects to do the drive alone. Just him, drive-thru burgers, and the open road. At least, that's the plan anyway.
That all changes when he meets Wooyoung and Yeosang, two strangers standing outside of his favorite cafe, asking to hitch a ride.

They are puppets, replaceable just as much as they are vital to performance. Even if San and Yunho have been the most loyal and upstanding right-hand men, they are still just pieces on a much larger game board that men like Seonghwa and Hongjoong control in their entirety.
