Chapter 1: The Pillar
Chapter Text
Tommy had never wanted to kill himself. He was’t ever seen as that type of person to be suicidal. At age 16, he had been though so much. War after War, losing his friends, his brother (Wilbur isn’t actually his brother, but they may as well be), and he had many betrayals. Maybe that’s what made him change. Wilbur’s final death. Tubbo’s execution. Eret’s betrayal. Yeah, the discs don’t matter. But that was Tommy’s home.
Tommy knew that discs weren’t actually home, it was just the positive memories he associated with them.
L’Manburg wasn’t home. He had been exiled twice there, and he gave up his home for it’s independence. No, L’Manburg was his brother’s home, Tubbo’s home. Tommy didn’t have that there.
Logsteadshire wasn’t either. That much was clear as soon as Tommy stepped foot here with his ghostly brother. Mooshroom Henry was nice to have around for sure, but all of that is gone now.
Tommy didn’t have anything to live for anymore. Wilbur was this shell of who he was, Tubbo hated him, L’Manburg exiled him again, he couldn’t ever get his discs again even if he had seen a point to.
Dream was right. There isn’t any point.
Tommy builds up with all the blocks he has, going as high as possible. Crows fly around him as he builds higher into the night sky. As he runs out of blocks, he looks off into the distance.
Not as enticing as lava..but this works i guess, he thought to himself.
Tommy pulled out the pictures that he had left. There wasn’t many, but enough to let him reminisce. The tree looks great this time of year, he’s heard. Maybe he can finally see it.
Tommyinnit, child general, jumps off the pillar.
He falls
And falls
And... falls..
And then-
Lands.
Tommy lays on the ground, with a chuckle, says, “Man, I can’t even kill myself correctly.” He couldn’t move, all his bones most likely broken, his body landing on a poking sheet of shrapnel that stabbed through his stomach.
Tommy knew he would die anyway, Dream wasn’t coming until much later. It didn’t take too long for him to phase off, eventually...
Tommyinnit fell from a high place.
Chapter 2: The Goddess
Summary:
Tommy meets Her.
Chapter Text
Black Void. That’s all Tommy could see. It almost felt suffocating, claustrophobic, how silent and empty the space Tommy was in. So when he saw a jade toned glow, he almost sobbed at the sight.
She was tall. Much taller than Wilbur, but not quite as tall as Ranboo. Her long black hair almost blended in with the rest of the void, along with her dress. Her dress though was a bit easier because of the glowing jade swirling in the ends of it. She wore a large sun hat that had a veil pushed to the back, revealing her face.
“Um.. Hello?” Tommy asked. She felt familiar. He couldn’t place it.
“Hello, Tommyinnit. I’m sorry, but why are you here?”
Not even a few hours into him being dead, and a strange entity already wants him gone.
“I am dead. I killed myself.”
“Child, I had seen that, I know. ”
He curled into himself. What did she mean then if she saw? Her eyes glowed a vibrant jade compared to the embroidery.
Ignoring the comment on his age, he bit “Then why are you asking me?”
“I am just wanting to know what he did to you to get someone like you to kill yourself. It doesn’t make sense to me.”
“what do you mean? I killed myself, not kill an animal. Suicide, as sad as it is? Isn’t uncommon.”
“Tommy, I know that. Do you know me?” She ducked her head down for a moment.
“No? Should i?”
“I am the Goddess of Death, I rule all death on all the realms. I’ve been watching you and some others for a very long time.”
Tommy deadpanned. Not another god. First Drista, then the goddess of Death. He had sworn that there was another one too that recently shown up too. And Dream, but.. he doesn’t matter right now. He’s not Tommy’s friend, he thinks.
“It’s kinda weird to watch us like that without us knowing, innit?”
There was a moment of silence before the Goddess cackled with laughter. “Haha, I mean. Yes? But its apart of my job, and...”
“And?”
“Well for you specifically, you’re extremely close to my consort.”
“Wait, What???”
“Tommy,” She readjusted her hat so that he could see her face again, which was something he was silently thankful for. “Right now it doesn’t really matter. Honestly I am a little mad at him right now, but he isn’t why I’m visiting you.”
“Then.. why are you visiting me?”
“Multiple reasons, but.. Tommy, you weren’t supposed to die there. And not in the way that guy said that it wasn’t your time to die yet. He was right in that regard but, he had hurt you a lot. Pushed you to your breaking point.”
“That’s a fucking understatement..” he muttered.
“I know, sorry. What I mean is you weren’t supposed to kill yourself, you were supposed to make it out of there. Dream is out of control, and no one else besides me and you know how bad he is, and how bent he is on controlling everyone on the server.”
“Yeah? And? I’m dead, and you probably can’t be on the overworld to kick his ass, and even if i was alive, they wouldn’t listen to me because they never fucking did! So either way there’s no way to fix this! And once again its my fucking fault this shit has turned south! He was right, i ruin everything.” At this point he had started crying, which is something he wouldn’t usually do but he didn’t see a point in hiding it.
“Toms, that’s not true. You did so many things to sacrifice your happiness for the happiness of others. You couldn’t control so many of the negative things that happened, and Dream.. that bastard who sees himself as a god.. he made it so you didn’t have the control over things you should’ve. And that was an unfair hand, but.. we can improve those odds. ”
“What do you mean, uhhh goddess of Death?”
“My name is Kristin, Toms. You can also call me Mumza. What i mean is the deal that I have in store for you.”
“What kind of deal?” Tommy was skeptical, every time Drista had asked him to do a deal, it would end in him losing all of his things. Although, that happened anyway, and now he has nothing to lose.
“Have you heard of the Angel of Death?”
“Uh, yeah? That’s Phil.”
“Haha, yes, but he took the deal, he was originally human like you. Thousands of years ago.”
“I KNEW HE WAS ANCIENT HAH!”
“You will be revived by me, meaning you will have a few connections to me that shows that you took the deal to do so. Sometimes I will visit though dreams, sometimes its a flock of crows. Being revived by me also makes it so you have some abilities as well, though those show up as soon as you accept the deal.”
“...what’s in it for you? You don’t want me to just live, right?”
“Well. For my side of the deal, i want you to kill dream. It’s what the server needs. But know you don’t have to do it yourself, in fact I don’t want you to. And I may have JUST said that the Server needs it, but do it for you as well. I want you to heal.”
“... Fine, Ill do it, if its for everyone else.” Kristin looked at him sadly. She didn’t want to have him leave yet.
“Are you sure?”
“No, but I don’t have much of a choice, do I?”
“I mean you do, you’re not the only one that I’ve done this to, and I do have a dead son. But you’re also the best option, unfortunately.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Not negative, I mean that you’re the only one I have full confidence that will actually kill Dream. I don’t think my son would, and my husband is just as unlikely, mainly because of Techno. No offense to them, unless they are swayed by you, they will side with Dream. I just wish it didn’t have to be you, since you’ve gone though too much already.”
