Summary
For decades, mankind has suffered – first from overpopulation, inequality and economic stagnation, then the Third World War, and finally the breakdown of the international community as it tried to pick up the pieces.
It failed. In its stead rose six corporations. It was they who invented the mighty weapon that ended the Third World War – the piloted humanoid robot known as the Armored Core. It was they who took charge of economic recovery in the post-war years. It was they who gave the survivors a glimpse of a better, united future – even if such a future is a mirage.
Now the corporations rebel. The armies of Rayleonard, Global Armaments, Rosenthal, Leonemeccanica, Eqbal, and the Bernard and Felix Foundation are assembled. Their forces match those of the vast national armies, but it is their secret weapon which grants them the decisive edge.
Across the world, the new generation of Armored Cores enter action. Powered by potent Kojima particles and slaved to their pilots’ nervous systems, these NEXTs are the true shape of things to come.
