“I don’t know how to look you in the eye after the things I’ve done,” Enji whispers, pressing a soft kiss against the sleeping baby’s head. Todoroki, no, Midoriya Hinata huffs and wiggles deeper into her swaddling, never waking up. It almost feels mocking that she has Inko’s green hair rather than his red, and he has no clue if she at least got his eyes or his Quirk.
“Inko probably hates me. I know Rei does for sure. Only good thing is the marriage contract is legally binding and I’ll at least get what I want from it.” He gently touches Hinata’s chubby cheek. He should be on his honeymoon right now, but due to Toxic Chainsaw acting up he’d gotten to push it back and got to witness this. “But I’m starting to regret it. Say best case scenario and Rei does give me the kid I want first. Your Mama isn’t going to want me back, and even I’m self-aware enough to know I should leave you both alone. Give her the child support and just let you both be.”
Enji can hear the sound of the nurse returning and knows he needs to leave. The public can’t know he has an illegitimate daughter. He knows Inko left the father’s name blank on the birth certificate. It’s not safe for him to be publicly connected to Inko or Hinata. Not as the Number Two hero.
But he can at least support them. At least use the separation to keep them safe.
And maybe he’ll find a way to get back to them both…
One of his kids with Rei will be what he wants.
Hopefully the first.
Enji’s whiskey is untouched next to him, the file in his hand more enthralling than anything else he’s seen in a while. No case or villain has caught his attention so much. The only thing he thinks that has interested him nearly so much is Shoto demonstrating that Rei finally did something useful, and gave him the son with a perfect Quirk.

His daughter has his Quirk (or as good as) and his eyes. She’d caught the attention of the Commission after halting what had been a massive fire, caused by the careless of Captain Celebrity. The idiot of an American hadn’t paid any attention to where his blows had landed and he’d destroyed a gas station, damn near blowing up several blocks worth of Hosu. Only Hinata’s quick thinking had stopped it, and he couldn’t be any more proud.
Already well on her way of following in his footsteps...
Enji almost knocks the whiskey onto the file at the sudden sound of Shoto’s shriek of pain, an inhuman sound he’s never before heard come from his youngest. He stands up and carefully puts the file down. Can’t risk getting one of the only pictures he has of Hinata ruined.
What the hell could the brat have done this time?