Tommy was quiet, which freaked Mumza out. She knew Tommy his whole life, closely paying attention to him back when Wilbur first found him. He was a loud, reckless kid. Never quiet, always needed some sort of noise to stimulate him. So seeing him as the shell of the person he used to be, and that being caused by multiple people including someone he saw as a brother made her sick. Her husband had reaped Wilbur without even attempting to try helping him too, without even a second glance. She hasn’t talked to him since. Mumza still loved Phil, sure, but she can be mad at him for doing something wrong, especially since it involves the ones she saw as her children. She stared at Tommy again, but this time he was shaking.
“It’s not fair..” Tommy hiccuped, a broken laugh turning into sobs.
“Oh Toms..” Mumza wrapped her arms around him, as she always had wanted to. She wanted to protect him and the chance she gets to is thrown out the window by an asshole with a god complex.
If they had both started crying, neither of them would tell another soul.
Meanwhile, an ex leader follows the sounds of his little brother’s cries.
Chapter Text
Tommy was tired. He knew most people didn't notice the drag in his legs as he would walk around his exile when he was alive, or the bags in his eyes that somehow got deeper and deeper each day, no matter how much he would sleep the night before. So the first thing Tommy felt when he shook Kristin’s hand to fully seal the deal was that tiredness coming to a T.
And then he passed out.
He didn't really remember much when he was asleep, but he vaguely sensed he saw Tubbo in his dream. He was crying for someone. Tommy was confused, he was right here. But that didn’t last long, because before he knew it-
“Oh you’re awake already?”
Tommy was back in the void. Tears pricked in his eyes.
“Toms, it's okay, breathe..” Mumza instructed. For a few moments, Mumza helped Tommy calm down, helping Tommy ground himself. It was at this moment he realized he fell asleep with his head on her lap. His face heated with shame. What if she hated him now for being too clingy? What if she wouldn't revive him now? What if-
“Toms, is everything alright?” She asked.
“Uhm. Sorry for falling asleep on you. Literally.” He dared not to look into her eyes so he wouldn't feel the disappointed glare she was probably giving him. He ended up looking up at her eventually, and instead of the look he was so so familiar with, he was being looked at with a soft smile.
“Tommy, youre fine. I moved you on my lap so you wouldn't sleep uncomfortably- or at least any more uncomfortable than it already is, sorry I can't actually control your limbo, that's actually you, haha.”
“Wait, w-what?” He asked. What did she mean by not being able to control my limbo?
“I may be the goddess that encompasses Death, but Limbos are the worlds the living forcibly put themselves through, that being due to regret, or because they are a generally bad person. For you, you're punishing yourself. I wouldn’t know the specific reason as to why but it's definitely not because of how you died. Consider this place as something that summarizes your entire life, and then makes a hell for you based off that.”
“Okay..” Tommy shrugged but he noticed something strange. He felt something almost soft behind him, attached? He cranks his head back. “Um.”
Mumza smirks. “Yes, Tommy?”
“When did I get wings?” They were similar to crows, but if one looked carefully, the shiny red undertone could be seen vividly.
“They came out while you were asleep. Same way it happened with Philza.”
“Wait, so he got the wings from this deal, not like… being an Avian anyway?”
“Actually, you and Phil are Elytrian, not Avian, Avian can’t fly.”
“Oh.”
“You also have feathers on the sides of your face, like Phil and I do.”
“Wait you have-'' Tommy took a second to try to look at Mumza’s back, and gasped, “You have wings holy fuck.” Mumza cackled. She didn't realize Tommy didn't know.
“Toms, haha, I thought you would know that all the gods have an animal somehow associated with them??”
“No?? They do???”
“Yeah, I’m associated with Crows, The God of Rebirth with Sharks, the Blood God with Hoglin, and the God of Creation with Cows to name a few. But um. That doesn't really matter right now. I know that you said you would take the deal, and if you were to not want the deal now it would be too late, but I’m surprised you took it in the first place, and I want to thank you. You don't need to help the server if you didn't want to, and honestly after what all they have done to you I wouldn't blame you for not. But you decided to anyway. So on behalf of the entire server that doesn't deserve your help after you've given too much time and time again, thank you Tommy.”
“Look, I’m not just doing it for the server, I’m doing it for the ones who are still living, and I’m doing it for myself because.. He wasnt my friend. I don't think that's what friends do. They don't take and take and take until you want to end it. So.. I’m not just doing it for them. And none of us should be getting hurt by anyone on the server.. Not Tubbo, and sure as hell not anyone else on the server.”
“That goes for you too.”
“Yeah, Yeah. Anyway, what kind of plan did you have for me killing Dream?”
“You don't have to follow my plan, and I can't say with confidence that it will work a hundred percent.”
“Okay, continue.”
“So, you're going to wake up as you are now, with wings and all that jazz, under the pillar,” Mumza didn't miss the noticeable flinch Tommy made at the mention of the Pillar. “I’ve thought of a few people in the server that would help you with Dream, but I believe I have the most influence in Technoblade and Phil, since Phil is my husband and I can directly talk to him, and you know how he is with Techno.”
“Yeah I do...but don't they um.” Tommy murmured.
“Don't they what, Toms?” Mumza asked gently. She had a feeling she knew what it was.
“Don't they hate me?” He questioned. Mumza knew that was it, healing isn't linear, especially since not much healing has been happening. She was going to say something to reassure him while she had wrapped him up in a hug but-
“Of course not, sweetheart.” a familiar voice said. Tommy knew instantly who it was, he is dead after all. Looking over, the man’s body seemed to phase in and out of existence, unlike Tommy's now, before the deal, his was the same. He didn't look the same as he did the day he died, surprisingly enough to Tommy. He didn't have his beanie from before, and instead of the red blood leaking out of him as his father watched him dying, he had vibrant blue coming out his bloody stab wound covering his hands as well. He was also wearing round glasses, similar to the ones he wore when he was younger, reminded Tommy of when he actually would do anything to protect him and wasn't insane.
“Wilbur?”

Chapter Text
“Mumza, why is Tommy here?” Wilbur asked. He already knew the answer. No one is able to be in limbo unless they are-
“I could say the same thing to you, asshole. But yeah no it's because I killed myself.”
“You w h a t?” Wilbur panged with recognition. Besides the addition of the wings, he recognized the empty look in his eyes. With the blues and reds of the train station lights matched with the heavy fog, Tommy’s eyes were a stormy grey, something Wilbur never seen on Tommy before. Well.. that's a lie. The weird dreams he would have say different. But that felt mostly good? Tommy and Wilbur got to go on a vacation, and he saw his eyes turn grey and Dream was there!
“Wilbur..” Tommy looked as if he was going to sob. “I missed you. Ghostbur wasn’t the same as you.” And that's when he actually did. And Mumza wasn't going to mention that Wilbur started too. After a while, Wilbur poked his head up from the hug he was giving Tommy, asking Mumza a question.
“So… what did I miss, besides you adding Tommy to the roster of Angels?”
“Well, it's also a deal to kill the one who pushed him to do this, but yeah.”
