Chapter Text
Noriaki Kakyoin was not exactly a popular guy. Sure, he was decently good looking and polite. He was also just generally a nice guy; the perfect boy to bring your home to your parents. But alas, he had one fatal flaw. He was a huge nerd. He was your textbook nerd; smart, an honor student, and a video game fanatic. He was also an introvert, no one really seemed to click with him. Sure, he had “friends” but he never considered them to understand him and they they mostly just hung out for convenience's sake. All in all, he was just the type of guy you wanna shove into a locker and steal his lunch money. So when a girl asked to meet him behind the gymnasium, a classic shoujo manga move, he should have been ecstatic. But he wasn’t, for the girl he was meeting did not seem like she wanted to confess at all. She seemed like she wanted to beat the shit out of him.
Jotami Kujo was a student in Kakyoin’s class who had only transferred there a few months ago. The first thing you notice when you meet her is her height. She towers over most of everyone in the school at 6 feet, 5 inches. Most of the girls are scared of her, and the guys are freaked out by her. But it’s not just her height contributing to that, she’s built like a wrestler and she could probably crush your head with her bare fists. There were plenty of rumors going around about how violent she is. Some say that she was kicked out of her old school for sending 5 guys to the hospital.
So this was not the ideal situation for poor Kakyoin. He had noticed that the girl had been glaring at him occasionally from time to time, giving him a terrifying death stare. You could read it in her face as clear as day: “I’m gonna fucking kill you.” Now, Kakyoin wasn’t really sure why she would want to kill him. After all, he’s just some nerd in her class with barely any friends. Why does she have a vendetta against him? What did he do to deserve this? Those are the thoughts that went through Kakyoin’s head as he walked to the back of the gymnasium after school had ended.
Oh god, what did I do to deserve this? I’ve barely even talked to this girl and she already wants to murder me. Is it my face? Is there something wrong with my face that makes people want to kill me? Is that it? His mind kept rushing to conclusions as he waited for Jotami to show up. A few more minutes passed and Kakyoin hoped that she had given up and strangled some other nerd instead. But alas, the dark haired girl came walking slowly to Kakyoin, a menacing aura surrounding her. Kakyoin’s hands sweat and he bit the inside of his cheek, Fuuuuuuuuck.
Jotami stops in front of Kakyoin, towering above him. Kakyoin wasn’t even short, to be honest. He’s like 5’10 but in that moment, he felt as small as a pebble. Jotami didn’t say a word, she just gave him that death stare that she had been giving him for weeks.
Kakoin looked back up at her, his brows furrowed in a worried expression. His mind raced, Oh god oh fuck. Is this it? Is this how I die? Is this really it for Noriaki “Minecraft Wizard” Kakyoin? (Note: no one calls him a minecraft wizard). No! I can’t die like this! I may not be as built as this girl but I’m no twig! I can take her! I feel bad about hitting a girl but sacrifices must be made for the good of society! Wait, no, what if she overpowers me and I really do die? I never wrote a will, who’s gonna get my Lord of the Rings limited edition novels? I can’t let mom have them, she’ll throw them away! Oh god and- He had started to become lost in his own thoughts when a voice spoke up and brought him back to Earth.
“Hey.”
“Eh?” Kakyoin quickly snapped out of his downward spiral of anxiety and remembered his surroundings. He looked around and noticed something. Jotami was holding something. No, she was giving something to Kakyoin. It was... an envelope? Kakyoin blinked, surprised.
Jotami just kept giving him a death stare, not stating a word. She gestured for Kakyoin to take the envelope. The redhead looked at it for a good minute, math problems flying though his head in order to figure what is exactly is going on. But Jotami just shoved the envelope in his hands and ran off.
Kakyoin was in shock. He.... was alive? She didn't beat him up? What the hell? He looked at the envelope in his hands. It was your standard envelope, white and..... Oh god, there’s a heart sticker on it. A heart sticker. His eyes widened, No... no way... He frantically opened the envelope to see if his suspicions were true.
Inside the envelope was a letter. The letter had only had a few words on it, but that’s all it really needed.
I like you. Go out with me.
Jotami wasn’t trying to beat the shit out Kakyoin, she was confessing to him. A girl actually liked Kakyoin and he thought she was gonna kill him.
“Oh my god,” Kakyoin thought out loud. “I’m such an asshole.”
