Snowy morning

Summary:

What is the best way to spend a snowy morning?

Notes:

Day 1: Let it snow.

Work Text:

Eri had never seen snow for real. In the first six years of her life, she was practically held captive in an underground facility and could only leave if she was fast enough – which always led to someone’s gruesome death by the hand of Chisaki as punishment for letting her escape.

But right now, she wasn’t at that place anymore. She was living in the U.A. faculty dorms, when she had access to things like books or television – through which she had her first glimpse of snow. When she asked her caretaker about it, Shou-san said that it falls usually in December and because the air is so cold that the water couldn’t stay water anymore. She got really intrigued in snow and all the funny things she saw people doing in it on TV.

So, it was not a surprise that she got extremely excited on that Saturday morning when she pulled her curtains apart and saw the world outside her window painted in white. She hurried out of her room and tiptoed to the door next to hers. It was still early, so she didn’t want to wake up everyone else. She knocked on the door, but when she didn’t get an answer, she pushed it open as quiet as she could.

The room was mostly dark, only the ray of sunshine getting through the crack of the drawn curtains provided a small amount of light. Eri walked up to the bed and saw her caretaker still fast asleep.

”Shou-san,” she whispered as she shook his shoulder gently. ”Shou-san!” She spoke up, a little bit louder.

”Wha-” Aizawa groaned, still half asleep and really grumpy.

”It snowed outside, Shou-san!” Eri said excitedly with her voice rising at volume a bit.

Aizawa popped his head up on one of his palms and looked at the clock. It was only 6:30. He turned his attention towards Eri, who looked back at him with shining eyes.

”Oh really?” He asked and Eri nodded vigorously. ”Do you know what is the best thing to do in a cold morning like this?” He asked and Eri shook her head. With a quick movement, he scooped her up and pulled her under his sheets. ”Having some cuddles and sleeping.” He said, pulling the little girl to his chest.

”Shou-san!” Eri protested, but snuggled up to the older man nonetheless. She felt her eyelids getting heavier and she pouted. Getting back to sleep wasn’t a part of her plan!

”If you will be a good girl and sleep a bit more, I will take you to Midoriya to play, ‘kay?” Aizawa asked on the verge of sleep. Eri hummed and in the next moment, both of them were out like a light.