“You better be not making him do this by himself.. Wait.. does that mean you're reviving him? Doesn't that mean he is basically immortal with only one life?”
“Yes, but I-”
“Uh-” Tommy tried to ask something, but was cut off by Wilbur.
“So you basically signed up a traumatized child to kill his abuser, who is it anyway, I’ll kick his ass.”
“That's not your business, but as for the traumatizing you're one to talk because you're the one who made him a child soldier.”
“Wilbur I-”
“Shut the fuck up, Tommy-” Wilbur shouted before getting cut off by Mumza.
“Do not. Wilbur Soot. Do NOT tell Tommy to shut up, you are not his general anymore, yelling at him makes it worse, got it? You didn't even experience what Tommy’s exile was like besides being an oblivious fucking ghost. Hell, you probably think it was a vacation because you are Ghostbur when you sleep!” Mumza didn't raise her voice. It reminded Tommy of the moment he decided he was going to end it. The moment he started placing blocks higher and higher into the sky.
Wilbur didn't hide the distressed look on his face. That was real? Then if he thought a moment to take it out of a rose tint things were so much more sinister.
It took Wilbur a moment to finally say “I’m sorry, Toms.”
“What?”
“I'm sorry?”
“You're sorry??? Why? Why are you sorry? You didn't do this, Dream did. Even if it was my fault in the first place this happened.”
“Uh? No? Tommy, this isn't your fault. George’s house was just what Dream needed to make an excuse to start manipulating you. It would've been any slip-up for him to have you under his control. He was targeting you, Tommy. George didn't matter to Dream. This isn’t your fault.” Kristin said, grabbing Tommy for another hug of reassurance. Somehow even though she is death, she is so warm.
“Yeah Toms, I agree with Mumza here. This isnt your fault for sure. He is a power-hungry asshole that only wanted to manipulate and control you. Sounds like he was separating you from everyone besides him to do that. But it also sounds like he went too far.”
“But isn't he my friend?” he honestly wasn't sure. It flipped back and forth to his disappointment. Why couldn't I just know?
“He hurt you, Tommy. Is that what friends do? He took your things, forced Tubbo to exile you, and pushed you to kill yourself. Is that what friends do?”
“Tubbo did what-”
“Doesn't matter right now. Tommy, is that what friends do?”
“I don't know! He was the only one there for me!” Tommy yelled, distressed.
“Because he forced everyone away, he threw out the party invitations. He asked Ghostbur to give them to him so he could hand them out and threw them in a lava lake in the Nether. Toms, that's what controlling people do. They cut you off from everyone else so you are the only one you can rely on. It is why he blew up your things every day too.” Mumza asserted.
“Tommy, I don't have the full context of what happened, only Ghostburs memories..but from what I can guess Dream may as well have..” Wilbur took a shaky breath. “Dream isn't your friend Toms. He just isn't.” Wilbur was basically pleading with him at this point to get the hint.
“Okay, okay I get it, I think..” Tommy said.
“Tommy, it's okay if you don't. Healing isn't linear. Just know he has wronged you and whenever the idea that he is your friend pops up just remind yourself.”
“Alright.” Tommy sighed. Boy was he tired. “Can we drop this?”
“I-”
“Wilbur no. Yeah Toms, we can.” Mumza stated. At this point, all of them were sitting on the floor.
“How did you even-”
“ I know how much you pry.” She deadpanned. “Tommy?”
“Uh, yeah?”
“I know you’re probably not ready yet, but it's time to go. Remember the plan?” She asked.
“Yeah, I do, but they aren’t going to side with me.”
“I can speak to my husband. He will help you for sure especially since I'm extremely pissed off at him. I’ll do it before you visit him so he knows that he will be helping you.” She asserted with an easy smile.
“Holy shit my parents are terrifying.” Wilbur muttered loud enough for Tommy to hear.
“Your w h a t?”
“That sounds good?” Mumza asked. She was sad to see Tommy go, but he can't be here forever.
“Uhm, yeah. See you later Mumza. Thank you.”
“I believe in you, Tommy. You and everyone else can help stop Dream.” Death wrapped Tommy in a hug, and it's honestly the most comforted he’s been in weeks. Oh. Maybe much longer than weeks.. Maybe since before the day Wilbur and Tommy left that faithful day to go to Hypixel. Then Tommy went to the Dream SMP, and then Wilbur wasn’t too far behind.
“Thank you.” He murmured, almost embarrassed. Is this what having a mom is like?
“Oh! Almost forgot. Here.” she handed him a short blue cloak, with golden trim. It was more like a poncho, but it had a hood on it. In the center of the chest part, it had a golden brooch that was the heart with time symbol in it. The Hardcore Mode symbol, his mind supplied. Tommy put it on over his wings, and they easily were hidden. It's been a long time since he had new clothes. The last time was the previous exile.
“Thanks again Mumza.” Tommy said as he exited the glowing white portal that made itself known while they were talking.
…
So now it was only Wilbur and Mumza. Mumza would have left as soon as Tommy left back to the land of the living, but she knew WIlbur had something to say.
“Well?? Are you going to say it?”
“Say what?” Wilbur asked incredulously. How does she always know?
“I don't know, you have something to ask. I'm not telling you anything else about what happened with Tommy by the way.”
“No, No. It’s not that.. I mean not really. It does involve Tommy but it's not involving his trauma. I'm not going to pry on it.”
“Then what is it?” Mumza doesn't know why she bothers asking. She already knows.
“I want to go back to help him.”
Mumza gave him a glare.
“Look look, I know I wasn't the best person when I was alive, and I had gone crazy, but we know how Phil and Techno are.”
“They are both.. Awful at emotions.” Mumza agreed.
“Especially Tommy’s. I know Tommy better than both of them, so I should go too! Also, I am good at planning things like strategy, so please I can be useful to them I-”
She had cut Wilbur’s defense off by laughing at him. Oops. Wilbur looked at her with a frown.
“Sorry sorry.. I just- I just knew you would ask. You care about him so much. You do know since this isn't the same way Tommy and your Father did this you won't be like them when revived?”
“What do you mean?”
“Since you've been here so long already, and since you aren’t an Angel of Death, you will be resurrected as a Phantom hybrid. Meaning that you get some extra abilities but you would burn in the sun. Do you still want to do it?”
“Yes, of course I do. ”
“Sometimes you're as dumb as your father.” Though, Mumza thought. A different person made an extremely similar deal already.
“It's worth it.”
“Here, you’ll want this.” It was a hat similar to Mumza’s, in the way it would block out all the sunlight, and how wide it was along with the veil.
“Oh, that's fair.”
“Okay, bye!”
As Wilbur exited to the land of the living, a goat hybrid president was mourning the loss of his best friend.

Chapter Text
A sudden meeting in the Butcher Army headquarters at the order of President Tubbo was the start of Ranboo’s day. He hid behind the familiar buildings, each of them looking fairly similar, the rustic architecture complementing well with the paths that were actually just the large dock over the lake. Ranboo made his way to the lake and sighed.
