Work Text:
"You shouldn't be here so late, and even less alone"
Jacob crossed his arms.
"I don't need permission. I'm a big boy"
The vampire narrowed his eyes, with a sharp look "It's raining. Being here is not healthy for you or my kid"
Jacob rolled his eyes.
So it was all about that thing?
"It's all you care about"
Edward sighed "Jacob, I-"
The wolf growled "No need. I already told you to stop bothering me"
The wolf walked away from the other.
"I've already told you why I'm here. I can't be away from you for long because… It hurts" Edward took him by the shoulder "You don't have to be so nervous around me. I don't mean to do you any kind of harm, know you?"
Jacob trembled when something in his voice made him stiffen abruptly. The copper-haired took the opportunity to get closer. The scent caressed his senses. Edward stroked his hair, and lowered his voice "You know you don't need to fight the imprint"
Jacob sulked "Of course I do. I don't have to depend on anyone. I can fight you"
Edward leaned into him, with a smile. He wrapped the boy in a hug, covering him almost completely. His lips whispered to his neck "Love, we both know you won't win"
Jacob hissed "Don't tell me like that. You and I are nothing"
The vampire paused "I am your imprint. The reason for your existence. Does it seem little to you?"
"I have Paul"
Edward looked almost disappointed before swallowing. Curse. A run of coldness gathered in his chest. It couldn't be.
He had said the same thing again. And it felt like a poison.
Edward was sure that if Jacob were anyone else he loved, he would have let him go if it made him happy... But the thing is, he couldn't. It burned his inside to see him with someone else. It was worse than the venom in his body.
It hurt.
Every time he rejects him... It hurts a lot. Feel like his dead heart is bleeding from pain. And it doesn't seem fair. Is it too much to ask that this little wolf accept him once and for all as his true mate?
He crossed his arms "Paul is indifferent to me, he unlike you I don't care" the coppery sighed "Besides, don't change the subject. You're going to get sick out here"
Jacob smiled at him.
Edward then had a sudden need to rip a kiss from his, bite his lips, and drink from his mouth. All at the same time. It was so strong that he could barely contain himself.
The boy was mocking "Wolves don't get sick"
"That's great. Vampires don't either" Edward smiled back at him "See? We belong together"
And at that moment they both sighed, although for different reasons. Edward was very comfortable with the scent of Jacob and Jacob… Well, he was also very comfortable with the scent of Edward and all that, but he rather sighed in frustration.
"Whatever"
Edward was worried "Anything can come and attack you if you roam around here unaccompanied"
Quickly, the wolf replied "I know how to defend myself, Edward. You are not talking to a normal and defenseless human. I am a strong guy. In case you forget, wolves can fight against… Several, of your specie"
A very direct hint.
Edward didn't care, he just seemed to be amused by the boy's childish demeanor and irritated in equal parts by his stubbornness.
"Yeah but only true wolves" he whispered.
Jacob stopped abruptly, very offended by his statement "What do you mean by that?"
Edward took a deep breath "I didn't mean anything" he answered quickly "I mean… Look Jacob, you…" the vampire was getting more and more nervous with the defiant look of the teenager "Well yeah… You are a wolf obviously but... "
Jacob snapped "Just say it already!"
"You are a omega*, Jacob" he blurted out, making the other guy tense for it.
Shocking. My own imprint now also sees me as the useless and the wimpy in the pack.
"I never said that, it's just… You are smaller, and you have less strength" His voice was cracking as he looked into the deep black eyes of the boy who was suddenly in low spirits. Edward didn't want him to be sad. It was heartbreaking. "Y-You're not made to fight. And I... I really don't want to see you do it" he lowered his head, trying to soften his tone "I've watched you and... I don't want you to get hurt. The other wolves are too big for you. I would not bear that something happens to you"
Edward held still for a few seconds and then gently took his hand, which, indeed, had a smaller proportion than the vampire's. A little thinner and finer. Jacob felt a caress on his cheek and a shudder ran through them both. Edward sweetly admired the perfect bond their skins made together. The view was wonderful. Harmonious. Nice.
He could be like this forever.
When he was with the wolf, Edward couldn't pay attention to words to understand his emotions. He just felt it and that's it. He was more distracted by Jacob's face to notice details.
