Chapter Text

RAPH 

I was passing my little brothers room the door was open and he was inside playing silently with his toys. I stepped in smiling the only one that I will give my baby bro. 

"Hey Mikey can I join?" I asked stopping in the door way. He looked up his eyes were dull, and there were tears in them. I frowned and went up to him and pulled him into my plastron. He sobbed into my hard covered chest. He dropped the toys so he could wrap his arms around me, he curled his legs close he could be pulled in more.

"What happened little brother?" I asked petting his head and letting him sob. 

"Leo and Donnie won't ever love me, I asked them to play but they wouldn't even look at me. I don't know what I did wrong." Mikey sobbed his breath hitching to catch his breath. 

"Hey that's not true Mikey they love you just as much as they love me. They just have a different way of showing it. Why don't we play together then I'll go and talk to them while you help Dad with cooking?" I asked letting him pull back, he still had tears in his eyes but he was smiling and nodded. I took up one of the toys he was playing with before and he jumped in a big smile on his face. I smiled as well and we played for hours until it was time for Mikey to help Master Splinter with dinner. 

He jumped up and bounded to the door, he turned back with a big smile and waved.

"Thanks Raph," he said before leaving. I smiled and put the toys away for him and went to find my other brothers. They were in the living room watching a cartoon that Leo was becoming far to fond of. 

"Hey guys can I ask you that you try to spend time with Mikey he feels like you guys don't love him,," I said walking up to the couch. They looked at me a confused look in their eyes. 

"What do you mean Raph of course we love him we just can't spend all day with him," Donnie said going back to the TV. Leo nodded he also went back to the TV. 

I scoffed at that and went to the kitchen seeing Mikey sitting at the table a sad look in his eyes. I sat next to him and put my hand on his shell.

"What's going on Mikey?" I asked he looked at me his bright blue eyes were shimmering with unshed tears. 

"Master Splinter doesn't want me to help him. What did I do? He always lets me help, what did I do?" He asked his eyes going to our father who didn't even look back at his distressed son. 

"I don't know why don't we go to my room and play with Spike?" I asked hoping he would cheer up with me playing with him. 

He perked up and nodded, I looked to Master Splinter who didn't even look back and I scowled. This was getting worse and worse. We are five and Mikey already wants to hide from everybody. I will not let him do that, he is my my little brother he is the most important being in my life and he was sad. 

'That's it the next time they do this I'm taking him away. He does not need to be beaten everytime he wants to do something.' I thought as I steered Mikey into my room. Mikey ran to the tank that I had set up for Spike my pet tortoise. His tank a was set up how he needed a d only came out with my supervision I am very protective of my tortoise. 

Mikey waited patiently for me to let Spike out and I did setting him on the bed. Mikey smiled and hopped up his bright orange face mask tails bouncing from the force. 

ONE WEEK LATER

It happened again the others had pushed Mikey away, and I was done. He was laying in my bed a stuffed rabbit in his arms, he snuggled with it and whimpered. It was final our family didn't care for Mikey but I did and I wasn't standing by to let him be punished for something that he doesn't understand. I got up and left the lair, it was dark and no one came out to investigate, I slipped out running down tunnels and pipes to find somewhere that Mikey and I could call home. 

It took another week, but I did it. I had found it by accident, I had slipped  and found the perfect place. Now all I needed to do was pack up some things for Mikey and I to take and we would not be here to be mistreated again. 

"Raph are you sure about this?" Mikey asked he was packing his room after helping with mine. 

"Yes Mikey I am, I don't like how you are being treated we are leaving and never coming back. I found the perfect spot not even Master Splinter can find it." I said putting the last of his things in the water proof bag. I had Spike, in his tank in a water proof tank so that I could transfer him. 

"Okay Raph of your sure we will do this, I'll follow you to the ends of the Earth," he said he smiled big a real smile and I smiled back. I picked up Spike and my bag and he picked up his. We snuck out of the lair and dashed around so many tunnels trying to confuse Master Splinter if he tries to sniff us out. Then I led Mikey to the pool of water that I had found, I dove in followed by Mikey who clung to my shell he was still not a confident swimmer. I swam to the other opening this place had and popped my head out of the water and placed Mikey on the ledge so he could shake himself dry. 

I followed him setting our stuff down, the place was spacious, big enough for Mikey and I to grow, several room stemmed out making it so the largest room was the main room, with two hallways extending our forming two rooms on either side of the main one. There was anther room on the far back. It was empty but it was our new home. A place we could call our safe spot. No one to hurt us here, we just needed to set it up to live in. Little by little we will open up new parts of ourselves to explore and find a spot here in our home, but we will and it will be awesome. 

That night after finding food and eating before coming back into our home. We were snuggled on a nest of blankets and pillows, Mikey resting his head on my chest, I had my arms wrapped around him and we just were for a moment.

"Thank you Raphie for not giving up on me."

Chapter Text

SPLINTER

I woke in the morning expecting to see my youngest in the kitchen waiting to help with breakfast, we would spend time one on one doing something he loves, it had started to grate that he would show enthusiasm for cooking but not for training. So I had been pushing him away. Hoping he would start to show more enthusiasm for training. 

As I entered the kitchen I did not see my youngest in there with his apron and holding a wooden spoon ready to cook. I twitched an ear at that did I push to hard he did not want to spend time with me any more? I moved to his room and opened the door quietly making sure not to wake the sleeping turtle inside, but I did not need to bother for he was not in there. 

Shock ran through me freezing my veins and making my fur stand on end. I moved to Raphael's room hoping he was in there with Michelangelo having come to spend the night with him. I opened the door and froze neither were in there. I ran to my eldest's room and flung the door open, he was there sitting up and rubbing his eye from being woken up. 

"Sorry my son, but did you see Raphael or Michelangelo before going to bed?" I asked hoping he had seen his two brothers. He thought for a moment.

"I saw them going into Raph's room when it was bed time," he said his large blue eyes wide. I signed and relaxed my muscles hoping to be able to find the two turtles. 

"I need to go look for your brothers I will be back soon, keep Donatello here you are not to leave the lair," I said closing his door once more. I went to the two boys rooms and got their scent logged into my brain. 

I went down tunnel after tunnel, pipe after pipe, following the scents. It was maddening, once I would get a scent it would lead me in circles. More of chasing my tail then finding my sons. 

I signed going back to the lair empty handed, Leonardo was in the living room with Donatello both of them waiting on news about their brothers. 

"I could not find them my sons I am sorry," I said I had failed my sons I could not do it again.

"Master Splinter here I found this in Raph's room," Donatello said handing me a piece of paper. I took it and opened to find Raphael's hand writing spelling the words 'we have left, something Leo and Donnie had been hinting to Mikey, I will not stand by and let you beat him everytime he does something he likes that you don't. We will not be found so don't even try, we will raise ourselves we don't need you.'

Michelangelo's was under it 'bye I guess I did something wrong I'm sorry it had to go this way' there was a sad face after it and tears marking the page smudging the page. I held close to my heart. I had pushed the two away and it cost me them. I will not make that mistake again. I looked to my other boys who were waiting for what to do. 

"Come it is time for breakfast let's eat then we will discuss what to do."

MIKEY

I woke to Raph holding me still his arms around my shell. I sat up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. I looked back down to my brother and smiled he had kept his promise of getting me out of the bad place. He found this really cool place and everything. I started to look around we had set up our nest in the big main room and so going down the hallways and finding that they were all separate it was really cool. I went to the other side and saw that the rooms were connected by a small crawl space. I went through to the other room and smiled I liked that we could have our rooms here be connected through the crawl space. 

I went back out to the main room and found the last hallway leading to another good sized room with a small alcove. 

I ran back out to the main room; "Raph! Raph! You have to come look at this!" 

I froze when Raph rose from the nest still bleary-eyed from sleep. 

"Whoops, sorry Raph, I thought you had woke up already," I said bringing my hands up to my plastron scared.

"No it's fine Mikey I promise, no need to be scared I ain't gonna yell or anything. Needed to get up anyway, what did you wanna show me?" He asked getting up and coming over to me. I still flinched at his raised hand but he only patted my head then brought me into a hug. 

"I wanted to show you the layout I thought of and what you think of it," I said realizing he wasn't going to hurt me and that I could be myself.

LEO

It's been a week and Raph and Mikey were still missing. Donnie was in his room trying to come to terms that he had lost two brothers. I didn't know how to feel, on one hand I was feeling upset that two of my brothers were gone, then the other I was mad that they had run off without saying anything. Then the confusion on the tail end bringing with it the question of why did they run like that? What did we do that made them do this? 

I went to the dojo I saw Master Splinter sitting under the tree his eyes closed and his eyes closed. I stepped closer and patted him on the shoulder. He looked up his red-brown eyes were dull with grief. 

"Master Splinter what are going to do? Do we stop looking for them or just keep an eye out for them?" I asked I wanted to find my brothers and drag them home, drag them home and never let them out of my sight. They needed to be brought back so we can apologize for.... what ever we had done to make them leave. 

" I will be keeping an eye out for your brothers do not worry, you and Donatello are not allowed out by yourselves, I wish to keep you two here with me," Splinter said and I nodded already agreeing with my father he knew everything or else he wouldn't be a father. So what was it that made my brothers want to leave that safety?

I went back to the living room I couldn't even watch my cartoons anymore, all I remember is Raph coming up and telling us to be nice to Mikey.

"What did we do?"

RAPH

It's been a month of us living here and Mikey was already feeling better he was happier then we were in the lair. That's all I ever wanted for my little brother I always want to see his bright smile and sparkling eyes. 

The month went by fast gathering supplies for the place. It turned out Mikey is actually really smart with engineering. After seeing him put a camara together from tiny pieces, I asked if he learned from Donnie.

"No he would yell at me if I got to close to his things, but I did steal his books on the subject read them at night and put them back. I was able to remember it all." I growled at the thought of Donnie yelling at Mikey, but I squashed the thought down and focused on praising Mikey. He puffed up with pride and went to make a security system like we had at the lair. It has a sensor right outside the pond so we could know if some one was sniffing around.

Splinter almost fell in once on a mad dash past and Mikey and I laughed at his misfortune. "I did the same thing but I had fallen in and found the place, I bet if I had told him that he would have lectured me on ninja nonsense and made me train longer " I said pointing at the fallen rat. 

Mikey had laughed and we spent the rest of the day making fun of the others. 

"This place is great right Mikey?"

DONNIE

It's been three months. Three miserable months on trying to find Mikey and Raph, no luck though.

I tried to think back to find out why my little brother abandon me with this. Wasn't I good enough for them? What did I do to make them leave? What can I do to bring them back? Would they even want to come back? 

Training had ended and I went down memory lane trying to think back to what could have made my family separate. 

'Shut up Mikey!'

'Stop Mikey your only going to break it!' 

'Mikey go away you only mess things up!'

I gasped those words were being thrown at me by my brain. Could that be it? Could it be what we had said and done to Mikey that made them leave.

I ran to Master Splinter he was in the dojo meditating.

"Master Splinter I think I know why they left."

Chapter Text

SPLINTER

I stood in my youngest's room his things had been untouched for six months now. I stepped in looking around at my son's room. The bed was untouched they had never slept that night. It was also the same day he had not tucked them into bed, or read to them, something Michelangelo was very fond of. 

I sighed, my ears went back with guilt, the words that Donatello had said swimming through my head.

FLASHBACK

"Master Splinter I think I know why they left," my new youngest had come running into the dojo his eyes filled with tears.

"Tell me my son what is your thoughts?" I asked watching him kneel in front of me. 

"I was going over what I had said to Mikey, and all I remember is yelling at him and pushing him away. Did you or Leo do the same?" He asked bowing his head. I became shocked they left because we were mean to them? Why couldn't they talk to us? Did they try and we ignore them? So many questions flooded my brain that I had to shake them free.

"Yes my son I had been pushing Michelangelo away for I wanted him to focus on training more then he did on cooking," I said bowing my head. 

"I wonder if Leo did as well?" Donatello asked not looking at me. 

"My son I am not upset or disappointed with you, we have all done this and we are all to blame. The only thing to focus on now is to find your brothers so we may apologize to them."

"Right we need to find them."

END FLASHBACK

We haven't found them, it was like they had vanished off the face of the Earth. I slipped into Raphael's room to find it bare they took most of his stuff along with the tortoise he had found and raised. I wonder if I will ever see my two boys again, or will they never want to see us again? I can only hope they are safe and well.

MIKEY

A year away from the family did us good, Raph wasn't angry anymore with only me to deal with. I was in my lab working on a project for Separation Day, celebrating the day we became ourselves. Raph was topside looking for something, he wouldn't tell me what it was. Said it was a surprise. I smiled, Raph was going to love this gift. 

The figures were done, a delicate statue of me and Raph. Raph was laughing at something I said and I was on one foot hands held up in the middle of a story. I had strategically placed Raph's hand on my shoulder to hold me in place the base was a metal piece that I had found. The statue made of wood.

ONE HOUR LATER

Raph was back holding a box, I ran to him and gave him a hug. I love my brother more then anything in the world I wouldn't know what to do if he was gone. 

He hugged me back setting the tank that held a large box. We had dinner before the present exchange, I had made BBQ chicken with some corn and green beans. The veggies grown in our green room, the chicken cooked on the fire pit. While we are good at making things I needed the actual item to fix not build from scratch. 

Raph and I sat in the main room the sound of water rippling next to us from The Pond. I handed Raph his present, and he tugged me close kissing my head. I smiled happy that he loved it.

"Thanks Mikey I love it, this must have took you so long to make," Raph said putting the statue down next to him. 

"Yeah it took me about three weeks, though part of that was learning wood carving and then doing it," I said scooting back to my spot. 

"Well here you go, your present I hope you like it," Raph said handing me the box. It was almost as big as us I wonder how he got it down here. 

I opened it to look inside, I gasped inside was a rabbit in a cage eating a lettuce leaf. Around it were the supplies to care for it. 

"Raph thank you so much, I love her," I said I reached in the get the cage out Raph coming over to help. 

"No problem Mikey, I know how much you love rabbits and she was abandoned by her owner. I took her in and had Jake help get the supplies for her. She had a name I guess from her previous owner, but Jake says she's only a baby so you can still name her something different." 

I squealed with happiness, my very own pet. While I love Spike he was Raph's pet not mine. So I was happy to have one. I looked over the rabbit seeing something that I had recently been introduced to. 

"Her name is Chocolate," I said holding her close. 