“Ugh, why did they make the secret base underwater?” Ranboo said as he hopped in, and swam to the area that has the wet lock.
The entrance of the headquarters, it looked similar to the inside of a ravine, the high ceiling covered in glow lichen, some glowberry vines cascading down towards the bottom of the ravine. At the edge of the ravine there were two large spruce doors, where everyone else should be inside. Ranboo felt something, like a deep sense of dread before opening the door that makes you stop in your tracks and makes you rethink your entire life. But he took a deep breath and shoved those feelings down as he pushed open the spruce doors.
Ranboo entered seeing he was the last one here. By the doors was Fundy looking worried about the upcoming news. Quackity was closer to the back, leaning on a ‘Abstract rendition’ of Technoblade, glaring into the details of the stone walls. Then finally in the farthest area of the table sat Tubbo, discheviled, visible tear tracks on his left side. Tubbo couldn't cry out the other eye anymore, because of the large burns on his face. Ranboo still didn't know where those came from.
Something else Ranboo noticed was that none of them were wearing their butcher uniforms.
“So, Tubbo.. You called us all here today?” Fundy asked, moving to sit uncomfortably in the chairs that sat around the meeting table.
“Yeah. It's not good news.” Tubbo croaked, if his voice was sore from disuse or from the amount of crying Tubbo had done before showing up, Ranboo didn't know.
“You might as well rip the bandaid off if it's that bad.” Quackity murmured. The uncertainty was clear in his voice. Ranboo concluded that only Tubbo knew what the bad news was.
Tubbo heaved a shaky sigh, which felt like it was lasting forever.
“Tommy is dead. I.. He killed himself.”
“What?” Ranboo didn't even realize it was him who spoke. Tommy would never. He wouldn't. Unless…
“Tubbo, how the fuck is he dead? He wouldn't kill himself! He’s..” Quackity shouted, punching the table, the empty clay mugs clattering in retaliation.
“Tubbo, he isnt the kind of person. Why would he even-” Fundy was cut off by a more distressed Tubbo.
“Fundy I know what I fucking saw! He had so many reasons to end it and with how the state of his exile was, something happened to push him over the edge! He was a soldier in multiple wars, and the youngest on this fucking server, what do you expect, his mental health to be perfect?? He may have done dangerous things that almost caused this country to be closed in completely by obsidian, but he also gave up his prized possessions to help us win our independence in the first place, along with his first two lives!”
“It was Dream. There's no doubt he pushed him over the edge. He made everyone stay away from Tommy as an order, and for a while Tommy and I were writing letters to each other but they stopped for some reason. I think Dream did it.” Ranboo said, broken. He didn't look at anyone in the room, but he could feel two things: the eyes of the others staring at him and the burning of his tears.
“Ranboo. Is that all you know about it?” Quackity said darkly. Ranboo knew how much he cared about Tommy.
“Yeah basically, the letters we wrote to each other- those should still be at Logsteadshire- they showed mainly how Tommy was doing mentally, but actually being there with him was an.. Experience? I didn't actually see what specifically would happen, but there were enough stray holes that smelled like ash to know what was going on.”
“Wait Ranboo.. There was a town there?” Tubbo asked, uncertain.
“Yeah? It's Logsteadshire. Ghostbur built it, I think.”
“All I saw was a giant crater.. And…” Tubbo shut himself up. Thinking about the crater made him think again about how he saw the pillar that touched the sky. And how at the bottom rest his best friend’s mangled corpse, blood long dried at this point, pooling around his body. Some of his bones stuck out and his back was bent awkwardly. His skin greyed from being dead, and his eyes glazed over, the irises dark and stormy and empty. Even Tommy’s hair, something that always seemed to be something like sunlight, had dimmed.
Tubbo didn't realize he was crying again.
Everyone else was unsure of what to do in this situation. This was the first or second time that they had seen Tubbo this distraught. Besides Quackity.
Quackity and Tubbo were in mostly the same situation during Schlatt’s presidency. A lot of nights, Quackity would find him distressed, but it was nowhere near as much as now.
Everyone (besides Ranboo, he wasn't.) was mad at Tommy at one point for burning down George's house, causing his exile. If they knew it would lead to his death, they would have tried to maybe visit more, or go out of their way to tell Tommy they were there for him as many times as they needed to. Or even more so, tried to do more to stand up to Dream.
Well.. maybe he won't be able to see it, but we can do that for him at least, Tubbo thought to himself. It took everyone a moment to calm down after hearing the news again, but eventually they all sat around the table.
“So.. what are we going to do about Technoblade?” Quackity asked. He was the main one here who actually had an issue with him. Not, you know, the person who got publicly executed and watched the country he died for multiple times get blown up by Withers. Tubbo still dreams in a little too much color, but he didn't hold ill intent towards Technoblade. He even… understood him on some fronts. In terms of political stance, that is. When Tubbo eventually is no longer president of L’manburg, he wants to make an area with no laws but with it being something everyone could collaborate on.
“I know how you feel about Technoblade, but we are going to need his help if we want to deal with Dream.” Answered Tubbo with a tone that Quackity couldn't argue. In another universe, Quackity would hear this when he tried to get Ranboo executed in his own decor.
n
“There's no way Technoblade would side with us though, we’re are just government to that pig.” Fundy bit.
“Dude, that's rude as hell.” Quackity said, his feathers fluffing up. “And all of us are hybrids here, including you, so why did you say that? I get not liking Technoblade, I don't either, don't get me wrong, but you just sound like a fucking asshole, dude.”
“Okay okay I’m sorry. Sorry. But I'm right, he's not going to listen to any of us.”
“Probably not. Though he would probably listen to Phil.”
Ranboo rested his head on the desk, overwhelmed. So much was happening, and one of his best friends had apparently ended their life. And these guys were already making plans on getting this to never happen again.
He absentmindedly watched them talk, all three of them going back and forth, not listening to what they were saying. His eyes were eventually following the cracks in the walls, and didn't even notice when all the others were all looking at them.
“Ranboo.” Tubbo said.
“Uh- yes?” Ranboo asked, and muttered ”sorry.”
“You didn't hear any of that did you?” Quackity asked.
“That would be a no.”
“Okay. You should write this in your memory book, you're gonna need to do this so we can eventually talk to Techno.” Fundy said, pointing at the somewhat worn book in Ranboo’s arms.
“You know, besides the high key Terrorism, you and Techno would probably get along fairly well, Ranboo.” Tubbo said, chuckling to himself.
So they all sat around Ranboo, who wrote down the things he needed to remember for the next meeting, and the other three helped supply the things that Ranboo needed written.
So now Ranboo was here, outside Philza’s house, hearing shuffling inside, and Phil suddenly coming out.
“Ranboo? Sorry I can't talk right now. I have to head out.”
“Can I come with you?”
“Um. No, this is related to some very personal matters, but maybe soon. Someday.” With that, Phil was about to run off, but Ranboo had one more question.