But then Jacob released him, ignoring the pain in his chest as he rejected the contact. He didn't realize that Edward made a sad face when he saw his empty palm. It was discouraging. Withered. Hard. Gap. Deplorable. Unbearable.
…And the opposite happened but in the same way when Jacob left.
"It's just a little, it's not a big deal" he shrugged "I've beaten several in my pack, if that's what you're worried about"
Edward sighed, resigning his opinion to that. He should change the subject "You had your guard down. I've been here for more than two minutes and you didn't realize it until I spoke to you" his face turned serious again "You will finish another time, it would be unthinkable and irresponsible of me to leave you here to your fate"
Jacob rolled his eyes. Edward decided to correct himself "I want to be by your side at least now, Jacob. You still have our child in your womb, see it there. The best thing is that now you go home to rest"
Jacob decided not to say anything about it "And I did smell you, I was just concentrating on my work. I'm about to finish" he snorted.
Edward didn't give up "Let's go" he insisted.
Jacob again ignored him and turned to take a quick look at his bike. He sighed in relief when he saw that the rain hadn't affected it. Then, remembering the vampire's words, he looked sideways and saw nothing. Jacob frowned.
"I can finish this" he leaned over and began to clean the cylinders carefully "There is no one, so it is not true what you said"
There was silence.
Jacob jumped when he felt the vampire teleport to his side "It is"
The coppery came closer. Jacob turned around and was suddenly intimidated by the difference in height causing his body to contract; Jacob was tall naturally, but Edward was even taller. It didn't help that the wolf was lean and instead of lots of muscles (which he also had), he was more curvaceous. The vampire was quite masculine, his body was literally granite (although Jacob never felt that way), so he was extremely hard. At that moment a huge urge to hug settled in his arms, but he was reluctant to give in to his impulses. Edward looked at this and said nothing, instead, he caressed his warm cheek, looking at him intensely with his golden eyes "You can touch me whenever you need or just want to"
The wolf blushed, struggling to hide and get away from the other man. Edward gave him another smile of his before quickly pinning him in the air by the waist with the full length of his arms. Edward was carrying him. Jacob was shocked. When he saw how close they were that their breasts were close together, Jacob got angry.
"Let go of me, leech!"
The brunette began to squirm to get out of his grip. The guy gave him a tighter grip in response "My name is Edward"
The coppery man carefully brought his nose close and began to sniff his neck.
"I do not mind"
Edward buried his face. Jacob bit back a groan when he felt the other rub his lips. The wolf was shocked "No!"
Edward bit his neck. Jacob flinched and his body tensed "Please…" he begged.
He was easily eluded.
Edward ran in the opposite direction. They passed many meters until they came to a small dry hole in a thicket of trees. Edward laid Jacob down gently before cornering him on all fours against the ground. The wolf began to freak out when the vampire began to unbutton his shirt and put a hand on his chest to push him "Hey"
He tried to stop him, but the other hand was faster and they both grabbed him. Edward bit his mouth "Hush"
Jacob was silent.
"Look... You decide" he paused, pulling away from the boy to see him directly in the eyes. Jacob noticed the black color of these "We can go home right now or... We can stay here and continue" the copper pressed him back to the ground.
Jacob swallowed, sniffing the air "C'mon-let's go home"
Edward smiled triumphantly and his eyes twinkled. He was grateful to know that Jacob would soon be safe, away from that dangerous forest.
He hadn't wanted to tell his before, but there are more vampires now. Because if he did Billy was no longer going to let Forks out and Edward was not going to be able to meet the wolf peacefully… Since he didn't care. If Jacob was locked up in the Reserve, the vampire would follow him no matter what. It would sneak into his room. If they didn't let each other see each other, he would fight it. He didn't care if he did it by invading they territory, or if he looked very imposing. That would probably spark a war.
Just for that, it is better not to tell him to save all that.
On the other hand, he was sore from the huge erection between his legs. Some part of him would have liked Jacob to say the opposite and hoped he would stay with him. Hell, it had been a while since they had touched in privacy and his mind didn't even care how indecent it would be to do it in a forest.
He missed his moist, soft warmth and… He felt another aching twinge on his cock.
Edward snorted.
Not now, boy.