LEO

It's been over a year, I thought that my brothers would be found by now. But they weren't, I was sitting in the living room 'Spaceheroes' on. I was looking at a picture of my brothers they were smiling, but not me or Donnie they were smiling at each other. They were close together heads held close and eyes closed with smiles. Donnie and I were looking at the camera, smiling at Master Splinter who took the picture. But Mikey and Raph were only into each other. 

I sighed I missed them, but as I think back I didn't spend time with my brothers. I felt tears leaking from my eyes and I sobbed at the loss of my family, at the loss of memories that could never be. 

But would those memories even be there if I just ignored my family? I couldn't let that happen again. I still have my brother and father and I couldn't let them go. 

"I need to keep my family together, nothing can tear us apart again."

RAPH

Two years after leaving and Mikey still surprises me, his garden was growing so big. His lab was becoming filled with new projects, like a computer system that keeps our home safe. He even named it, we now live in The Cavern. I checked the cameras that Mikey had set up around The Cavern making sure that the coast was clear. Splinter had been snooping around lately and we needed to steer clear of him.

Mikey actually made a drill that made another opening for us to use as an escape or a secret passage to the topside. Our friends would get worried if we didn't show up. Mikey was with them right now playing with a couple of kids that didn't mind our differences. 

I froze when Splinter passed a camera before realizing he can't see me. He looked around before his ears fell and sadness entered his red-brown eyes. He sulked away his tail trailing on the ground.

I went back to the living room and The Pond. I dove into the water. I swam to the other entrance and popped out. Splinter was gone and I needed to grab a few things. I snuck through the shadows passing our cameras and grabbing ones that Donnie had put up. His wasn't for security though, his were trying to find Mikey and I. I will not allow that maggot anywhere near my baby brother again.

DONNIE

I was setting up more cameras they kept being taken but I never get there in time to find who is doing it. I sighed looking over to a picture of my missing brothers. It was only them in the picture smiling wrapped around each other. Mikey was on Raph's back his arms held out in front of him his eyes were closed and his face was so bright. Raph had his head turned towards Mikey his eyes were soft and gentle, his arms were behind him holding Mikey up. He had such a soft smile on his face that I had never seen directed my way.

I didn't understand it, I didn't understand at all. I know Raph loved Mikey, but why did he love him more then Leo and I? What did I do to get ignored by my immediate older brother? Could I have done something different to make him like me?

I put the last camera up and walked home my head hung low not willing to give up on my brothers. They will come weather they like it or not. I growled as I entered the tunnel, I lifted my head to glare at the wall. I'm ready to get my brothers.

Chapter Text

SPLINTER 

SEVEN YEARS LATER

I had given up hope of ever seeing my two boys ever again. The other two had been in raged when I told them we had to give up. I couldn't put them through it anymore. We all felt the loss of Raphael and Michelangelo. 

I had packed up their bedrooms and stored it away. Donatello insisted he keep a few of Michelangelo's stuffed toys. I had seen him prop them up on his desk. I feared that Donatello was becoming depressed and had Leonardo keeping an eye on him when I could not. 

He had readily agreed to it and spent as much time as he could with his remaining brother. I grew resentful, if we had only been like this from the start this never would have happened. 

I stood from my meditation and went to the living room my two boys were on the couch watching a cartoon, Leonardo explaining the show and Donatello writing notes on a project. They were close together almost cuddled on the couch. I sighed quietly and moved to the kitchen my 12 year olds would be getting hungry for lunch soon and neither of them could cook. 

I winced at that thought, my only son that did enjoy cooking and was quiet good at it was gone and never coming back. Tears weld into my eyes and I let a few slip before straightening and going to cook. 

“Oh Michelangelo, Raphael why did you have to leave us?“

MIKEY

Raph and I just turned 13 we were going topside for a food restock. I had noticed something off, the sound of metal and someone screaming. I broke away from Raph. My first mistake, I turned a corner to see several humans surrounding a slightly larger then Raph crocodile being attacked. I growled lowly and reached for my gun it was strapped to my belt bumping my leg. I leveled it to a human's head and shot. The human didn't fall, a gaping hole in his skull, but no blood or anything. 

I gasped the human was a robot, it had made me stumble, but the croc groaning brought me back. I charged in using my laded staff to stab at the bots. I distantly heard Raph come charging in, it had distracted me long enough for a bot with claws for fingers came at me clawing my arm. I screamed grabbing my arm. 

“You will not interfere with Kraang again,” I looked up seeing him bring his hand down on my head. My eyes widened tears gathered in the corners. I flinched closing my eyes not ready to die but he was to close to dodge. The pain never came I opened my eyes expecting to see Raph having come at the last second as he always does, but it wasn't Raph it was the croc. 

He had grabbed the bots arm in a crushing grip. He looked at me his yellow green eyes going to my wounded arm before leveling back on my blue ones. 

“Did he hurt you any more?“ He asked his deep voice sending chills down my shell. I never knew a voice could do such a thing. I shook my head completely tongue tied. 

“Good, then let's finish this,” he said sending the bot flying straight into Raph's range of enemies. He looked up his toxic green eyes widened when he saw my arm. I nodded to the bot.

I stumbled and fell, the croc stopped me from hitting the concrete I was falling into blackness the last thing I hear is: “you did what to my brother? Do you wish to die?“

LEONARDO

I woke screaming the nightmare still fresh in my mind. I curled into a ball tears streaming from my eyes and blinding me. I felt a hand wrap around my shell and bring me into a hard chest. It was Donnie, I sobbed into his chest and felt tears hitting my head. 

I looked up to see he was crying to.

“Donnie did you have a nightmare to?“ I asked wiping mine away, my brother needed me. Shock ran through me, where was that mentality when Mikey had needed me or Raph. 

“Yeah I did, I dreamt they had died,” he whispered his voice had become monotone after Master Splinter had announced that we were no longer looking for our brothers. 

“I did too, do you think they are okay?“ I asked letting him cuddle into my chest and laying us down on the bed. 

“I hope so, they need to be so we can apologize for neglecting them. Why did Splinter have to give up we could still be looking for them and have them home safe and sound. Have them here so we don't have to wonder and hope that they are safe.“

“I know Donnie, but he is our father he is the one who makes the rules. We can't go against him,” I said holding him tighter. 

“I know thanks for being here Leo,” he said going to sleep. 

“Your welcome Donnie, love you.”

“Love you too.“

RAPH

I was fighting the bots alongside Mikey I had heard him scream and was going to turn around then, but a bot almost clocked me. I was surrounded by them and I smirked they were in for a treat. I grabbed my blades from my shell pack. And the dance began, I was a twister of blood and blade. When a bot was thrown towards me. I looked over to Mikey and the croc he had went to protect. Mikey's arm was completely covered in blood my eyes widened and the world tunneling into the wound on my brother's arm. He nodded to the bot that was thrown at me, before passing out and the croc holding him. I narrowed my whitened eyes.

“He almost killed him, I stopped him,” the croc said his tail lashing.

“You did what to my brother?“ I asked looking to the bot who's expression didn't change. “Do you wish to die?“ 

I charged in my blades slicing through bot after bot I didn't leave anything standing or breathing except for Mikey and the croc, who was wrapped around Mikey protecting him to the best of his abilities. 

“Thank you for protecting Mikey when I couldn't,” I said exchanging my blades for a roll of bandages that would hold until we got back the the Cavern. “You can follow, unless you have a home already.“

“Thank you I will follow, I have a home, but I wish to make sure he is safe,” he said nodding to my little brother. I nodded and picked up Mikey and went home food could wait I needed to help Mikey. 

“Hold on little brother I've got ya, your gonna be okay.“

DONNIE

I was in my lab a camera in my hand. I had tears in my eyes streaming quietly down my cheeks as I looked at the footage. I saw a blurry picture of Mikey, or at least I believe it's him. I could be wrong and that's why Splinter doesn't believe me. 

I couldn't do it anymore the unknown has been haunting my every step since my brothers had gone missing and I couldn't keep it together any more. I missed them so much that I just wanted the pain to stop. 

I felt arms around my shell and I sobbed into Leo's arms. He seemed to always know when I needed him. I clung to him and let all my frustration and fear out in long echoing sobs. 

I don't know how long I was like that, but in that time I was moved to my room and Leo was holding me on his lap. I closed my eyes listening to his heart beat and fell asleep. 

I woke to the sound of Leo's heart beat, looked up at him to see he was sleeping. His arms around me tightened when I tried to move and he whimpered. I stilled and laid on his chest thinking. I needed better proof that Mikey and Raph were still out there for Master Splinter to believe me. So first thing to do is build smaller cameras and set them up everywhere. I was mapping it out in my head while I waited for Leo to wake up. 

His breathing and my mapping calmed me, and I fell asleep again, not seeing Master Splinter coming in and tuck us under the blanket. He kissed our heads and left. 

LEARHERHEAD

the small turtle that had saved me, was laying on his bed after getting stitched up, his brother Raphael was cleaning his hands from the blood.

“So what were you doing out there?“

I looked up to see Raphael entering into the room. I looked back to the other one that I was told was named Michelangelo. I sighed and sat on the ground, before looking back to the turtle, his toxic green eyes never left my yellow green ones.

“I was out hunting for some food, when I was jumped by them. They had been after me for a while now seeing as I stole something that they need to take over the world. I wouldn't have gone up if it wasn't for the fact that I needed to get food.“ I looked to the turtle once more and his expression changed before it was closed off not fully trusting me. 

“I see well if you need help hiding it, we are more then willing to help. If it's to protect the world we will help. Right Mikey?“

I looked to the smaller of the two who was sitting up his bright blue eyes open. I smiled thankful the little one was okay. 

“Yeah we can help you protect it. I like Earth and don't want it taken over by the Kraang,” Michelangelo said I flinched at the word Kraang, trying to keep my self together. 

“Hey you okay?“ Raphael asked going back into doctor mode. “Did you get hurt and didn't tell me?“

I shook my head and was calming, “no I am fine, the aliens that we fought today had me held captive and experimented on me. When I hear their name I tend to lose control thinking they are near.“

“Oh well we won't say it again, sorry about that,” Michelangelo said smiling and giving a thumbs up with his uninjured arm.

“Thank you I appreciate that, and no need to be sorry you did not know about it, I am thankful for you stepping in.“

Chapter Text

LEO

I circled my brother, my eyes not leaving his almost blood red ones. He welded his bo-staff spinning it on his shell, to dodge my attempt at disarming him. I spun on my heel swiping down with my sword. Donnie dodged the move and thrust his staff at my center. I blocked it and flung it across the room. He was weaponless, I put my swords away.

“Leonardo you have the upper hand, your enemy is weaponless, and you have yours why put them away?“

I stood straight and turned to my father, I bowed hands at my side Donnie coming to join me after collecting his weapon.

“Because it's dishonorable to fight a defenceless opponent,” I said confidently.

“Very good my son, training is over you may go,” Master Splinter said turning to go to his room. I frowned he had been spending a lot of time in there. Though the Date was coming. The day that my other brothers had left. The Day that our world came crashing down around us. 

Donnie fled back to his lab as soon as he was released. The lab door slamming closed, I sighed and walked out to the living room, Master Splinter following. He split off to go to the kitchen to start lunch and I went to the TV putting on my favorite cartoon. 

The sound of the cartoon brought Donnie out and he sat on the couch next to me, laying his head on my shoulder. We had made it out mission to be allowed out today and we were not backing down this time.

“Lunch is ready you two,” Master Splinter calls from the kitchen. I turned off the cartoon before getting up and Donnie following went to the table. 

Some time after we were sitting in silence, I tapped my brother's leg with my foot, gaining his attention. I nodded to our father and he nodded. 

“So Master Splinter I was thinking that now we are 15 we could finally go top side? We won't runaway like…them.“ I said hissing out them indicating who I was talking about. 

“I kno you won't Leonardo, and yes it is time you have been allowed to go,” I jumped in my seat waving my fork in the air.

“Thanks Master Splinter,” I said looking to my brother who was grinning like a fool. I hurried to finish my lunch to start prepping for tonight. 

RAPH

“Hey Raph I need to go out and get a few things you want to come?“ Mikey asked ducking into the garage that we had built. 

“Yeah Mikey I'll come with ya,” I said setting my wrench down and lifting my visor on my head set. The circles rest lightly over my ear holes blocking some noise but not a lot. The metal going across my forehead was heated from resting on my head. I looked to Mikey his bright blue eyes were blocked by a semi translucent, orange visor. The blue lines making a list of what he needed their signatures already programmed into it. He had a water proof bag on his side the opposite of his gun, and a metal staff with an orange blade. His gauntlet nestled on his right arm, the glowing keypad laminating his arm. 

I stood and grabbed my own gauntlet and put it one, I strapped my own gun to my hip, a bag of medical supplies on the opposite side. My shell holding a small metal pack in the center the red highlights glowing slightly. I watched Mikey smile and turn back up the stairs his own shell holding a shell pack as well though unlike mine he has several metal diamonds surrounding the shell pack. 

I followed my brother up the spiral stairs to the main room. Mikey had slid into the water I grabbed my water proof bag and slid into the pond as well. 

DONNIE

I couldn't believe it standing outside the sewers feeling the cool night air on my scales for the first time. I looked up to see the faint stars scattered throughout the night sky and smiled wondering if my other brothers could see them to. 

We walked down the sidewalk passing a computer store, I paused seeing something that had caught my eye. I ran to the window gushing over the newest computer system. I was gushing over the computer Leo standing off to the side just listening. 

“Donnie some one is inside the store,” Leo said pulling his swords out of their sheath. I stepped back going for my bo-staff. A over head light flickered slightly illuminating the store front for a second. Long enough to see my baby brother standing in the store holding a couple of cables. 

He froze when our eyes locked, his bright blue ones covered by an orange visor, a long spear on his shell, a gauntlet on his left arm, a belt around his waist a small bag on his left leg and a gun on his right side. 

“Leo do you see him?“ I asked knowing I had been known to hallucinate sometimes. 

“Yes Donnie I see him, come on we need to follow him,” Leo said running around the building to see where our brother had disappeared to. 

I ran after my older brother hoping to find my brothers we needed to apologize. Leo had found Mikey and was following, I just kept my brother's shell in my sight knowing that Leo wouldn't lose him. I reached into my bag that I had I have a tracker in it. I found it, and getting Leo's attention showing him the tracker. 

“No we don't want to lose any trust before getting it,” he said and I nodded putting it back. 

Mikey had led us down allies and down side streets his bag clattering on his hip. He ran fast, something I remember from when we lived together, Mikey had always been fast and nimble on his feet. 