“Phil? Have you seen Ghostbur?” Phil went through a series of almost dark facial expressions, moreso deep in thought.
“He's gone. For good.” Philza ran off into the distance, apparently towards the Nether portal. What the personal thing was, Ranboo trusted that Phil would tell him soon. As for Ghostbur being gone, he wasn't completely sure what that meant.
It was at this point that he realized that he didn't tell Phil about Tommy, without knowing that Phil, after a while, since the day he killed his son, he finally had gotten her call.
And that call included a new disciple and two newly revived boys.
Notes:

Chapter 6: The Road Mostly Taken
Summary:
Tommy and Wilbur head to Technoblade's. Philza receives a message.
Chapter Text
Tommy woke up with a start. He was exactly where he expected to be, under the pillar. He noted how most of his clothes under the cloak that Mumza gave him were covered in blood, he knew. In fact, there was a large puddle of blood under him. By now it was long dried, but it didn't stop Tommy from feeling nauseous. Tommy stumbled away from the pillar towards the direction of Technoblade’s house.
“Tommy!!”
Oh no.
His wings fluffed up in anxiety. What if that's Dream? But wait. That didn't sound like Dream. And it sounded like it was coming from this cave right next to Tommy.
“Wil-Ghostbur?” Tommy relaxed. It's just Ghostbur, but wait..he looks more alive than last time he saw Ghostbur.
“Nope, I'm alive. I can't be in the sun though, which kind of sucks. But I want to help you with Dream. You don't deserve to do this alone.” Wilbur asserted. Despite Wilbur saying he can't go into the sun, he comes out anyway, but not without Tommy shouting at him in panic.
“Oh sorry, I forgot to tell you that as long as most of my skin is covered and with this hat i can walk around in the sun.” Wilbur says with a chuckle. Tommy glared, but it wasn't long until he was laughing at Wilbur.
They were both now on their way to Techno’s Cabin, and it most definitely wasn't in silence, that's for sure. Eventually the sun was at its peak for high noon, and the familiar birch trees that lined the boundaries of Tommy’s exile were more and more sparse.
“So.. Do you think anyone knows you died?” Wilbur asks. They had multiple conversations earlier that day, usually leading to Tommy bullying WIlbur for choosing to burn in the sun. Although, eventually they had realized Wilbur could turn invisible, to their shock.
“I don't know, honestly. I feel like if anyone knows it's Dream.. But he wasn't supposed to be back yet. Wait.” Tommy stopped walking for a second.
“What is it?”
“Are dreams in limbo like… experiences as a ghost?” Tommy asks, remembering the other’s and Mumza’s argument.
You didn't even experience what Tommy’s exile was like besides by being an oblivious fucking ghost. Hell, you probably think it was a vacation because you are Ghostbur when you sleep!
Tommy shuddered. Then when he was asleep, based on that..
“Tubbo knows I died.” Tommy croaked.
“Oh shit. Can you remember because of… uhhhh…”
“We arent going to need to have a Ghost name for me, I can't really die unless I get murdered. But yeah, I saw Tubbo when I was asleep.”
“GhostInnit!!” Wilbur looked pretty happy with himself. Tommy glared at him again. “Haha, Sorry.”
“The ghost memory is really fuzzy.” Tommy pointed out to mainly himself. “Is it the same for you, Wil?”
“Yeah, basically. I can remember most of Ghostbur’s memories, and based off how I have a lot of things similar to Ghostbur’s appearance, we just kinda… merged.” And that was basically true, besides the extremely obvious hybrid traits. How his eyes are no longer muted red and are now so greed they glowed. How some of his skin is has splotches of indigo leathery skin instead of the rest of his warm skin. And how his ears are a little longer and a lot pointier. Oh, and his tail that looks like a spinal cord.
“Yeah..I guess so.”
“Is it getting cold or is am I being sensitive?” As Wilbur said that, it had started snowing, and the sun was going down. Wilbur didn't actually feel that cold, but Tommy was a different story. The cloak he was wearing only was really good for hiding his wings, but it was still blowing around in retaliation for the wind. They had been walking in the snow for about twenty minutes and that was when Wilbur even noticed Tommy’s shivers and slower steps.
“Tommy?”
“What?” Tommy bit, glaring at Wilbur.
“You don't have shoes on.” Wilbur pointed out.
“Wow, I didn't notice.” Tommy laughed sarcastically.
“Shut it, gremlin. We won't make much more ground out here like that.”
“Then let's go.” Tommy started walking until Wilbur gently tugged his cloak. “What?” Tommy emphasized his words, irritated.
“You're not walking without shoes, Toms.”
“What? Of course I’m going to be walking, what do you-” With a yelp (which most definitely NOT a chirp because fuck you no it wasnt) Wilbur was now carrying Tommy with a laugh.
“Techno’s can't be too far away now. I swear I’ve been there before.” Tommy was shouting curses and threats that if Wilbur didn't let him down he would remove his kneecaps, but it didn't take Tommy too long to fall asleep.
…
Philza had been having an interesting day to say the least. After months of silence from his wife, she suddenly makes her call.
“Hey Phil.” She had an easy smile, but he could tell she was mad at him. That came from knowing one another for thousands upon thousands of years. What did he do this time?
“Hey Kristen.. What is it? You seem pretty mad.”
“No no no.. I'm not mad, not at all.” She said sarcastically. “You did just sit by once again while another child once again killed themselves. For the matter, you were there when he was clearly doing badly and you did nothing to help him.”
“Who are you talking about… Wait. Tommy? Tommy’s dead?” Phil laughed in disbelief. Tommy would never. He was like a cockroach, that much showed when he was younger when he first met Tommy. Him and his “country” had a bounty on Phil’s head, and Tommy, the leader, had almost died multiple times and wouldn't stop until he was forced to sign a treaty saying he would stop attacking the Antarctic Empire. And then Tommy and Wilbur got really close, and left for Hypixel, and then they both went to the SMP. And even here, he’s dodged death many times, so for him to be dead is..
“Even if he had died just now, doesn't he have one more life? Wilbur didn't mention to me any more deaths other than when he died in the duel against Dream.”
“Wilbur lied. All of the people in L’Manburg’s army died once in the final control room. Besides Eret. As much as their lives do matter when each got lost, Tommy and Wilbur are alive now and on their way to Techno. You need to help Tommy learn how to fly. And help him kill Dream.”
“What? Fly? Did you make them both Angels of Death? Hasn't Wilbur been dead too long?”
“Wilbur isn't an Angel. He is a Phantom hybrid. Tommy is an Angel of Death like you though. So it's your job to help him, same goes for Techno or I won't hesitate to not talk to you again. I will just talk to people though Tommy.”
“Why do you need Dream dead? Tommy’s suicide can't be the reason, is it? I know you care about Tommy but that can't be the only reason. He's gotta be doing something that makes a Goddess go into action.”
Mumza sighed. There was a reason. “I will tell you soon, but we need him dead more than this discussion right now. Don't get anyone in L’manburg involved yet. Bye Sweetheart!!”
