What is worse for Shunsui, is losing the one who is part of his own soul — the gentle, strong-willed, noble, yet sickly Jūshirō, whom Shunsui has stood by, loved, and protected for two millennia through the strife and tempests of their entwined lives. He has lived with a moody mistress of a Zanpakutō and forced order on a chaotic, bloodthirsty Soul Society for over a thousand years.