MIKEY

“Raph I'm being followed by the others, I'm headed to Leatherhead I'll meet you at the Cavern,” I said rushing past buildings, they blurred past. I waited until I had seen they were no longer behind me, lifted a manhole cover I through the bag inside and followed it. 

I picked up the bag and ran down the tunnels. I distantly heard the cover being moved again. I sped up down the tunnels I passed the Pond and tossed my bag inside, knowing the water proof bag would protect the equipment inside. 

The loss of the weight made me move faster, my visor helping me track the best route to Leatherhead's home. I made the twist and turns down tunnels going down pipes, climbing a ladder or two to get to my friend's home. 

“Michelangelo, I heard from Raphael that you are being chased are they still following you?“ Leatherhead pulled me to his chest his tail coming around to protect me from an enemy. 

“I- I think s-s-so, I can't….. breathe,” I said leaning on his chest and curling my legs to my chest. Leatherhead curled his arms around me lifting me off the ground. 

“Calm I am going to hide you and chase the others away, stay here and I will be back,” I nodded and closed my eyes feeling Leatherhead set me on a soft nest of fabrics and pillows. He set me on my plastron and put a blanket over my shell. I sighed sinking into the softness. 

LEATHERHEAD

After setting my small one on the best I had formed for him, I turned to the entrance and growled my eyes narrowed and my teeth clenched. I waited for the other two turtles to come closer. This wasn't my home, it was close, but they would not find my Mikey's safe spaces if my life depended on it. 

Soon the two turtles came into view, the faultered at seeing me, their eyes widened and they came to a screeching hualt.

“Um hello, uh would you happen to have seen another turtle pass through here he's our brother and we just need to take him home,” the blue banded turtle said his eyes shifting like he was nervous. 

“Uh yeah we just need to collect our brother and we will be on our way,” the other one said he smiled a gap tooth smile a nervous laugh leaving his beak. 

“ I did see a turtle, but he is not your brother he is Raphael's brother. He is also my mate, he does not belong to you,” I said growling lowly afterwards. They shifted away from me, hands reaching for their weapons. I growled loudly, before stopping and turning at the sound of Mikey stirring. I looked back to make sure he was still sleeping, the slight sedative I had given him still running. 

I turned back to the turtles who had stepped forward in my lapse of attention. I swiped my tail slamming it on the ground startling them. 

“Please we just want to talk,” the blue one said looking up at me. 

“No you tried to lie to me, I hate lairs. You had hurt him before and I will not let you hurt him again,” I said walking them away from the tunnel that I had hidden Mikey in.

“If Michelangelo wants to speak to you he will find a way to talk to you, if you wish to get his trust, then you wait until he is no longer afraid of you. get away from him, and if I find you chasing him again I will not hesitate to snap you like a twig in my teeth,” I said snapping my jaws after to prove my point. 

“I would do what Leatherhead says, he is a very scary guy when provoked.“ I looked up to Raphael entering the tunnel, his green eyes glowing with anger. 

“Leatherhead where is Mikey?“ He asked I pointed behind me with my tail. He nodded and walked past his former family not even sparring a glance their way and went back to Mikey. 

“Did you have to sedate him?“ I chuckled at that, Raphael the ever present medic.

“Yes he was going into a panic attack, you know how he is, he needed to sleep,” I called back. The other turtles were still standing there, they were talking to each other before they nodded. The blue one stepped forward and handed a phone to me.

“When they are ready they can call us on that and we can figure out a spot to meet,” he said before turning away and leading his brother away from us. I turned back to the two brothers behind me, Raphael was cradling Mikey close and started walking out of the tunnel. 

“Come on big guy you gonna spend the night,” he said before making the trek back to the Cavern I followed behind him keeping his back protected. 

LEO

Donnie and I went back topside soon after and tried to protect a girl and her dad from being taken by a group of men. We were not able to and had lost them, it hit me hard. Two failures in one night, it was hard, but I wouldn't give up not until Donnie did, where Raph had Mikey as his most important. Mine is Donnie, I will do what I can to get my other two brothers back but only because Donnie wants them. I realized long ago that they would not welcome us. So I had given up, but Donnie hasn't and so I will do what I can. 

I have to be the reasonable one of us, he is usually to high strung for this. So I have to think rationally, the phone was a way to get in touch with our brothers on their terms. The girl seemed to have made a home in Donnie's head and heart and so she is also on my list to protect just to see Donnie happy and carefree. I hope he just starts living and maybe if we do our brothers will contact us and we can repair our relationship there. But until then we need to rescue the girl, her dad and stop the people from attacking and kidnapping scientists. What a fun night it's going to be.

Chapter Text

LEO

I walked into the Lair Donnie on my heels his head down and a whimper exiting it. I stopped long enough for him to be by my side and I wrapped an arm around his shell. 

He lent into my plastron and sighed, I moved him to the couch and sat him down. I stayed standing I needed to talk to our father. Donnie laid down his red eyes were dull almost turning a chocolate brown color. 

Making sure that my brother was as comfortable as he could be I moved to the dojo. Opening the door showed my father in the room meditating, I moved to stand in front of him before sitting on my legs. Them curled comfortably under me, having sat like this my whole life made it second nature. 

“My son something troubles you,” Master Splinter said and I nodded knowing he couldn't see me with his eyes closed.

“Yes Master Splinter, Donnie and I were topside and while we were we found Mikey, we followed him to a tunnel but he has a very scary friend. A croc mutant named Leatherhead, Raph is with him, he had come to pick Mikey up from their friend. Also we had tried to save a girl and we need to go back out to see about rescuing her from these people dressed in all black looking like business men.“

I looked up to my father after saying everything that has happened. He had opened his eyes and they were trained on mine. I could see he had no emotion in them carefully concealing it from me. I waited for him to answer.

“I see you have found them or were you looking for them?“ He asked a hint of a growl to his voice. 

“No! We didn't I swear, Donnie was going on about a computer system he had wanted, but couldn't get because it's the newest one that has come out. A light that was above us flickered long enough for us to see Mikey in the store stealing the very same computer system that Donnie was going on and on about. We have stopped tracking them, we considered about putting a tracking device on him, but I ultimately decided against it seeing as I didn't want to lose their trust before we even got it.“

“Good, I am very happy to know that they are safe, but let them come to us, as for the girl, yes I agree rescue her if you can.“ I nodded and stood, leaving the dojo. I closed the shoji doors and went back to the couch seeing Donnie had sat up and turned the TV on. 

“What did he have to say?“ I looked over to him after sitting he didn't look at me his eyes on his hands. 

“He's not mad, or anything. He does want us to save the girl, and about…them,”  I said hooking my arm around him and bringing him into my side. 

“Good I think I found a way to do it, if you're wanting to continue this?“ He asked looking at me. 

“Of course Donnie I'm always interested in what you have to say,” I said watching the cartoon on TV. 

RAPH

I was in the security room, the computer screens displaying the sewers, they were all empty. I looked to Mikey he had woken up and was putting the phone into a box to stop any tracking the device could have. He came over and rested his head on my plastron. I held him close and felt the tears fall onto my chest. 

“Did I do good Raph?“ 

I looked down to him, he was just standing there not even wrapping his arms around me like he used to. I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him closer. 

“Yes you did exactly what you were supposed to do. You ran and lost them before going under. You got rid of the extra weight, and you passed the Cavern without pausing. Then on top of it you called me immediately and went to someone that could protect you.“ I said and he cuddled closer bringing his arms up. He sighed and smiled, I smiled and walked him out of the security room. Leatherhead was still in the living room he was resting on the couch and was fiddling with his gauntlet. 

“We got it contained now I need to check you and Leatherhead over for a tracker device,” I said having Mikey stand in front of me, and Leatherhead stood as well.

DONNIE

Leo and I were waiting for our plan to go, the van we rigged to drive through the wall. We climbed as soon as the headlights appeared and slipped into the vent. 

The building while it was unassuming on the outside was white with highlights of pink and purple. It amazes me, the walls made from a different metal alloy that I had never seen before. I could see an energy conduit above me that seemed to converge in one area and hoping it led to the girl. We snuck down the halls, several bots walking down. Leo took my arm and hid me behind him. I looked up to see his eyes narrowed they were white his pupils gone. I followed his line of sight to see an army of bots walking down the hall.

I hid behind Leo letting him do his big brother thing once the bots were gone we snuck further down I stayed behind him keeping an eye on our shell's. We found the cell for the girl and her dad and Leo stood guard while I hack into the system to unlock the door. Bots coming distracted me, Leo was going like an army alone while I finally opened the door. I reached in but the other side had opened already and they took them.

I ran after them Leo hot on my heels. I rushed passed bots and the guns laser bullets. They took her onto a helicopter her father opposite her. I jumped using the multiple buildings height's to catch the landing gear of the copter. I tried to haul myself up into the copter but the swaying was making it almost impossible. 

I almost slipped hearing Leo calling my name, I looked down to see my older brother watching me fear in his dark blue eyes. I shook my head and tried to get into the copter again. A wind current knocked the copter and it swayed violently knocking the girl from it. I reached out one handed to try to help her, but before I could she slipped and fell.

Without thinking I jumped after her I caught her bridle style and tucking her close to me used the buildings once again going with the flow of the drop to minimize the damage. I skidded to a hualt on the ground and looking up to the copter that was taking off with the girls father. 

Gun shots had me tucking the girl close again and running for cover. Leo was fighting and I needed to join him. I set the girl down in a corner and rushed the bots my eyes going white. Using the power generator was a stroke of genius from my brother and was a good cover to get out of there with the girl. 

Sitting on her window sill later and learning her name was April was a good way of becoming friends.

“So are you going to be okay?“ Leo asked he was the one closer to the railing of the fire escape keeping himself between me and a fall of four stories. 

“Yeah my aunt said I could stay with her for as long as I needed, but I won't rest easy until I get my father back,” she said her bright blue eyes glaring with determination. I swallowed hard her eyes were the same shade as Mikey's even her hair was a similar orange. I looked to Leo who wasn't even looking at the girl. 

“Are the police going to help?“ I asked 

“Funny when you say that your dad was kidnapped by alien brain creatures in robot bodies they really don't  believe you,” she said looking away from the horizon.

“Yeah that could be something,” I said the light from the sun shining over the horizon got Leo and I going. We had made it underground before anyone saw us and made it home before Splinter could say anything as well. 

MIKEY 

I was in the kitchen making dinner it was a little late for it, but seeing as I am the cook and we personally don't like take out, it was up to me to make food. I went to the green room and snapping a couple of tomatoes from the vine and digging up a few carrots and potatoes. I went back to the kitchen washed the veggies and fruit of the grime and started chopping. I was making a stew for us, it was starting to get cold seeing as we have a pool and we need to swim to get in here everytime it was something that we learned to always have a warm food made to stave off the cold from the water. 

I made the stew using the meat that we had stole from a grocery store. It was a good quality of beef that Raph had got, knowing it would be good to have my stew meat on hand. I chopped everything up and seasoning it before putting it in the pot and letting it cook. This was the time to clean so doing so I cleaned everything from the tools I had used to cook with so far to cleaning the counter to the floors and the sink. It was just to occupy my mind because if I let myself think about tonight my panic would rise again. Raph had helped with calming me down after putting the phone away, but I was still a little shook. 

The timer going off for the stew shook from my thoughts and went to take the stew off the heat and putting some in three bowls with some rice that had cooked as well. The spoons resting in the rice and brought it to the living room. Raph was sitting on the couch and Leatherhead was sitting on the floor.

I handed them their food and sat down above Leatherhead my legs being used as a pillow. I lent on Raph who rested his head on mine. This was good silence from food and a calm atmosphere and sharing it with two of the most important people in my life. It wouldnt be complete with out Jess and Jake, but that could wait I needed sometime before venturing back outside and I needed to recollect my shattered mind. Just a few days from having to think and process what had happened. Raph would understand that. He would be willing to get what I need and the food that we will need to stock up on soon. 

But for now I just needed these two and a good homemade bowl of stew and rice. Then back to bed probably make a nest in the living room and have a sleep over with Leatherhead. He wouldn't want to leave.

Chapter Text

MIKEY

Raph and I were topside once more playing around on a random rooftop. He was chasing me and I was laughing loudly, not caring about being heard. Raph tackled me and we went tumbling into a satellite dish. The wires hanging over our heads and both of us laughing breathlessly. The door slamming open a rotund man coming out from it. His shirt didn't fit and there were stains all over it. 

“What is all the noise up here?“ He asked looking around. His eyes landed on us and they narrowed. “You knocked over my satellite dish did ya? Find it funny huh? Well I find it funny how much trouble your gonna be in. What even are ya, freaks, or monsters?“

I flinched at the words spewing out of the humans mouth. Raph stood up his eyes going white with anger and he stood in front of me his hand hovering over his gun. 

“What did you just say to my brother? No one attacks Mikey!“ 

I reached out and put my hand on Raph's shoulder.

“Raph let's just go, we don't need to be here. He can have his opinions and we have ours. He's a massive, greasy, slob of a human. We are mutant turtles, humans are gonna think that we are monsters. No one is correct, except us we are correct that he is a greasy slob that doesn't know how a shower or shampoo works.“

Raph chuckled and flung his arm over my shoulders still laughing under his breath. “That's a good one Mikey, oh yeah let's get goin',” he said leading away from the still screaming human. I had tuned out his words by now not caring about what he was saying. 

What did catch my attention though was the Kraang bots joining us on the roof top. I reached for my spear, Raph typing into his gauntlet to bring out his knives. Oh good a work out, maybe get rid of the steam that had built from the guys insults. I narrowed my eyes, these creatures had hurt my friend and needed to pay. I flung myself into the fight using the long reach of my spear to stab the aliens in the stomach area seeing as that's where the squishy surprise was. I wanted to hear the screams. 

My spear was taken and flung off the roof and to street level, I didn't care I typed into my gauntlet and my blades diamonds come off my shell released from their magnets and flew around me like an orbit. I swiped on the gauntlet and the diamonds separated and flew into six different aliens. Killing them instantly, I grinned savagely a sharp look to my eyes. The Kraang bots started to shoot at us and I used my diamonds to shield me and took out my gun and started to shoot. 

I looked over to Raph and besides seeing him killing anything that got to close I saw the human filming us. 

“Raph he's filming us,” I said shooting another bot. 

“Yeah and the people will think he's an amazing animator no one is going to believe that two mutant turtles live in New York and they didn't know about it.“ He said looking over at the man his shoulders tensed. 