And with that, he had woken up. He had quickly packed the things he needed to help the boys and some things for Techno and quickly threw him a text:
Ph1LzA: She finally answered, but some really important things are happening soon that I need to warn you about. I’ll be over in a few hours.
Technoblade: Okay, but you can't say it over comms?
Ph1LzA: Don't want to risk it. See you in a bit.
…
Technoblade looked the same as always, Phil noted. The tall Piglin hybrid stood confidently, today with no armor on, wearing a pale blue cloak, the same one he wore back in the Antarctic Empire days. The rest of his clothing was the normal attire that he was normally wearing, white button up tucked into something similar to a gi.
“So, what did she say?” Techno said with a wince.
“Chat bad today?” Phil asked, avoiding the previous question.
“They have been for a few days, saying some really upsetting stuff.”
“Like what?” Phil already knew the answer. For as long as Techno has had Chat, Phil knew they had some level of omnipotence.
“Saying that Tommy jumped off a pillar and killed himself.” Techno deadpanned. Techno knew that there was no way that happened, so he just said it as if that was nothing. But when he looked at Phil, who had a terrified look on his face, he knew something was up.
“That's kinda what I'm here about, so I guess that is a good segway.. Tommy killed himself and now he's an Angel of Death with the mission to kill Dream. Wilbur is alive too and they are on their way here to get out help to kill Dream.”
“W h a t?” Techno was taken aback. He saw firsthand how difficult it was for people to kill Tommy, and after all of the things he's been through, he kills himself? Well actually.. That makes sense. The voices seemingly felt very split on this though.
There's no way tommy wouldn't
GUYS HE WAS A KID CTOMMY SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN GETTING ABUSED
It's your fault techno for being a dick
No it wasn't really technos fault, it was dream who pushed tommy over the edge
Why is Cdream is a little,,, yknow ;)
He's a little bit abusive is what you mean
AYO DOES THIS MEAN BEDROCK BROS ARC CANON?
What do you mean by canon we are voices in his head
HEY IS THAT WILBUR AND TOMMY RIGHT THERE?
No it's not chat stop talking for a goddamn second so Techno can listen, for the love of XD
Techno doesn't even believe in prime
He knows Prime is real that's all that matters
Don't start arguments about religion or you will be banned from chat
Can we go see michael?
Wrong chat, previous voice, and wrong timeline michael isn't even here yet
“Techno?” Phil asked, concerned. “Do you want me to help?”
“We both know you can't help phil. Do you know when they are coming?” Techno asks as he lets Phil into the cabin out of the cold weather. Phil starts setting up a pot of tea.
“She didn't give me too much information, besides that Tommy killed himself, both him and Wilbur are back, and that she wants us all to work together to kill Dream. Dream is apparently doing something that he really shouldn't be I guess. Also to not let L’Manburg get involved yet. Ranboo wanted to talk to me about something, I wonder what it was..” the end part was more muttered to himself as he poured the tea into cups, and walked into the cozy living room.
…
Wilbur carefully walked through the icy woodland trails, following the smoke filling the sky, the snow illuminated by the moon, with Tommy in his arms.
“That has to be Techno’s house.” Wilbur said to himself. Walking closer to the source of the smoke, he knew for sure it was Techno’s. He vaguely remembered as a ghost being over there while Phil was there, and Techno was still building the house and Techno wanted help. Wilbur looks down at Tommy resting in his arms. Hopefully they have some stuff Tommy can wear for the time being so he doesn't freeze to death.
Wilbur eventually made it to the cabin, with the moon fairly high in the sky but not midnight yet.
He knocked on the door, mindful of the sleeping Elytrian in his arms.
As Wilbur expected, Technoblade answered the door, who took a look at sleeping Tommy in Wilbur’s arms, and then at Wilbur, and said.
“We have been expecting you, come in. We are both glad you’re back.”
Notes:
i don't want this to be too long but i don't want it too short either. I hope you guys like it though! Also Techno and Phil haven't seen that there is a giant enchanted forest that popped up out of nowhere way earlier than it's supposed to be. I guess Mumza really doesn't want anyone to interfere yet..
Btw so far i have chapters 3-6 on a google doc and it's 17 pages long and i think you guys would think that's neat and this chapter by itself is 6 pages long :)
Also there MAY be more dialogue in the next chapter, sorry in advance
Also also i genuinely thought this chapter would be a little more than Wilbur and Tommy making their way downtown, and Phil being bitched at but honestly that's sort of the vibe isn't it
Chapter 7: A Conversation
Summary:
Wilbur, Phil, and Techno have a conversation. Tommy has a conversation with Mumza. Dream and Sam have a conversation. In Conclusion, lots of conversations all around.
Notes:
If there's any warnings I need for this chapter lmk!!
TW: Sort of an argument??? Or just Wilbur screaming at his father bc he's a bad dad
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Crows’ callings grating at Wilbur’s now much longer ears. It's still strange for him, he will never be able to be in the heat of the sun. He stares at his pseudo brother, resting still in Techno’s bed, and decides it’s still worth it.
Going downstairs, Wilbur feels a little too aware of his surroundings. His spine-like tail whips around in irritation. He knows any moment he will say-
“Wil? Can we talk?” Philza asks, inviting Wilbur to sit down. He glares, and with an annoyed sigh from him and a wince from his father he sits down.
“What do you want?” Wilbur bites.
“I just wanted to ask some things.” Phil seemed hesitant. Wilbur wasn't going to let up on him just because he felt afraid, though.
“Like what, Phil?” Wilbur said, exasperated.
“I mainly want to know what happened... Tommy looked injured when you brought him in, you have been revived, but you had me kill you before. Do you... Regret dying?” Phil asked, faltering under the hard glare that Phil had earned from years of mistreatment of being constantly chosen as the second worry compared to his Father’s best friend.
“That's not your business, if I regretted dying I wouldn’t have gone in the fucking first place.” Wilbur started, eyes wild with burning hot rage. “Tommy looked injured because he’s been getting abused for the last few months by a green teletubby asshole that has a little too much power for a god complex. But YOU should have been aware of that, you visited Tommy in exile but did fuck all. He was suffering and you did nothing. Sounds a little bit familiar.” He bit. The fire from the fireplace seemed to almost darken with Wilbur’s facial expressions but kept an extremely hot temperature nonetheless. Phil shook.
“What do you mean, ‘Sounds a bit familiar? You told me to kill you so I listened.”
“Are you fucking kidding me? That's not what I'm fucking talking about Philza! I’m talking about when I was younger you fucking left when I first found Tommy! You didn't show back up until you actually met Tommy back in the Antarctic Empire! No messages, not a goddamned thing! It was just me and Tommy until Tommy tried to take one of your noncanon lives!”
“I thought... You two met after he tried to assassinate me?” Phil looked at Wilbur, confused and completely missing the point.
“It really shows how much you know us then. But we aren't going to unpack all that right now.“ Wilbur said bitterly. “We need to talk about Dream.” This was the time Techno decided to come into the living room from the kitchen.
