Out of the two of them, Inej is the morning person. She's always up at what is practically dawn to meditate or pray and get ready for her day. Nina's morning routine involves much more sleeping, and many more waffles. Now that they live together, Nina gets her waffles every morning, regardless of whether she or Inej makes them.
It's a Saturday morning, and although Inej would have usually been up hours ago, she had decided to sleep in a little, at Nina's request. Surprisingly, it's Nina who wakes up first. She rolls over onto her side and realizes that Inej is still asleep. Nina very rarely has the pleasure of seeing the other girl sleeping, and she plans to enjoy every moment of it, even if that might stray into creeper territory.
Inej's long hair is spread out in tangles onto the pillow. Her skin is startlingly beautiful against the white bedding. Nina is so in love with her, it almost hurts. She can see that the alarm clock says 10:00, which is later than even she tends to sleep in on off days.
Time to wake Inej up, then. Nina loves her just as much awake, anyway.
She leans over closer than she did before, when she was trying not to wake her. Nina presses a gentle kiss against Inej's neck. She can feel the exact moment her wife wakes up. Inej gets a little tenser, much more alert, and brings her hand up to run through Nina's hair.
"Good morning." She whispers in a sleepy, unused voice which Nina doesn't get to hear often enough.
Nina smiles.
She kisses her wife's lips, and Inej wraps both arms around her and smiles mischievously.
"Five more minutes?"