“Though we might want to go, it could have audio and I just released that we exist,” he said jumping over the lip of the roof. I followed him grabbing my dropped spear and running away from the roof. 

Days later and nothing about us coming up in the news made us relax and go back topside. We were hanging with Jake, a brown haired, green eyed boy with tan skin, he was taller then me. And Jess, Jake's twin her hair was mid waist and her skin had freckles. She was the same height as me. These two had been our best friends since we were little. They are our human counterpart's, since we own a store, Jake represents Raph and Jess represents me. They are the “owners” when someone asks. But in reality it's Raph and I who are the owners. 

I was laughing at a joke that Jake had told when something dropped down in front of us. Raph and I stood in front of our human friends and I froze it was Leo. I looked up to see Donnie still on the roof, he was to far away to tell but he was shocked to. 

I looked to Leo and found my blood freezing in my veins. My breathing got quick and my vision blurred to a narrow point. I felt a hand on my shoulder and could hear voices, but I couldn't focus on any of it. 

Suddenly my vision was filled with green and red and two very worried eyes that were only focused on me. Raph's hands on my cheeks had me looking at only him.

“Mike I need you to focus on me okay? I need you to focus, you need to breath. Follow my breathing, copy it, you can do it.“ 

I did as I was asked slowing my breathing to copy my brother's. Once my breathing was under control sound suddenly rushed back into my ears. I flinched at the loud sounds of Jake and Jess yelling at Leo and Donnie to stay back and better yet leave him alone. 

I leaned into Raph who wrapped me in his arms. I closed my eyes I had a very sudden headache, Raph blocked the view of the fight behind him and rubbed my shell calming me.

“Jake we are leaving, and Leo, Donnie if you follow I will make sure that you never see us ever again. We have a few friends that would do anything to kill you. Do. Not. Follow. Us.“ 

He took me in his arms and started walking away from them Jake and Jess taking up the rear, their angry grumbling could still be heard. 

“Hey don't worry I'll make you guys Mikey's famous pizza that should help,” Jess said, the only one that I trust, besides Raph in my kitchen. 

“That be great Jess, thanks,” Raph said I could feel the rumble of his voice and soothed me even more. I'm not ready to face them yet, soon but not yet and as long as I have Raph and my friends by my side I can. 

LEO

I was flung off a roof during a fight, Donnie and I were staking out a building and a guy came to the ceiling yelling about to much noise. The guy took one look and brought out his phone. 

I immediately took Donnie and hid behind a structure on the roof hoping to keep us off the video. 

“Oh no you don't you and your friend broke my satellite dish and you are going to pay for it. Your not gettin' away this time.“ 

I looked to Donnie: “do you know this guy?“

“No I've never met him before,” he said shaking his head. 

“Then who could he be talking about?“ I asked my self.

“Just because you got rid of your other tech and put masks on does t mean I don't recognize ya,” I heard him say.

“Oh he's talking about Mikey and Raph, he must have caught them on tape and thinks we are them,” Donnie said looking like he had made a great discovery. And he did a really great one. 

After meeting Mikey and seeing Raph for a short spell my energy for getting my brothers back was renewed. I need my brothers, but we had to be delicate with it. First getting that phone and saving the video of our brothers so we can have something of them as teenagers. 

So we did just that got the phone saved the video on Donnie's phone and then erased the video on the guys phone. He was ranting the entire time and yelling brought the Kraang over. Welp that's not good. 

The fight was intense and I was flung off and to street level. 

“OW, that hurt.“ I said rubbing my head. I looked up to see Raph and Mikey. I stood so fast a smile splitting my face. It crumbled when I saw the fear on Mikey's face. 

Suddenly I had two humans in my face yelling at me.

“Get away from him!“ That was the boy.

“Yeah they don't need you getting any closer!“ That was the girl.

“You are not getting any closer to them, you won't hurt them again!“ The boy again.

“Stay back or better yet leave!“ The girl.

I stepped back holding Donnie back from getting any closer. I could see Raph trying to calm Mikey. I almost squealed when I saw Raph squish Mikey's cheeks. It was so cute. I remember that Mikey loved having his faced squished, but only Raph was the one to do it. 

I pushed Donnie to go the other way seeing Raph carrying Mikey away and hearing the girl exclaim that she would make Mikey's famous pizza. I sighed and lead Donnie away and into the sewers. Going home was a long trek, the words still circled my brain. 

“Come on let's get home and watch their fight on that video you saved, we'll rewatch it so much we'll get sick of it. Then we'll watch the discovery channel until we fall asleep on the couch,” I said wrapping my arm around Donnie who smiled sadly and nodded.

When we got home and put the video on screen we sat down and watched our brothers fight with the Kraang. The weapons they used looked awesome, and Mikey was a good shot with his gun. I looked to Donnie to see him curiously looking not at Mikey but his gauntlet. I looked to and seemed that all their weapons were connected to the tech on his wrist, the same for Raph. We re-watched the video so much that we had it ingrained into our memories. It was still playing when Master Splinter came out to see what was going on.

“It's a video of Mikey and Raph fighting the Kraang, some guy took it and we figured he had done so. We took the phone saved the video onto Donnie's phone and then deleted it from the guys. We decided to watch it to see how well they fight.“

“I see thank you both for protecting them, I bet if they knew they would be thankful as well,” he said sitting down to watch.

We still laugh at Raph's explanation on why the guy wouldn't be believed. Even Master Splinter looked happier and that was good. We would have them back and be a big happy family again even their friends can come I don't care I just want my brothers.

Chapter Text

DONNIE

I snuck through the sewers, making sure Leo wasn't following me. I wove through the long traveled tunnels keeping a look out for the shadows that just seemed to big or something that moved the wrong way. I was going topside with Leo, a taboo knowing how my brother got when I wasn't there when he woke up. 

He has separation anxiety, he will panic and not let me go when I am found. I sighed he needed to get that under control, just like what I was doing. I can't do the slow climb anymore, I need my brothers and I will do everything to do it. 

I made it topside and snuck into a building and letting the darkness consume my form. My red-brown eyes surveyed the dark room waiting for the human to show. A shadow detached itself from the rest and a tall man coming forward with short brown hair that seemed to merge with his facial hair. I cringed inwardly, the thought of hair made me sick. I could deal with fur especially Splinter's fur, he washed with a certain shampoo that made it so soft and fluffy. I could cuddle into his warmth for hours if given the chance. 

I shook the thought from my mind and stepped forward. 

“Do you have what I need?“ I asked holding a suitcase close to my legs incase he didn't have it. 

“Not yet, do you have the partial payment?“ He asked I snarled he promised results not come in empty handed. I nodded and slid the case towards the human, his brown eyes not leaving me. He stopped the case and picked up and checked inside. It was gadgets he had requested. I have no money so I used the next best thing, my mind. It was only a part of his payment the rest will be presented to him once he gives results. 

“Good so you want them alive?“

“Yes,” I answered quickly, not giving him a chance to get it in his head to hurt them. “I want them alive and unharmed. They need to come home.“

He nodded and tucking the briefcase in his arm he left going back into the shadows, I did the same and stopped by the tunnel I was turning into a secret lab working on the gadgets the man had requested, soon though I went home and was smothered by Leo who requested that we sleep in the same room. I nodded and let him drag me to his room and we fell asleep cuddled together. Dreams of my other two brothers being there as well filled my head and had me smiling in my sleep. 

Two weeks later I had the gadgets done and made my way to the same building again. He had better have results or non of this is going to him. I slipped into the room seeing a figure in the middle of the room. The muffled shouts gaining my attention quicker then a shadow moving closer. 

I dodged his attack and moved closer to the figure. It was Mikey, no it wasn't it was a fake. There was no way, he doesn't have this green scales tone, where were his freckles? He has blue eyes not brown. It was also to soft so it was a fake. 

I growled at the human he had tried to trick me, well two could play at that game. 

“I said my brothers, not stuffed toys of them and poorly done ones at that. You couldn't even get the eyes right. I want my brothers brought here or this is not going to you, I will threw it into the Hudson river. Your choice.“

“Okay I'll get you your brothers just I need more time,” he said, but the subtle tilt of his head gave me all I needed. I dodged, but a rope falling around me tripped me. I fell into the ground the already dark room getting darker. I tried to fight it, I could feel the rope being tied around me to trap me. I screwed up again I screwed up big time. My last thought being 'Leo's going to kill me.' 

The darkness consumed me, the two humans going to grab me.

I woke sitting in a spotlight of moonlight, knowing I was a trap for either Raph and Mikey, or Leo. I couldn't tell which one I would want more. I sighed this was a terrible idea. I should have known this would happen if I trusted the human. 

I squirmed around hoping to loosen the ropes holding me, no luck. Even my shell was to dull to cut it. I sighed looking up to the window hoping that Leo would show up soon. My dark thoughts seemed to swarm my mind. What was I thinking trusting a human to find my brothers I was completely and utterly stupid. I lowered my head shame curling over my shell freezing me from the outside in. Tears weld into my ears making them burn, I tried to breath evenly, but it was futile I had been stupid and am now paying for my mistakes.

It seemed like I was sitting in the room for hours, long enough for Leo to notice my missing and come looking. Good thing that I left detailed notes in my second lab. I looked up to the shadow at the window it was Leo shaped so I just looked back down not giving him away to my captures.

He landed next to me and I kept my eyes down on the ground. 

“Do you even know how long I have been looking for you?“ His question hissed out between teeth as he released me. I nodded not trusting my voice. 

“Come on let's get out of here and head back home,” he said calmly a bad sign. I sighed and nodded again and followed him head down and guilt creeping in past the shame I still felt. I ran away from the building and going under ground soon after. Knowing that they could be following we got a little closer to the territory of Leatherhead using his warning growl to scare the pursuers away. It worked like a charm. 

“Now that we have lost them, and we are safe underground.“ 

'Oh no, this is not good that calm anger is starting to leak through,' I thought ducking into my shell. 

“Oh no you don't you come out here and face it like a turtle, you are in so much trouble right now, I can't even tell you how much. Oh wait I can, you snuck around behind my shell, conversing with a strange human. Made him things and handed them off with no consideration on what he was using them for. You made another lab so you can work in private on things that you shouldn't have been. Then to top it off you get captured by this human and used as bait. What were you thinking?“

I tried to stop my tears Leo was right I was stupid and I shouldn't be crying over my mistakes. I couldn't stop them though they flowed freely and without a stop in sight. I hiccuped and Leo's stiff form loosened and he sighed. I saw his arms open and flung myself in them. 

“I just wanted to talk to them hoping to say sorry they wouldn't stop long enough for us to do anything. I just wanted to apologize, I'm sorry Leo I was stupid and inconsiderate of you and Master Splinter. Please I'm sorry.“

“It's okay Donnie it's entirely your fault I should have explained my plan a lot better. But you are still in trouble. You are grounded for the next week, and if you do something like this again I will up that to a month do you understand?“

I nodded slowing my breathing and letting Leo step back sniffing. He led me home my head lowered and not wanting to look at my brother. I will probably make this mistake again, but I know that Leo will save me. Always. 

RAPH 

I was hanging with Jake at the store when I heard Mikey scream, and not a playful one of being chased by Jess or Leatherhead. I stood so fast noticing Jake doing the same. I ran out the door seeing a large human trying to take my little brother. I growled and rushed the man, my eyes narrowed on the hand that was around my brother's arm. I got one of my knives and slashed the arm, the man screamed and let go of Mikey. 

“Jake get Mikey inside,” I said not looking away from the human.

“Raph wait, no Jake let me go!“ 

I ignored Mikey he was going inside with Jake, and Jess would make sure he stayed. I glared at the human waiting for him to make another move. The human glared with his dark eyes, his dark hair flowing with the wind. Making it known where his hair ended and his facial hair started. 

The human growled and lunged at me I raised my knives and lunged at him. He dodged the first strike, but the second got his shoulder. I got a punch to the shoulder for it, but I didn't care this guy tried to take my brother, it will not happen. 

I was able to chase the guy away and went back to the store to see a crying Mikey behind the register. I walked over to hug him. He looked up and glared, puffed up his cheeks. His blue eyes were hardened, then he turned away from me.

I smiled he did this when he was angry I wouldn't let him join in a fight. I just couldn't focus on the fight if he would have a panic attack. I sat next to him and nudged him he grumbled and curled more on himself. That made me smile even more, I watched Jake and Jess closing the store down and lent into Mikey's shell and he turned to me his glare still in place.

“It's not gonna work Raph, that was mean, I can fight now. Why didn't you let me?“ He asked tears coming to those beautiful blue eyes. 

I sighed, and brought him into a backwards hug and even angry he lent back into me. That made me happy, I could never live if I made Mikey to angry for a hug. 

“I'm sorry Mikey, I let my protective instincts take over, I just couldn't let the guy try to take you away from me. I don't know what I would do if I lost you. You are more important to me than a fight. I will always make sure you are safe before I am, do you understand?“

He thought about it and nodded he turned towards me and returned the hug. That's good, Mikey is very important to me, and nobody will ever take him from me, not even my own stupid actions will.

UNKNOWN

“How could you have let them escape?“ A voice asked quietly, the menace in it making the two others in the room shivered. 

“I'm sorry Master, we did not know they had a beast protecting them,” the first person said bowing on one knee to show his respect.

“Next time you fail me, you will not be around to do so again,” the voice said the chilling to it still present making it known what exactly he would do to the two that had failed him. The two nodded and left the room grateful that they were still alive to tell the tale. 

The two men looked at each other and nodded no more mistakes, they would not disappoint their Master again.

Chapter Text

MIKEY

I was in my lab working on a new weapon for Raph he wanted something that was throwable and as reliant as his knives. So that is what I was working on, my head moving to the beat of my music. The beat coming from my visor that rested gently over my ear holes. The music wasn't to loud, so that if Raph needed me I could hear. 

I jumped back when my music player started sparking and smoke rose from it. I yelped in surprise when it burst into flames, Raph was there instantly putting the flames out. 

“Are you okay Mike?“ He asked leaning down to my level. I nodded still shocked. 

“Alright, that's good, what happened?“ He asked gently making me stand and walk away from my work station. I looked up at him my eyes wide and calmed I was okay I had moved in time. 

“I was working on your new weapon listening to my music, it started to spark and smoke. I had just enough time to move back before the thing burst into flames.“

“Okay would you know why it did that? Your things don't just randomly burst into flames,” he said going back the work station. 