“Yeah, for real. Also, not to sound like a dick or anything, but do you know what Dream even did in order for Mumza to want to get Tommy to kill him? Like I get abuse is bad, no doubt... It's just it definitely feels bigger than a homeless teletubbie pushing a child to suicide.”
“It does kinda make you sound like a dick. But.. I don't know. I’m sure there is more than just that, but honestly, I'm here for Tommy. And if that means helping him take down the not-so giant but very green man, then I'm going to help him the best I can. What Mumza’s motives are beyond that I don't know and I don't care at the moment.” Wilbur said straightforwardly. He knew it was probably a bad idea to just go along with it without all the information, but he didn't care. He wanted to help Tommy, and he was willing to live another day just to do that.
“That's…” Philza started, but Wilbur cut him off with a glare. “Anyway, Dream. Dream, how are we going to kill him even, he’s a lot stronger than most of us on the server.”
“Besides Techno.”
“Besides me, L to the green snake man.” Techno boasted.
“And I’m not completely sure of the details yet. But I do have one main idea. Most of the server is against him, or will be if he keeps doing what he is doing. What he was doing to Tommy- from what I can remember as Ghostbur- was an attempt to control the most difficult to control on the server. And it almost worked. But if he keeps trying to control people like that, then it's not going to work in his favor. I think we just need to get the server together for this common goal. I think to do that, one of us should talk to the L'Manburg cabinet and see if they will work with us, which is highly lucky based on what Tommy told me earlier.”
“What did Tommy say to you for you to be so confident about it? I mean, Tubbo gave him up to Dream, right?” Techno asked, Phil looked as if he almost knew the answer or something like that.
“Tubbo saw him dead. Tommy was um... Ghostinnit for a little bit. So L'Manburg’s cabinet knows for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if they are already planning something.”
“We can't interact with L'Manburg yet. But I think you're right about the cabinet knowing. Ranboo ran up to me before I came over and he looked like he was crying a lot.” Phil stated.
“What the hells a Ranboo?” Technoblade asked.
“Ranboo is a minute man for the cabinet, yeah? He was probably in the meeting when Tubbo said something about it. Or since they are close, Tubbo had just told him. Wait. Why can't we talk to L'Manburg yet?”
“Kristen said so. We can't. I’m guessing something is about to happen.”
“... Maybe we should talk about this more when Tommy is awake. He seems to have more information on Dream than you two.” Technoblade said, yawning. Wilbur and Philza agreed. This situation has the most to do with Tommy, so they realized he can't not be in the conversation.
…
Tommy is in a forest. Why is he in a forest?
“Tommy.”
He turns around to see Mumza, making him jump a bit.
“Good fucking prime, why did you sneak up on me like that??” She was smiling so much it crinkled her eyes, something Tommy could only tell because of the goddess’ glow in her irises.
“I honestly didn't mean it, Toms. I’m glad you made it to Techno’s alright.”
“I did??”
“Oh yeah, you were already asleep by that point.”
“Oh.. well, why am I here?”
“I just wanted to mention something. Probably some people to look into joining you in helping you out.”
Mumza and Tommy talked about the people that he will definitely need to help him out. Some were people he knew well, and helped Tommy in the past, some were people he didn't know as well, and then there was one person he didn't know at all.
“Foolish? Who is he?”
“He is a nice guy. He used to be a part of the pantheon, but after desiring to be with his Father traveling the sea, he did exactly that. I mentioned him when we first talked.”
“So he's an actual god? What about his Father?”
“You know his father. She would be helpful to you as well, but I'm unsure if she would be so willing to kill Dream. Unless she finds out what he did. All you would really need to do is show her what he has done. And no She isn't a god. She is only adoptive to Foolish.”
“Okay, honestly not surprising with how some of the adults on this server are.”
“I know this conversation has been incredibly short, but I need to talk to a demi-god real quick, have a nice sleep!”
And just like that, Tommy was having dreamless sleep.
…
Dream asked Sam to meet with him today. For a while, Sam had suspected Dream was doing something awful to Tommy in exile. Maybe today or tomorrow he could visit?
They were sitting across from each other, talking about the importance of the design of the prison to not have any exposure. Maybe today Sam could ask.
“Dream... Who is this prison for?” Sam asked, unsure if he was going to regret asking. Dream’s face, although hidden by that mask, darkened.
“It's for Tommy. He is out of control, he's committed crimes against the Dream SMP and he is going to pay for it.”
Sam’s eyebrows furrowed in concern. Tommy doesn't deserve to get thrown in this prison. His thoughts were interrupted by someone’s footsteps running away. Sam stood to go catch whoever that was who was listening.
“Don't worry, Awsamdude. He isn’t allowed to interfere, even if he wanted to. His rules are more important to him than what he desires.”
“What? Who was-” Sam was freaked out.
“Don't. Worry.” Dream said wildly. He had suddenly stood, now walking away. “Goodbye, for now, Sam.”
So here Sam was, concerned and confused.
Yeah, he should go see Tommy.

Chapter 8: No Longer Your President.
Summary:
Tubbo has something to say.
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
It was a day or two after Tubbo had found Tommy’s corpse. And now here Tubbo was, getting ready to tell the country of L'Manburg about his death. He was almost ready when he heard a knock on his door. Quackity, looking for the first time since L'Manburg had been blown up the second time, looked actually serious. Sure, he had his moments, but Quackity always had this air to him that he would suddenly switch flips and make a bunch of jokes. Not today.
“Tubbo, are you sure you want to do this? L'Manburg isn't going to be the same after this.” Quackity asked, following Tubbo around as he got ready.
“Of course Quackity. I know that our citizens might be scared and confused about this, but it's something I need to do. And it will be the best way to take down Dream until we get Technoblade’s help.”
“Speaking of which, I wonder how all that's going with Ranboo.” Big Q wondered aloud.
“Ranboo told me that as soon as he found Phil he was on his way out of L'Manburg. What Ranboo told me about it was pretty interesting.”
“Oh?”
“Phil apparently said that Ghostbur is gone. I guess that means he moved on or something?” Tubbo said, the last part sounding more like a question more than anything.
“Maybe,” Quackity said. He looked upset, the year of Schlatt’s reign clearly weighing heavily on his soul as he looked onto Tubbo in worry. “Tubbo?”
“Yeah?”
“No matter what happens in the next few minutes out there in that speech you're about to make, we will still be friends, okay?” Quackity stated, looking determinedly into Tubbo’s eyes. Tubbo looked confused, he knew what he was referring to, but wasn't sure why he was worried about that.
“Of course, Big Q.” Tubbo replied with a gentle smile.
…
Jack stood in the crowd along with many of L'Manburg’s citizens, all incoherently wondering where their president was, 5 minutes late, and admiring the stage they made next to the ocean where Tubbo was going to make his speech.
