When Naruto is kidnapped from his orphanage at age three, Kakashi is so done with this shit. He gets Naruto back, tells the Hokage where to go (politely, because he isn't suicidal), and raises the boy himself. Or, you know, tries and is proud when there aren't too many explosions.
Then everybody starts to copy him and it's a whole thing.

Summary

Love, lies, happiness, sorrow, and tragedy combined into the existence of the unfortunate being that has become fond of. Pain is a constant for him. Freedom means nonexistence. Dancing to Fate's tune is continuing to exist.
Thirteen lives and so much more deaths, the master of death continues on to walk the path Fate demands of him.