“No I won't know anything until I examine the thing. Man that was my music too, now I got make another one,” I said a little miffed at having to add another thing on my long list of things to work on. I went ahead and opened my list and added it to the top it was top priority. I need my music.

“Why don't we go topside and get you some things to work with,” Raph said, he started to walk over to the Scorpion, a go kart he had made for me. I drive while he or someone else shots the guns mounted on the top. 

“Okay,” I was coming down from the adrenaline that had coursed through my veins making my limbs jittery and uncoordinated. 

“I'll drive,” Raph said climbing into the bottom part, and I climbed to the top buckling into the straps. I was still in my head trying to figure out what had happened to my music player. I had made that when I was 7, I figured out that I work better with music and so had made a music player so the old radio could retire and not annoy Raph anymore. He doesn't like music works better with silence or muttering what he's doing under his breath. My music cancels out his mutterings and allows me to work on my things.

But it shouldn't have done that, unless the thing was just to old and the heating got to hot. That could be the culprit, the heating of the device going and the fan not coming on to cool it. It could have melted the wires and they sparked and caught fire. I won't know for sure until I look at it. I lent back in my seat letting Raph drive to the only junkyard we ever go to. The military junk. 

It was the only one that would have the tech we need that wasn't in stores. I smiled he was trying to cheer me up by taking me here. We don't usually go this way, to close to the purple dragons. They have a rougher and tougher look on life and do things that Raph and I find to much for our morals. Yeah we steal and we will kill, but only if needed. We don't go out and kill random people like the purple dragons do. We steal and help kids who are outcasts, they call us boss, but we just took them in and helped them with self-defense. 

Jake and Jess are the co leaders if we couldn't represent at the time, they would take over. We fight the purple dragons off, only if they are doing the more dangerous things. If they are stealing we leave them be, we do the same thing. I was halted in my thoughts by Raph parking the kart, I looked up seeing that we were right outside the junkyard. 

“'kay Mikey let's get a few things and then home,” he said jumping out of the seat. I followed him and we both snuck into the place. We had been seen once in this place and they upped security, but we found new ways to get what we needed. I was in heaven, all the tech I could build with this, if only I could take it all home and hoard it in my portion of the lab. I shook my head, no that wouldn't work. Just grab what you need, no need for the intrusive thoughts to win. 

We spent hours in the junk trying to find what we need, or wanted to bring home. The Kart was loaded with several different things that we both wanted to work on, that's when I saw it. The AI chip, I need that, so I took it. It's mine an AI chip yes. 

“What got ya so giddy?“ Raph asked coming to stand next to me. 

“I found an AI chip,” I said holding it out to him. Just thinking of what I could build with this. 

“Awesome let's get going did you get enough things to build a new music player?“ He asked and I nodded as answer we went back to the kart. I was doing better so I climbed into the driver seat and Raph sat in his seat up top. 

I drove us home, on the way pulled over to check a guy dressed in armour. Raph and I snuck up behind him, ready to fight if the need arose. He was trying to get into a building he was fired from. He wasn't a danger yet so we left him behind and went home. 

After checking my music player, I was right the fan had given out and the device over heated. I tossed it in the trash, before making a new one making sure it connected to my visor. Once it did I used my laptop to transfer all my music onto it. 

Good one thing to cross off, about a million more to go. So after actually crossing the music player off my list I went back to the knife I was working on for Raph, thinking on making it remote control so he can call it back during the fight. I don't ever want my anger prone brother without a weapon to use in a fight. 

I stood up and connected the knife to my gauntlet to test it out, I went over to the area cleared out to practice in. I threw the knife and let it stick into the wall, I recalled it pressing a series of buttons on the gauntlet and it slide out of the wall seamlessly and flew back to my hand. Next I pressed another series of buttons and the knife flew around making a circle around me, the blade was an energy blade a deep red that would hide the blood it will spill. 

Satisfied I went up stairs to find Raph in the living room watching a TV show. I stepped behind him to see it was pokemon. I smiled and handed him the knife, he handed me his gauntlet so I could connect the knife. After doing so I sat down to watch the show. 

My other things could wait I want to spend time with my brother. The show was good either way giving me more ideas to build. Maybe I could make a pokemon with that AI chip.

DONNIE

After watching the video of Mikey and Raph's fight again. I wanted to make a weapon that was a little more higher grade then mine was. If I was going to be fighting advanced alien technology then I will need a better weapon. I have so many ideas on what to do, but decided to start small. The staff was still wood, with a metal core and a hidden blade, making it a ningata instead of a bo-staff. I had started to practice with it seeing how it balances in my hands. 

Leo also wanted to make sure that the extra weight wouldn't throw me off. So after my week grounding from Leo I went topside to spend time with April, letting Leo know that I was going to be late and not to stay up for me. He would, but I did my part. He doesn't think I can see the bags under his eyes from insomnia but I do and he needed to relax. Maybe sleep, but that was asking to much. 

April had become quiet a good friend I am hoping for something more, but in due time, it felt like something is missing. Didn't mean that I couldn't get closer to her though. 

“So you have two more brothers and you tried to kidnap them to bring them to a place that they had run away from 10 years ago?“ She asked and man did that make seem like I was a major idiot. 

“Yeah when you say it like that, it makes me seem like I messed up,” I said rubbing the back of my head. 

“You did! Donnie you can't kidnap, that's a crime. And you can't bring people somewhere they feel unwanted. If you do you risk tearing them away from you forever. What's stopping them from leaving the city altogether?“ She asked. “Do you even know anything about them like they are right now?“

“Yes I do know a few things. They have amazing weapons, they are amazing fighters, they are very close, Raph is very protective of Mikey, Mikey has panic attacks and Raph knows how to calm him down. They were able to live a life that they wanted and not one that was made for you weather it was what you wanted or not.“ I was rambling I knew I was and we had stopped moving. April had put her hand on my arm, I needed to calm down before I say something to run off the one person that is willing to listen to me. Her hand is soft, I can focus on that, I wonder what kind of lotion she uses, maybe it will work on my scales. 

“Donnie listen, you can live your life the way you want to, no one can live your life for you,” April started talking and my focus went from lotion to her voice within seconds. I looked up at her, her eyes were the exact shade of Mikey's making mine tear up slightly. 

“No I can't, I can't do what I want when I want. I have to tell Leo where I'm going or he will freak out and ground me. My own brother will ground me, I thought that was a parent thing. I can't talk about certain things or my family will shut down on me, and if I want to make something I have to get approval from my father before I do. What can I do to take back my life?“ I ask moving away from her, feeling like I am disgusting, she shouldn't want to be friends with me. I mean I'm the only way to get her father back, I wonder if we do get him back will she even want to talk to me anymore. 

The thought made me want to retreat into my shell and never come back out. 

“Donnie, hey it'll be okay, I'll help you make a life you value,” April said coming over and leaning her head on my shoulder her hair falling down my shell. I sighed, my life won't be valuable until I get my brothers back, but I nodded and made her believe in what she says. 

“Tell me why they left,” she said not looking at me, I twisted to look at her. She wouldn't look at me, all I saw was her hair the same shade of orange as Mikey's mask.

“Master Splinter had started to metaphorically pushing Mikey away. When I saw that I did the same, I just wanted him to be safe so he needed to take training seriously. Then Master Splinter had pushed Mikey physically, Mikey was hurt, but he didn't tell me, he told Raph what happened I over heard them talking. I did it once, it was an accident I had wanted to apologize right after but Master Splinter told me that Mikey needed to become tougher and he wouldn't learn if we coddled him. I was 3 when it started and I was 5 when I lost them.“

“It seems to boil down to Splinter being the problem,” April said and she confirmed what I had thought the entire 10 years of silence. 

“Yeah it did lead back to him, but it doesn't stop the fact that I said things and did things that made him afraid of me, not just Splinter, but Leo and I. I am at fault, I just want to apologize.“ I said curling my arms around myself. 

“Hey from what you said, you were 3-5 years old, most children that age copy their parents. Some have more intuition then others and don't, but most children do. You followed your father because you thought he was right. You did what most children would do. Only Raph was able to see the small hurt child yes, but are you angry at him for taking Mikey away from that?“ She asked taking my face in her hands. I thought about that, did I hate Raph for taking Mikey away? No I wasn't I was angry at Splinter for hurting Mikey enough for Raph to take him away, I was angry at myself and Leo for following our father without thought. I was not angry at Raph for protecting Mikey, he did what was right and took him away from the hurt that we inflicted. I was happy that Raph did that, I am hurt that they don't want to talk, maybe if I wrote down what I wanted to say and send to them they would listen.

“No I don't hate Raph, I'm happy he took Mikey away, and I might have a way to talk to them, I just hope it works. It's not kidnapping this time,” I said in a hurry going home leaving April standing there in shock. 

“Hey wait up I want to know what you came up with!“ 

LEO

I was still awake when Donnie came home April in tow, she was looking like she ran 10 miles up hill. I winced at the determination in Donnie's eyes. Hoping he wasn't doing something that could hurt him or all of us. Again. 

I stood up as Donnie walked past, April hot on his heels.

“Donnie what are you doing?“ I asked I could hear the tiredness in my voice but I ignored it just like I did to everything else. 

“I think I found a way to talk to Mikey and Raph, with out kidnapping them,” he said marching to his room and coming back out with two notebooks. He handed one to me and kept the other one. 

“We are going to write a letter to them and leave it where I know they go through a lot. They keep taking down cameras that I put up in one of the sewer tunnels we can put up a fake one and leave the notes there.“ He looked so proud of the idea and I liked it wouldn't hurt anybody so we did that wrote a letter. 

I put the pencil down, I have a lot more to say, but I will once it's face to face. We will talk to each other in person one day. I just hope this will be enough to jump start it. 

I followed Donnie to the tunnel he had a fake camera he was going to mount it was very similar to the ones that he uses for the lair, so hopefully they see it. It won't work so we won't know if they take the letters. I'm gonna come down this way in a weeks time, the same amount of time that was for Donnie's cameras to go missing, to check if they were there or not. 

RAPH

I was so miffed, I thought that Donnie had finally stopped posting cameras in our tunnels, apparently not. I was headed to dismantle the camera, they had only placed one this time. Once I got there, and dismantled it two slips of paper fell. I caught them and seeing mine and Mikey's name on them I took them with me. The camera in one hand the other holding the paper. 

Once I made it home Mikey was happily explaining what happened to his music player to Leatherhead who looked concerned, but Mikey had found it funny after the whole ordeal. 

“Hey Mike I saw Donnie and Leo placing another camera went and took it down. Found these slips of paper with our names on them. Let's read what they have to say,” I said setting the camera on the coffee table. I had already searched for a tracker there was none. 

“Okay, let me see one,” he said holding his hand out for it. I handed him a random one. Keeping one in my other hand. 

“Okay so this one is from Leo,

Dear Mikey and Raph

Hey little brothers I just want to say that I miss you two, I miss Mikey's laugh even though I was never a cause for it. I miss Raph's ability to make anything a game, you were so creative I want to see what you could have been like. I miss talking to you and seeing you smile. I never knew what I had until it was wrenched from me in the middle of the night. 

I just want to say Raph I'm not angry that you took Mikey away from us. You did the right thing. He would have perished with us. 

Next I want to apologize for my part in the abuse that Mikey went through I never thought what I was doing was wrong and I was never taught differently. I'm so happy to see that you have grown to be strong and independent turtles that can handle themselves. 

I'm so happy to know that you have friends to help you out as well. Please let's speak in person soon thank you.

Love your oldest brother Leonardo.“

“Wow, so Leo is sorry for what happened?“ I asked letting Mikey cuddle into my side Leatherhead had his head placed in Mikey's lap. His eyes were closed and his even breathing told me he was asleep. Mikey's gentle petting didn't seem to help in keeping him awake. 

“I guess so, what does Donnie have to say?“ He asked his voice small and uncertain. He should never sound that way. 

“Alright let's see:

Dear Raph and Mikey

I want to say that I am so sorry for what I did and said to you. April our new friend we made helped in me realizing that I followed Splinter in what he did to Mikey, it is not an excuse for there is no excuse for what I did to our baby brother. I will never forgive myself for the hurt that I did. 

I just want to say that I'm happy that you took Mikey Raph, I really am. It hurt that you pushed us away when we were younger but you did it to protect Mikey and that I can believe whole hearted. I even thank you for protecting Mikey. I know you care for him, he looks happy and content with you. 

I want to say that what Splinter did was wrong and that Leo and I following was even worse and I will do anything to make it right between us. Please give me a sign that you don't completely hate us and that there is still a chance that you love us like brothers. I need to know before I fall further into depression.

Donatello.“

“Whoa that's a lot to take in,” Mikey whispered keeping his voice low to not wake up the sleeping croc. I nodded words failing me. I looked to Mikey who was looking at Leatherhead his eyes distant showing he wasn't seeing what he was looking at. 

“So do they still have a chance?“ I asked.

Chapter Text

LEO

We were following behind April, she was taking us to a new noddle shop that she had found. She was walking down the street Donnie and I were following flitting through the shadows keeping her in sight, but making sure no one could see us. 

“Would you guys hurry up,” she said turning around trying to see us. 

“Are you suggesting turtles are slow?“ Donnie asked popping out from a shadow next to the girl, she jumped and turned to him. I jumped from the roof that was ahead of her and landed behind her. 

“Now that's just hurtful,” I said leaning on the building, smirking. “Are you sure that this is okay? We find that people treat us a lot better when they don't know we exist,” I said looking around for any humans coming around the corners.

“Sorry guys I just want to do something with you guys that's not roof hopping,” she said clapping her hands together. 

I nodded and we continued to the restaurant walking in, there were four humans. Three of them were holding the fourth one to the wall. 

I reached for my swords, and rushed the humans. They let the man go and turned to fight. Donnie joined in using his new bo-staff to knock a man to the ground and pinning another to the wall. 

“What's going on? Your not the normal turtles that try to stop us. Their more ruthless then you guys,” the guy I was fighting said his eyes wide, curious on who he was fighting. I let him run out with out an answer, the other two following him their tails between their legs. Other turtles, did Raph and Mikey fight these guys a lot?

“Thank you for your help,” the man that remained said he was standing behind the counter his eyes covered by small circular sunglasses. April had mentioned that he was blind before we left it was the only reason I had agreed to this. 

“No problem, what did they want?“ I asked sitting at the counter and looking over the menu. Donnie joining me and April sitting next to him. 

“They are always wanting protection money, but I have other people protecting the shop. Ah here is one now,” I looked up at that to see the girl from a couple weeks ago. She was in the door way head down looking at something on her phone.