All of Jack’s friends were in on this, whatever it is must be big, right? Then why doesn't Jack know yet? He asked Niki, who tearfully said he will know soon, apologizing that he can't know yet. Because it’s L'Manburg cabinet business, Jack hisses to no one but himself.
He mutters, “you see this shit, chat?” only to be met with a length of pogs, and suddenly someone taps on his shoulder. He feels like he’d recognize him somewhere, but his face is completely blocked off by his large hat with a blackout veil on it.
“H-Hello?” Jack stutters out. God, he is tall. He swears he sees a tail or something by his legs, but as soon as it was there it was gone.
“Hello there. What's going on? This is my first time being here in person.” the man says, and Jack doesn't believe him for a second. He sounds too familiar to be not someone from around here.
“...The President is about to make a speech, but he’s a few minutes late. If you stick around, you will probably get to see him, ya wrongun.” Jack muttered the last bit, about this hybrid man being a wrong un.
“Oh? I wonder what it's about. He usually doesn't wait until the last minute to announce things like that. Must be important.” The man said, mainly to himself.
As Jack was about to shout at him, mainly to ask what the bitch’s name is, he turned to see him gone.
“Huh? The Fuck?” Jack said, eloquently. But before Jack could investigate any further, Tubbo had arrived onto the stage. With all the different mid-tone browns of the woods that made the stage, Tubbo’s dark brown hair made his light tan goat horns stand out. He was also wearing a light green tie, which contrasted everything else around Tubbo. Quackity, Fundy, Niki, and Ranboo were standing towards the back of the stage. Something common with all of them was the sullen looks on their faces. It was like their best mate had died or something. Tubbo heavy-handedly tapped the mic, checking how it was working.
“Hello citizens of L'Manburg, sorry to pull you all out here on such short notice, I just wanted to say some important things to you all, and it would be the easiest to tell you all like this,” Tubbo stated, but for some reason this made Jack have shivers go through his spine.
What happened??
Tubbo took in a shaky breath and continued. “A few days ago, I went to Tommyinnit’s exile. The exile was all blown to bits, and there was a single tower that went up to the reaches of the sky. At the bottom, was Tommy. For those who are new around here, Tommyinnit gave up not only his discs, which were something special to him, and he gave up two of his canon lives for this country. He’s my best friend. I exiled my best friend. But we have reason to believe some things happened to cause his suicide-”
Jack froze. He killed himself?
“And the L'Manburg cabinet will be investigating personally into it. Besides one person. I will still be investigating but..”
But? What do you mean but, Tubbo?
“I won't be doing it as a part of L'Manburg.” Tubbo breathed for a second or two, letting the audience get increasingly louder with volume.
“Hey hey, quiet down!!” Fundy shouted. The crowd did, but they were still much like Jack, angry and confused and horrified.
“I, Tubbo Underscore, am no longer your president. I am no longer mentally able to rightfully protect my nation without being manipulated by others. I shouldn’t have been president in the first place, but that doesn't matter anymore.”
“What?” Jack said, in disbelief.
“As this is my farewell address, I wanted to say some things.” Tubbo looked over to Ranboo, who was still standing by Niki, but then awkwardly shuffled up to Tubbo and handed him a letter.
“I wanted to first apologize that I'm not staying with you all this entire term, but I feel like if I stay as the leader of this great country then I will inevitably make a mistake. With that done I have some recommendations for the next President in line, current Vice President Quackity.”
Jack wasn't sure how to feel about someone like Quackity being president.
“Quackity, I know you may not even listen to these things, especially given your feelings on it. In order to succeed in this term, you will need to have stronger relations with others among the server. You know what I mean about that, so I'm not going to clarify. Don't split the country. Make sure the citizens get a choice. I will share information about the investigation as I go. Farewell, L'Manburg. President Quackity?” President Tubbo- no, just Tubbo gestured to the new president to come to the podium.
“You know... I didn't expect that. Good on Tubbo.” The hybrid man from earlier said, seemingly directing it at Jack.
“Yeah good on him, though I expect that much from him, he just lost his best friend, and he is 17. Like he might as well be a fetus.”
“You're not much older Jack.” Jack Manifold stopped all previous thoughts.
“How do you know my name?” Jack says, glaring at the man. “For that matter, you seem to know how old I am.”
“Um. Fuck.” The man said so eloquently. And with that, he started walking away from the crowd, only for Jack to follow. Jack followed him through the crowds of sobbing citizens, and they eventually filtered out and the man ran into Phil’s house.
“Oi, Ya cock! That's Phil’s house!!” Jack shouted out after the man, who entered anyway. Why didn't Phil keep the damn place looked like an intelligent man? Does he not fear Death?
Jack ended up following after him, and he knew he had the man in a corner.
“Shit, I thought this would work out better than it is.” the man said, still very concealed under the veil.
“Yeah, you dumbass, you might as well tell me who you are and I might let you leave,” Jack replied.
The man sighed and muttered something along the lines of “Fine.. I’ll do it.” and with that he took off his hat, revealing a very alive Wilbur Soot.
“What the Fuck!!!” Jack shouted. Arent you fucking dead? We all saw you die, how are you here, Jack wanted to ask.
“I got revived by my mother, doesn't really matter. You can't tell anyone though. Not yet.”
“There's a lot to unpack there, but I honestly don't want to know!!”
“Stop shouting Manifold,” Wilbur hissed.
“Why are you here??”
“I wanted to check if L’Manburg knew about Tommy.”
“What?”
“It was Dream who did that, pushed him to the edge. I’m sure Tubbo knew that. Anyway Jack Manifold, I need to go. Sorry for not being able to talk to you more and I will send you some messages.” Wilbur’s tail whipped around anxiously- His What? as Wilbur put back on his hat and left.
…
Tubbo was packing his things. He was glad that he could finally do something of his own rather than keep up someone’s dying memory. Yeah, he loves L’Manburg, but he or anyone else shouldn't have suffered as much as they have for it. Tubbo took one last walk in L’Manburg before he started going north. He couldn't help but notice the tall enderman hybrid trailing not too far behind.
“What are you doing?” He asks Ranboo, who is holding a heavy-looking coat, made out of leather and wool from the looks of it.
“You're going to freeze out here!” Ranboo says panicked, shoving the coat in Tubbo’s arms. Ranboo reminded Tubbo of someone who was royalty but had a bunch of cliches that only happen in storybooks. He did have a crown, after all. Although that wasn't the only reason, Ranboo just had this air to him.
“This is for me?” Tubbo quirked an eyebrow, not surprised that Ranboo gave him a gift. He distantly remembers when Ranboo first got onto the server, Tommy had told Tubbo about Ranboo giving him an allium. He misses Tommy. “Thanks. Are you following me because you want to come with?”
Ranboo nods his head excitedly. He then shows that he had a bag on him, likely carrying most of his belongings.
“Yeah, I thought so, you wouldn’t have followed me into the snow just to give me a coat.”
Ranboo sputtered, flustered. “Yeah I would!” but he looked forward and saw, Oh hey He’s totally moving-
“Hey wait up!!”