She laughed at something before typing, I guess answering a text. She looked cute, not sure she would ever like me seeing how close she was to my brother. 

“Hey Murakami, I need the usual please,” she said her voice was soft unlike the harsh tone she and her friend had used on Donnie and I a while ago. 

“Of course Miss Jessica,” Murakami said turning to cook what ever the usual was. I looked at the girl, she had long hair that fell like a water fall down her back barely going past her waist. She was watching Murakami cook with intense green eyes and her left hand was on her hip. She looked down to her phone again and started typing away. She smiled at something before putting her phone away. 

“Here you go, tell your brothers I said hi, and tell them to enjoy,” Murakami said handing Jessica the food, and she handed him the money for it. He looked unhappy getting the money. At first I was thinking she had shorted him, but that was not the case.

“Miss Jessica, I have told you, you and your family eat for free here after you had saved my shop so many times from the purple dragons,” he said trying to hand her the money back.

“Nope Mikey made me promise to make sure you got the money, besides you deserve it, this is the only take out my brothers will eat. That is saying something after you eat Mikey's cooking you can't turn back. Even my mom's stopped tasting so good.“

“Fine tell him I want to see him and Raphael in here next time have not heard from them for a while,” Murakami said.

“I will some things had come up and their taking sometime to stay underground. Mikey had almost been kidnapped at one point. To much going on at once and they needed some down time.“

I shot a look at Donnie who blushed and lowered his head down to the bowl of soup he had ordered before the girl had come in. April looked disapprovingly at Donnie as well her eyes sharp. 

I turned back to Jessica to see her typing on her phone again and walking out. I stood up and followed her. 

“You've got some nerve to follow me,” she said turning around to look at me.

“I know I was just about to call out, I don't want to know anything about my brothers where abouts nothing about meeting them or anything. I promise all I wanted to know was are they okay, it seems a lot happened and I just wanted to make sure they are doing okay. After 10 years of not knowing it's eating at me that we had caused them to retreat from the world.“ 

“You aren't the only cause, like Mikey was about kidnapped by a guy named Bradford or something like that. Mikey's music player exploded on him like that never happens, Mikey is always so careful with his things. And then on top of it all, this guy that Mikey and Raph had let get away had ended up killing three people. They feel real guilty for it and then on top of that Mikey had a cold so there for soup and sometime under ground. Their fine but need some time to them selves. So make yourself scarce and leave them alone.“

I was astonished that she would say it all, and she looked shocked at having spilled all that out of her. I nodded and thanked her, I turned back to the shop and looked back to see her still standing there. 

“Are you okay?“ I asked turning back to her. She looked up her green eyes glittering with unshed tears. 

“Yeah I'm okay, I just need to get back to the Cavern, bye,” she said running down the road, the bag of food swinging from her arm. 

I turned back to the door, and went back in to eat the rest of my food. Donnie looked up his chocolate eyes shining with curiosity. 

“She is a friend to Mikey and Raph, I wanted to make sure they were okay. If I know them from what we have figured out they go out when ever they want and do what ever they want. Turns out they had a lot pile on them. Someone trying to kidnap Mikey, some of Mikey's things had randomly exploded, a guy they let go had turned out to have killed three people. Then to top it off Mikey has a cold, so they are not okay at the moment and need some space.“

Donnie nodded a tortured look on his face just playing with his soup. I scooted closer and wrapped my arm around his shell. He leaned into me letting me know that he trusts me. Donnie wasn't to good with emotions and it got worse after Mikey and Raph had runaway and he became closed off. While he has some impulsive moments he means we'll and just do what he thinks is best. I love my brothers more then anything all three of them, but Donnie is special to me. 

He tested his head on my shoulder and we sat there letting him soak up as much comfort as he could. 

“Donnie it's not only your fault, we both had been pushing to hard. We just need to leave them alone for a while and let them come to us, okay?“ I asked letting him practically climb into my lap. He nodded and pulled away slightly to grab his bowl and hold to sip at like a drink. I smiled and did the same with my soup. 

April moved to my other side and leaned into my shell, and she sighed. I felt her weight fully lay on my shell and I sighed trapped between the two. Well I'm gonna be here a while.

“Alright we need to get going it's getting late and Donnie needs an actual bed,” I said ignoring how tired I was.

“I'm not the only one, you need sleep to Leo, so if I go to bed you have to come and cuddle with me it's the only way I will,” Donnie mumbled his bo of soup long gone. 

“Fine then let's go, first we take April home then we head home to,” I said letting the two climb off me and then getting up. April paid for our food and we filed out of the store. 

Once home I dragged Donnie to his room and pushed him to it. He was asleep before his head hit the pillow. Unfortunately he has a grip on my mask and dragged me with him. I tried to get up, but he wrapped around me and refused to let go. He was like a kid, if I moved he would wake up and refuse to go back to sleep unless I joined him. So I did what I always did, I turned so I could hold him and went to sleep with him. No dreams disturbed me leaving me in inky blackness.

RAPH

It was days later the cold that had taken hold of Mikey was gone and he was as chipper as could be. It was hard for a while after running into Leo and Donnie. It was like bad things would happen everytime we would run into them. Jess had told us about running into Leo and Donnie at the noodle shop. She said they didn't do anything to her and she wasn't hurt so I was inclined to believe her. I just don't trust them, they hurt Mikey why did the suddenly have a chance of heart on that. Why did they have to change so suddenly. 

Way back when, Mikey and I had talked about what had happened with Leo and Donnie. We both found the same thing, Leo and Donnie only did something after Splinter did it first. I had got a lot of parenting books back then and read them all to make sure that I could take care of Mikey properly. 

After reading I found that kids about our age would copy their parents. Looking it up later turned out some kids would copy their abusive parents to stay out of the line of fire. They would protect themselves by copying showing they were like their parents. Leo and Donnie did that, but I didn't, Mikey was mine to protect and I would do it. Even if it meant leaving the other two behind.

FLASHBACK

SEVEN YEARS OLD

“Hey Raph do you miss Leo and Donnie?“ Mikey asked his blue eyes looking into my green.

“Sometimes, mainly because they were our brothers and I at some point loved them, but they hurt you to much for me to like them. I love them, but I don't like them. It's a weird feeling in my chest, and it hurts to think about them going through what you did now that your gone and no longer available to be the punching bag.“ 

“Yeah I love them to, still do, but I don't like how they treated me. What will happen if they come into our lives and they want to apologize for what they did?“ He asked laying on my bed cuddling into my side. 

“Well I think that if they say what I always say to you, about you and me. Then we will forgive them, but until then we keep our guard up and protect each other like we do now. I love you Mikey, you are the most important person in my life.“ I grabbed him and let him snuggle into my chest we fell asleep with smiles on our faces.

END FLASHBACK

I smiled it was happening like back then. For the past few days Mikey slept in my bed so I could keep an eye on him. He didn't mind just now cuddling involved a lot more people. Leatherhead would come over every day to check on Mikey, Jake would come over to help me keep the Cavern clean and the green room going. Jess would go and get what we needed. With Mikey out of commission we got take out soup from Murakami, the only other person we would trust food from. Jess could cook if she follows a recipe, and I could too, I was to worried about Mikey and kept spacing. And Jess was worrying about a test at school that she needed to pass. 

I shook my head we were headed to Murakami's to thank him for the food and get some more soup from him. I opened the door to see Leo and Donnie inside. I froze before putting my arm out to stop Mikey from coming inside.

“Raph what's going on?“ He asked trying to move my arm. 

“Don't I want you to go back out and call Jake and Jess we're gonna need back up,” I said anything to get him out of the building. He nodded and walked back out to make the call. 

I turned back to my brothers and glared, I crossed my arms and waited for them to explain what was going on. 

“I know it looks like we are following you, but we just like the food here. We were coming here to get some and then head home, we found this on the wall held by a knife.“

I nodded to Leo I remember Jess saying they were here. I knew they weren't following us, it looked suspicious but they weren't. I took the note from Leo's hand and read it. My blood froze seeing it was signed by the Purple Dragons. Now it makes since they took Murakami and they wanted Leo and Donnie to track them down. 

They wouldn't dare attack the store owner twice in the week. They now we would step in and do something. So they took him to the dragons territory. I growled before hearing Mikey coming back in. I turned to him to see that he froze at the sight in front of him. 

“Hey Mikey look at me, just me okay, their not causing any problems. They are not here for us,” I said turning to him fully and grabbed his cheeks that always has him focusing on me. No one else. He nodded showing he was listening and I brought him into a hug. 

“Jake and Jess said they are on the way, leatherhead is also coming,” he whispered he doesn't like talking loud after an attack. I nodded and looked over my shoulder to see the others against the wall trying to give us space. I nodded, good keep the distance. 

“So what happened?“ Mikey asked looking up at me his bright blue eyes glistening with unshed tears. 

“Murakami was taken by the purple dragons, we need to rescue him, it's a trap for those two. If it comes down to it we do what we need to. We have to rescue Murakami,” I said pushing Mikey away slightly to wipe his eyes. He nodded and breathed deeply. His confident smile came in and I knew I had my brother back. The one that I nurtured for the past ten years. The one that took time to come out of the prison he had locked himself in. I smirked and wrapped my arm around his shell and keeping him tucked close. 

Before anything else could be done, Jake, Jess, and Leatherhead came into the shop. I nodded to them and Mikey went to Leatherhead and hugged the croc. 

“So Mikey just said that we needed to hurry down here what's going on?“ Jake asked crossing his arms Jess next to him watching Donnie and Leo. 

“So Murakami has been kidnapped as a trap for those three there. We need to get him back,” I said turning to the two humans. 

“I see and they are still here why?“ Jess asked pointing to the other two turtles in the room. 

“Because the trap is for them. I have a plan and requires them to be a part of it.“ I said an evil smirk crossing my face when I turn my head to look at Donnie and Leo. They shrink away with a whimper. I chuckled at that and gestured for Leather head and Mikey to come closer. I had Mikey to one side of me with Leatherhead on the other side of Mikey. Jess was on my other side with Jake closing the line on her other side. 

I crossed my arms and waited for the other three to come closer. I gestured with my hand for them to do so.

“Are you sure about this Raph?“ Mikey whispered tilting his head closer to me. I nodded in answer and smiled at him making him calm slightly.

“So here is what is going to happen. Mikey and I are going to get Bradford don't shocked if the guy is slightly broken when he gets there, it's not my fault. Jake, Jess, and Leatherhead you are our lookouts. You will be on stand by if things go south, like they always do, you will step in. Leo and Donnie you two will go to the building and see what this guy wants with you two. If I know anything about Xever he always has a reason for doing something. You red head don't know your name and don't know your skills you will stay out of this. Don't need some one to worry about because they can't fight.“ I said my voice monotone. My side nodded on their things to do, while Leo and Donnie looked shocked and turned to look at the red head. 

“First my name is April, and second you don't tell me what to do,” April said she was like an annoying yappy dog that just would shut up. I growled my sharp teeth on display, Mikey chuckled into Leatherhead's shoulder. 

“Some one is in trouble,” Jess sang shaking her head. She was laughing as well and put her arm on Jake's shoulder like he was an arm rest. I narrowed my arms and typed into my gauntlet, my knives slipping from my shell pack. They fell into my waiting hands and I spun them so they were facing towards the red head. 

“Listen chick I don't care what you think, did you grow up on the streets from the age of five or were you sheltered from every bad thing that came your way by mommy and daddy? Were you forced to leave your family because they were abusive towards your baby brother that you had promised to protect? Did you raise your baby brother from the age of 5 onwards? No didn't think so. Did you learn how to fight your own way so that you could protect your growing family because you just can't stand by and let kids get hurt? No thought so, your the kind of kid that thinks that they are tough and strong, when in reality you never learned what it was like to actually have to fight for your life. So unless you have actually trained to fight I don't want you anywhere near this fight. You learn to fight then we talk. Until then NO!“ I yelled the last part and the girl stepped back her eyes wide and tears slipping free. 

I don't like having to do that, but some people just don't learn unless it's thrown at them at high velocity. She nodded and stepped behind my former brothers. 

“Okay Raph we will do it your way, do you know where they could be with Murakami?“ Leo asked stepping closer. I nodded they would take him to their hide out. 

LATER 

Mikey and I were waiting outside the dojo that Bradford runs waiting for him to come out. Once he did I nodded to Mikey we jumped down and smashed a trashcan on top of him. We used a spare chain and tied it around the can keeping the lid on it. Carrying it to the Scorpion was a bit difficult, he kept moving making the can very unstable. It dropped to the ground with a loud clang.

“Sorry,” Mikey said wincing a bit I scowled this is the guy that hurt my little brother why was he apologizing.

“Don't apologize to him,” I said.

“Sorry I didn't drop you harder,” he said a bit more cheerily. He looked to me with hope in his eyes. 

“That's better,” I said first bumping him. We picked up the can again and secured it to the scorpion. Once to the building that Xever had taken Murakami to I could see the man standing on the edge with Murakami hanging by a rope. He was attached to a crane like device, Mikey would be able identify it better. 

We hoisted the can to the roof we followed after listening to Leo tell Xever to let Murakami go. 

“Please just let the guy go and we give you your friend back,” he said looking my way, a bit of fear in his dark blue eyes. I nodded and smiled slightly we did our part, he needed to do his. He nodded as well and turned back to Xever. 

“No you see we need to take you in and we will, you are becoming a thorn in my master's side and you need to be taken out. And you two over on the other side did you really take in more kids? Don't you have enough?“ He asked tilting his head in our direction. I pushed Mikey behind me slightly and smirked.

“No such thing as enough, and no we didn't take them in we are just helping before disappearing again,” said sharp teeth glinting. I felt the rain before I saw it. The droplets pelting my scales. I looked to Mikey who smiled we loved the rain, but it would do good to get this over with. 

“Leatherhead they have Murakami hanging over the building if he falls I need you to be there to catch him. Jake, Jess come up we have unwanted guests, make sure your armed. And yes Leatherhead I will protect Mikey,” I said pushing a button on my visor and connecting to the others on the ground. I heard confirmations before letting the connection drop. 

I stood taller and Mikey followed and set the can on the edge of the roof. Waiting for the right time to strike. 

“Look let the guy go and we won't drop your friend off the roof,” Leo said saying exactly what I told him to. What he didn't know was that I'm not bluffing. I will drop him if he does the same to Murakami. I do not bluff, he doesn't need to know that. 

“No I don't think you will, but him I know he will won't you Raphael?“ He asked looking to me, I could see Leo's wide eyes land on me as well. He shook his head no like he didn't believe what Xever said. 

“You know I will Xever, it's how we knew to go after him, you two aren't close but you would be in trouble with your Master if you let him get hurt so let Murakami go and you don't have to explain to your Master why one of his strongest soldiers is dead and the turtles are still running free.“ I said gesturing for Mike to start the process. He grinned sharply and started to tilt the can over the building. 

I punched a Purple Dragon that tried to sneak up on me. Leo doing the same to the ones that had tried to attack him and Donnie. 

“Mikey do it,” I said looking over to him and he nodded pushing the trashcan over the edge letting it fall with a clang to the ground. Good riddance. 

“No Raph why would you do that?“ Leo asked running to catch the can. He was to late.

“Why because that fucker attacked my baby brother, he tried to kidnap him. He had it coming then they go after the one under our protection knowing that we are a no bars held kind of group. We kill if we need to Leonardo. That is what they world has taught us. I'm sorry that Splinter was to much of a pussy to teach you and Donnie that. It's a kill or be killed world Leo learn that before you end up dead with a bullet through your skull.“ 

“Are you going to be the one to put it there Raph, if the need arose would you kill me, or Donnie? What about one of your own?“ Leo asked glaring at me, he was getting closer, I could see the heavy bags under his eyes from lack of sleep. Mikey gets them all the time. 

“Would I killed you? Yes but only if you go after one of my own. Anybody in the Sunset Pheonix is under my protection. Would I kill one of them, no because they wouldn't turn their backs on me, unlike the two turtles that I know.“ I said growling between my teeth. Let him try to attack and I will show no mercy. I grabbed him by the shell and brought him in closer. 

“He's not dead, he landed in our vehicle, he is still trapped but the other does not need to know. All he knows is that he is going to be in a lot of trouble for letting his partner die,” I whispered into his ear he nodded and stepped back a relieved smile on his face. Well what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him. The guy was probably dead, not my problem. 

“It's finished turtles the old man is a goner!“ Yelled Xever throwing a knife to cut the rope. Murakami fell with a yell. I was worried until I got the call that he had been caught and put in the Scorpion. I sighed in relief Murakami safe the fight was getting wrapped up Jess was a mad woman with her blades. 

Jake looked up at me and nodded he was good with just his twin. I nodded back and turned to Mikey who had blood dripping from his leg and a smile on his face. 

“Xever's gone so is the trashcan that held Bradford. Think he lived the fall. He got a swing at me and landed but he no longer has a full hand of fingers.“ He said his grin never faultering. 

I grinned back and walked up to check his leg. Seeing the knife wound I typed into my gauntlet letting the items I needed to fall from the pack. The disinfectant wipes and bandages were set down next to me so I could treat Mikey. 

“So now that the danger is gone, can I ask something before Donnie and I leave?“ Leo asked stopping Donnie from getting closer. 

“One question,” I said.

“Are you able to forgive us?“ He asked I could hear the tiredness creeping up on him like my answer will sway him one way or another. 

I looked to Mikey who nodded, I sighed and after tightening the bandage into place stood to turn fully to my older brother. 

“Yes we will be able to forgive you and Donnie, but you have to give us space and allow us to move at our own pace. You hurt Mikey badly and you didn't show any remorse for it then. Give us time. At times it won't seem like we aren't trying, but we are and we just have bad days and need space.“

Leo looked so happy that he was practically glowing, I grimaced at that and turned back to Mikey. 

“Let's go home this rain is not gonna help you with your cold. Bye you two, see ya 'round,” I said hopping off the roof to ground level after picking Mikey up. I set him in the Scorpion and climbed into the driver seat. I took Murakami home and then drove Mikey and I home a lot on both of our minds. We sat down to a fresh bowl of stew, chicken this time, made by Mikey. It was a soft night curled together with Chocolate and Marshmello, Mikey's new cat joining us. 

It was good the added weight of Mikey on top of me helped calm me I'm gonna have to keep a close eye out for him to make sure he's not pushing himself to forgive to soon. 

Chapter Text

MIKEY

“So does anybody have any news?“ Raph asked the large filled room. We were standing on a stage above the group of humans and mutants alike. Jake and Jess we're sitting on a couple of chairs on the stage they were off to he side discussing something. Leatherhead was behind me also sitting down. 

A girl with blond hair and green eyes raised her hand. She had a scar under her right eye that had made her a victim to bullying. She came to us when she was six and has been a loyal member since. Raph nodded to her and she stood. 

“I saw the red head you told us to keep an eye on, she was being chased by a mutant pigeon,” she said, I looked to Raph, he had the same shocked look as me. I nodded to Raph's look and walked off the stage Leatherhead following me. 

We hopped the rooftops looking for the red head. We had decided to keep an eye on her after seeing that she was close to Donnie and Leo. We may not be happy with our brothers, but they are still our brothers. No matter what happens they are still family. So keeping an eye on the human was a sure thing. 

I shook the thoughts from my head when I heard April's voice. She sounded done with what she was doing. I ran to the edge of the building bringing my visor down over my eyes. The world gained an orange tint to it, and several blue lines appeared. I set the camera function on and sharing it with Raph. He answered immediately like he always does. I didn't say anything and just watched the interaction of the red head. 

I took note of Leo and Donnie on another rooftop also watching her. I circled them in the video showing Raph they were there as well. He was continuing the meeting undisturbed by the video playing Infront of his eyes. It goes to show how often we do this. 

I listened to the meeting while watching the girl on the ground. The pigeon mutant came out of no where and I jumped at his appearance. Leatherhead jumped to attention he had started drifting like I did. We looked at each other and nodded. We went to jump in on the fight. Donnie and Leo looked shocked to see me, and a little terrified of Leatherhead.

I never learned what happened after Leatherhead found me the first time Leo and Donnie had found me. I was told it had been taken care of and that they wouldn't be bothering me anymore. 

“Leatherhead detain the mutant please,” I said not taking my eyes off my brothers. Leatherhead complied and grabbed the mutant by the wings and bringing him to the ground. Where he was held until we got the answers we were looking for.

“So what is going on, Raph and I were told by a member of the Sunset Phoenix that April was being chased by a pigeon mutant,” I said crossing my arms, keeping my visor trained on them. Their minute movements tracked and pointed out by the outlines of blue around them. 

“Yes she was and we set up a trap to find out why he is chasing her,” Leo said looking away from me his hands clasped around each other. I looked to Donnie to see he was also looking guilty. 

“So you used her as bait? Well that doesn't sound very heroic, I mean you got upset at us killing. Using some one as bait is just as bad, I mean they can be killed if the plan doesn't go as planned,” I said my eyes half closed in boredom. I was getting tired of this interaction I needed something else to do that I was actually interested in, maybe a new project is in order. 

“Well it was the only way to capture the mutant, so let's see why he's chasing her,” Donnie said quickly and turned to the mutant. I felt bad he was down on his luck here. After this he was going to be in the Sunset Phoenix we have people that can help him. 

I nodded to Leatherhead to let the mutant go and the pigeon stood up and wrapped his wings around himself. His wings were thinned from stress preening. His body was also tale tells of the stress the poor mutant had went through. 

“Well I was sent by her father to tell her that the Kraang are doing something very dangerous, he wants you to leave the city, it's just to dangerous,” the mutant said his wings flapping together over and over. 

“I see, did you hear that Raph?“ I asked looking at the video call on my visor. 

“Wait Raph where is he?“ Leo asked looking around. 

“No I'm on a call with him,” I said after getting the confirmation from Raph. Leo nodded and turned to Donnie and April.

“I'm gonna come down get the building and send that pigeon to Jake, he is going to get him situated into a small house that he can live in with some guards to make sure the Kraang don't find him.“ Raph said I agreed and walked up to the pigeon. 

“So where is the Kraang now? I wish to give them a small visit,” I said pressing a few buttons on my guantlet. 

“Yeah that tall building over there,” the pigeon said pointing with a feather finger. I nodded and took out a piece of paper from my guantlet that had just printed out. I handed it to the pigeon who took it. 

“Go there you will meet two humans who will a home that you can stay in,” I said and smiled, the pigeon looked so shocked and wrapped his wings around me. I patted his feathered back and watched him fly off the paper held in his beak. 

“So are we going to the building?“ Leo asked and I turned to him, I raised a brow at him before sighing. I pushed my initial fear down more and moved closer to Leatherhead. 

“No we are waiting on Raph-” I started before I was cut off by the red headed human. 

“What about my father?“ She asked her anger filling her voice I glared at the girl.

“He will be saved, but we are waiting for Raph to get here, once he's here Leatherhead you can go back home,” I said first to April then to my crocodile mutant friend. Leatherhead looked shocked and he looked down to me. 

“Michelangelo I will not leave you alone,” he said putting his clawed hand on my shoulder. 

“I won't be alone, I'll have Raph. Besides I can't let you go through that, you still have nightmares about them, you have PTSD because of them. I won't let you fight them.“ 

“Micheal I will be fine, I am coming with,” he said a growl to his voice I watched as Leo and Donnie stepped back. I didn't though I stepped closer and smiled.

Leatherhead stepped back his eyes going wide. I grinned showing sharp teeth, and leveled a piercing look at him. 

“Leatherhead, you need to go, when Raph gets here we will be fine, but I can't have you going into a panic attacks seeing them, or even going after them when this needs to be a stealth mission. Your not exactly stealthy.“ 

Raph landed next to me, he crossed his arms, his own green eyes glaring at the croc. He sighed and nodded turning and running off. I felt bad for him, but he can't do this yet he will get worse Timothy said he wasn't ready for it yet. And Timothy's word is law when it comes to the mind. I know better then to go against him. 

I turned to the others and got ready to say something I am going to regret even more. In the back of my mind wishing I could follow Leatherhead, I shook my head at that thought.

“Alright we are gonna have to split up. Two of us going to find Mr, O'Neil, and two of us to find the control room and find out what the Kraang are planning.“ 

Raph nodded along while the other two were talking to April about her not being allowed to come she would be a hindrance. Once they convinced her to stay back they turned back to Raph and I. 

“So you and me and them two together?“ He asked.

I shook my head this would not be easy to do, but we were gonna have to split apart differently. 

“No they have no way to contact us, their phones aren't connected to my system. Only the ones in my system is allowed through my phones. We are gonna have to do this differently. You are gonna go with Leo, go and get Mr. O'Neil, while Donnie and I go to the control room. I'm gonna need another pair of hands to hack into their systems.“ 

Raph looked shocked, but he thought about it, and reluctantly nodded. He was on board I didn't need to see my other two brothers to see they were happy with this. 

“You stay on call with me at all times. You hear me?“

I nodded and made the call then so that it was also recorded. I like to record things I find it easier to remember things when I could go back to it later. 

He answered the call and I saw the picture come up of me looking at him. 

DONNIE

So my week was going great, note the sarcasm. I find out that because of my stupid actions my lost brothers had decided to stay underground for 'a while'. I know what that means They had been scared and feared the people and mutants that had tried to hurt them. 

When April had come in screaming about a mutant trying to hurt her, I set those thoughts aside and set on trying to help the human. She explained that the mutant had tracked her down and attacked.

“We need to figure out why this mutant is attacking April,” Leo said his eyes were tired he didn't think that I wouldn't notice but I can tell when his insomnia attacks. I sighed and vowed to keep an eye on him. 

Once topside and following April from the rooftops making sure she was safe. The pigeon mutant swooped down from the sky dive bombing the girl. I jumped down to protect her, once I was between April and the bird did he stop. 

“Sorry I was trying to find her to tell her something,” the pigeon said his flapping together like it was a nervous habit. I noticed his wings had been preened to much. His body had patches of skin showing. He was stress grooming. I felt kinda bad for him, I didn't have much time to ponder this when Mikey and to my horror Leatherhead joined us on the ground. I was happy to see my little brother, but not the croc. He was a little unwelcomed. 

After the pigeon had been sent on his way to a safe spot given by Mikey. I looked to him, it was the first time that I get a really good look at him. He stood tall, not the hunched over form that I remember from the past. He had a kind smile on his face as he watched the mutant fly away. He never smiled like that at Leo or I. He had a metal circle on his shell it seemed to meld directly into his shell. With several diamonds embedded into his shell. The spear was attached to the metal circle, not interfering with the diamonds. He had a metal band going around his forehead two metal discs resting over his ear holes. The metal had an orange visor coming down with a picture of what looked like a room filled with humans and mutants. 

All in all he looked really confident and a very willing fighter. The gauntlet on his left hand glinted and I saw the orange keypad on it. 

I missed so much of him growing and I really would go back in time to change what I did. Maybe if I did I would have been able to see him grow into this confident and happy mutant. 

“He will be saved, but we are waiting for Raph to get here, once he's here Leatherhead you can go back home,” Mikey said and I looked up to see the croc had a shocked look on his face. 

“Michelangelo I will not leave you alone,” he said putting a clawed hand on my brother's shoulder, the one opposite the scars on his shoulder.

“I won't be alone, I'll have Raph. Besides I can't let you go through that, you still have nightmares about them, you have PTSD because of them. I won't let you fight them.“ that was Mikey.

“Micheal I will be fine, I am coming with,” the croc urged he was caving to Mikey I could already see it, he only needed another push.

“Leatherhead, you need to go, when Raph gets here we will be fine, but I can't have you going into a panic attacks seeing them, or even going after them when this needs to be a stealth mission. Your not exactly stealthy.“ Oh that would hurt, I know how Leatherhead feels for Mikey I had heard him that first night. I just know getting told that by some one you love would hurt. 

I watched as Raph landed next to Mikey his green eyes being that final push for Leatherhead to nod and run off down the street. Wow they can be stealthy I didn't even hear Raph approaching. 

I had turned at the sound of yelling coming from April. I sighed she was making a fuss about joining. But she can't she would get hurt we can't always have half our attention on her. She will need to be trained. 

“Hey April in order to join us you need to train to fight. We can't always be there to protect you, and if you are wanting to join us you need to be able to fight and defend yourself as well as others. Go to the lair and see if Master Splinter will start your training. I'm sure he will be delighted to have another student.“ April looked shocked, but all I did was say the truth I was tired of her getting into trouble that I had to get her out of. And she was making my scales turn gray didn't think that was possible. 

She nodded and turned to go to the lair. I sighed and turned to my brightly colored brothers. Raph looked similar to Mikey, the same metal circle on his shell that seemed to meld to the shape of his shell. Though he didn't have the metal diamonds. He had a gun on his hip the same as Mikey's and a gauntlet that looked similar to Mikey's as well. Though his visor and color accents on his gear was red instead of orange. The world must look so weird to them if they look only through those visors. 

He looked confident and he smiled proudly to Mikey before pushing a button his gauntlet and the visor disappeared into the metal band on his head. So they don't always have them down. I could see a difference in Raph, he didn't hunch over in anger anymore he was relaxed and calm. And his arm going over Mikey seemed so natural like he does it all the time. 

“Alright we are gonna have to split up. Two of us going to find Mr, O'Neil, and two of us to find the control room and find out what the Kraang are planning.“ 

I nodded that sound good. But how would we stay in touch I would like to talk to them before they leave again. Maybe get to know them a bit more. 

“So you and me and them two together?“ Raph asked and I waited for Mikey's answer he looked uncomfortable with what he was about to say. I wanted to comfort him and tell him it would be okay.

“No they have no way to contact us, their phones aren't connected to my system. Only the ones in my system is allowed through my phones. We are gonna have to do this differently. You are gonna go with Leo, go and get Mr. O'Neil, while Donnie and I go to the control room. I'm gonna need another pair of hands to hack into their systems.“ 

I was shocked, but happy that he felt like me going with him. It made it seem he was trying to get to know me as well. It made a warm feeling fill my chest.

I looked to Raph and waited for the signature anger to come, but it never did he closed his eyes and breathed deeply his posture calmed and he nodded. He turned his head to Mikey his eyes narrowed. 

“You stay on call with at all times,” he said I felt a little confused. On call, then the realization came the picture I had seen on Mikey's visor was a call he was having with Raph. The room filled humans and mutants was a meeting that they were having. Mikey seemed to have just been strolling around on a call with Raph. 

Mikey nodded and initiated the call and the red visor came down once more. Two videos came up one on each visor. On Mikey's it showed him standing there a soft look in his eyes. And in Raph's was a video of himself his eyes soft as well until they hardened and turned to Leo. He walked over to him and stood next to him.

LATER

standing in the control room, with Mikey was a little nerve wracking. One wrong move and I risk turning them away from us. I watched Mikey fiddle with the computer the purple and pink on the screen made no sense to me, but it seemed that Mikey could understand what he was doing. I felt a little useless, it was like I was unneeded. 

“Donnie I'm gonna need your help, I want you to put your hands where I point to, and move them as I tell you to.“ I looked to my little brother and his blue eyes were trained on the console. I nodded and stepped closer. What ever it was he needed I would do it. 

He pointed to a to me, random point and I put my right hand on it. He then pointed to another and I did the same with my left hand. He then used his hands to push to more points and the screen lit up. He shuffled through several files the words looked weird and untranslatable. He seemed to be able to read it his visor pointed at it. He was probably showing Raph what was going on.

“Do you see this Raph?“ Mikey asked and I could see the video on Raph's end moving up and down, showing Raph was watching the video call. 

“Hey I need you to focus on what we are doing, please I can't fight them all on my own,” Leo whispered I could still hear it, Mikey must have a speaker function on it. 

“I am focused on what we are doing, ever heard of multitasking? I can focus on a call and what I'm doing in front of me. I do it all the time, Mikey and I do it like this when we are separated. You didn't think it was a coincidence that Leatherhead found you in those tunnels did you. Mikey was on a call with me until he met up with him.“

I focused back on Mikey who looked horrified. I looked at the screen and saw a diagram of what appeared to be a bomb?

“This isn't good. Raph stop arguing with Leo and listen.“ The sound from that end ceased immediately. “The Kraang are setting up a bomb to dump mutagen all over the city.“ I looked to the screen how did he get all that? Could be ready what the weird symbols said? 

“Shit, that's not good okay, Leo and I have almost made it to the cell. Gonna need the code to open it, then we are out. What I want you to do is go out to the bomb with Donnie and diffuse it. We don't need that happening. Do you know where it's going to be placed?“ Raph asked and Mikey looked back to the screen he scanned it. His eyes zoomed through the writing. 

“They have it on Wolf Hotel,” Mikey said before typing some more and opening a file. He typed into his gauntlet and swiped through it. 

“Thanks Mike, we'll see you at the hotel soon after getting the man some where safe,” Raph said and Mikey nodded.  

We turned out of the room and ran to the hotel that the bomb was built on top of. Once there Mikey didn't even stop he ran to the bomb to diffuse it. I stood behind him watching for any threats. Only one turtle could fit in front of bomb. 

The cruel laughter of Xever and Bradford caused Mikey to stop and look behind him. I could see his blue eyes widen. I steeled my nerves and narrowed my eyes. 

“Continue diffusing the bomb, I'll protect you, I promise,” I said turning back to the two humans that approached. 

“Donnie, are you sure?“ He asked his voice wavering a bit. That stung, he was still nervous about me. I nodded and I rushed the smaller of the two humans. I didn't focus on what Mikey was doing behind me. The only thing I did was make sure the two humans never got any closer to my brother. The one that I was not able to protect before and the one that I would lay my life on the line for now. 

I dodged a sword that tried to behead me when Leo jumped in and knocked the smaller human away from me. His eyes were a pure white and he was glaring at Xever. I looked behind me to see Raph going after Bradford, his eyes were white and slits if I didn't know our eyes could do that I wouldn't have even known that his eyes had gone completely white. His visor was up, showing off his emerald scales that were stretched to the max showing off a mouthful of sharp teeth that were pulled into a snarl. I stepped back at the pure look of rage on his face. 

I looked to Mikey to see him looking at Raph a shocked look on his face, so this wasn't normal. Raph rushed in his dual knives spinning in his hands. He rushed the larger human, his knives held to block a sword and spun around slashing with the other out cutting the man's cheek. 

Leo had Xever on the ropes, I zoomed in to help him. I knew Raph wouldn't welcome any help from me, so I went with the brother I had grown up with. 

I distantly heard Mikey exclaim that he had did it, his eyes then suddenly turned white and he shot Bradford in the arm. The gun didn't shoot real bullets more like the laser bullets that the Kraang shot. Which good, but bad as well. They were willing to kill, I can't even wrap my mind around the thought of how many they had killed. I shook my head Xever was on the ground knocked out, and Bradford was soon dispatched and laying next to the other human. Leo looked to Raph and Mikey who both still looked murderous, but didn't do anything else. 

“Just this once Leo we won't kill, for you two. You kept your end of the deal in not looking for us. So for that we won't kill, this time. He comes after my brother again though and I will not hesitate to kill him.“ 

I looked shocked to Raph that was a surprise. Though he was correct we didn't go looking for them this time they had come to Leo and I. Even letting themselves be split apart, slightly. They were still on call with each other but I was left with Mikey alone and was trusted not to hurt him. I think I did a good job. Hopefully.

“Well isn't this a lovely sight, one day you will have to tell me how my enemy came to teach four turtles the art of ninjitsu, maybe if I let one of you to live.“

That voice sent chills down my shell like ice was just dumped down it. I turned to see a human in dark gray armour his gloves holding claws that extended out like blades. I took a step closer to Leo, hoping Raph and Mikey would join us. And getting ready to defend them if they decided to fight. 

“Uh two, he trained two turtles, we ran away from his abuse when we were five. Yeah we have no association with him,” Mikey said gesturing to himself and Raph who had stepped in front of Mikey with his knives in hand. Another one was floating next to him. How do they get this tech, I want it. 

“Oh well your in association with those two, then that is enough for me,” the voice echoed due to the helmet the guy was wearing, it hid most of his face, though I could see his eyes narrow on Mikey and Raph. 

I tensed ready to attack. The guy attacked first jumping towards Raph and Mikey who separated and turned to attack on both sides. Mikey messed with his guantlet and the diamonds came out to sail through the air and towards the man. They sliced through slots in the armour making blood sleep out slowly. Raph had turned and with a swipe on his guantlet had his floating knife sail towards the human and aimed for the eye holes in the helmet. 

The guy knocked the knife off course and towards me my eyes widened when the knife tip almost punctured my eye. It stopped before it could and I looked to Raph who nodded to the guy. I nodded and jumped into join the fight. He had attacked my brothers he was going to pay. 

I jumped to hit his head hoping to knock the helmet off if we got that off we could have a chance. Once my bo made contact it broke in half. The metal in the core snapping. It reverberated in my hands knocking me back onto my shell. Leo soared over me his swords in hand his eyes white and trained on the man. He blocked the bladed gloves and gave the opening to Raph to throw his knives into finish it. Before he could though Leo was thrown back into the wall and Raph was picked up by his plastron and thrown into an electrical box. The box short circuited and shocked the brightly colored turtle. His scream seemed to set Mikey off and he directed his diamonds to hold the guy in place before raising his gun to shoot the guy. 

The groaning of the mutagen canister got our attention. I looked over to see that Leo being thrown had dislodged the canister and it started to tilt. The guy dodged the mutagen, I reached for Leo while Mikey got Raph, and we got out of the way of the glowing green ooze. It did wash Xever and Bradford over the edge. 

I was wide eyed that was not good. That could go anywhere. Or even worse into sewer and mutating some flora or fauna that is down there. We will have to figure that out later. I looked to Mikey would he have a way out of here. We needed to leave. Leo was hurt and I know that Raph was in pain from the fact he hadn't even opened his eyes and he had a tight hold on our baby brother. 

He nodded and swiped on his guantlet and the diamonds formed a board at his feet he stepped on and held Raph on his shell. I followed him keeping Leo on my shell. The board lifted and zoomed out of the area it was so fast but the clamps on my feet kept me in place. The board flew fast and sure to a secluded spot. Mikey jumped off first and I followed he had the diamonds lift the man hole cover and slipped under ground I followed and let the diamonds put the cover back in place. 

They flew back to Mikey and melded back into his shell. The light of them being activated dimmed then was snuffed out. I breathed deeply setting Leo on the ground and sitting down as well. 

Mikey did the same to Raph but held him up after typing into his guantlet some things fell from the metal circle that was on Raph's shell.

“What is that Mikey?“ I asked pointing the metal circle. 

“Huh oh their called Shell Packs, I made them when I was younger and found a Kraang portal generator. I was able to reverse engineered the device to fit inside the metal disc. It's held at an angel so that it can fit. But long story short it's a pack to hold out gear. I have multiple weapons and Raph has weapons and medical gear he is the medic, but I learned so that if he was hurt I could help him.“

I blinked Mikey had reversed engineered alien tech, along with learning their language in written form. He was so smart how could I have not seen that. 

Mikey you are so stupid! 

Go away you'll only break something!

Why do I have to tutor him he doesn't want to learn how am I supposed to teach him?

I shook those thoughts out and looked up to Mikey, he looked a little unsure of himself and was going through the motions of taking care of Raph's electrical burns. He turned to Leo to check him for injuries. He had a wound on his head and it was cleaned and wrapped by Mikey. 

“Mikey, I want to apologize for ever thinking that you were stupid,” I said not looking at him my eyes trained on the fungus on the walls. 

“I just want to ask why, you used to teach me so much, why did you stop?“ He asked he stepped closer and his voice held a tremor to it I flinched at that. Why did I start doing that? What had caused me to attack my brother like that?

FLASHBACK

“Donatello, you have a remarkable brain if only your brother's could think like you do,” Splinter said the others were in the room at the time, but I didn't care Master Splinter had complemented me I was riding high. 

“Thank you Master Splinter, I can help with the others if you want,” I had offered the help, I remember that. The look of disgust hadn't registered to me at the time, but I saw clear as day now. 

“Thank you Donatello, but I do not think they will be as good as you, especially Michelangelo,” he said and I saw in the corner of my vision of Mikey deflating at that and Raph rushing to comfort him like always. It made my jealousy grow. 

“Yeah I guess Master Splinter,” I had said instead of standing up for Mikey I had let my jealousy get in the way and show that I could be like my dad. My brothers needed to learn this and they wouldn't if we were to sugar coat it.

It never accord to me that Mikey learned differently and he was really smart under all of it. 

END FLASHBACK

I stepped closer to Mikey and hugged him he stiffened before relaxing he didn't return the hug. I didn't expect him to, but he relaxed into it. 

“I'm sorry Mikey I let my jealousy get in the way of helping you,” I said into his shoulder.

“Jealousy? Jealousy of what?“ He asked stopping back he was wiping tears from his eyes.

“My jealousy of you and Raph being so close. I wanted that closeness with Raph and you as well. I noticed long ago that Raph loved you more and I was hurt that my own brothers didn't want to be around me. I didn't realize it was because of me that he stopped loving me.“

“Never stopped lovin' ya, still love ya just stopped showin' it as much when you attacked Mikey.“ I looked to Raph he was awake and standing a little wobbly on his legs but standing. 

I sniffled as my eyes filled with more tears, I reached up to wipe them away and was engulfed in a hug. I sobbed into my older brothers shoulder he just held me. I finally broke I couldn't do it any more, I need my brothers more then anything and I sobbed. 

“Don't leave me please don't ever leave me again. All I want is my brothers together again!“

“Sorry Don, but as long as that rat is there we ain't going back to the lair. Besides Mike and I have our own home and a home we love. We don't want to move back, but we won't leave ya unless you hurt Mike again. Then you will never see us again.“

I nodded and stepped back, I picked up Leo and made the trek back home. I looked back to Mikey and Raph playing around their laughter filling the tunnels. 

I sighed Splinter ruined everything, I will be having words with him. A lot of words. 

Chapter Text

CHAPTER 12

LEO

I sighed tiredness dragging my limbs and making my eyes close and threaten not to open again anytime soon. I was shocked awake, when yelling came from the dojo. I sat up and looked towards the rice paper doors. I saw Donnie's silhouette standing in front of our father who was sitting on the floor. From the shape his head was bowed. 

Then the words hit me, the words of a hurt brother that needed comfort. 

"Why did you push Leo and I to hurt our brother?!" 

"Why would you hurt your child?!" 

"Why would you want to make one of your children afraid of you of us?!" 

"You are the worst father alive!" 

I opened the dojo door and seeing that Donnie had tears streaming down his face and his hands were shaking. I stepped closer and pulled him into my chest. He curled close to me and started to sob. I looked to our father and he looked shocked, his ears were lowered to his head. His eyes were distant, and tears were sitting in the corners. I steered Donnie out of the dojo, and to the living room. I sat him on the couch sitting down with him and let him release his emotions. I don't know where he got the notion that Master Splinter was the cause, but I didn't care. Donnie needed me and I would take care of him before going to talk to Master Splinter. 

"It's okay Donnie I got you, your not alone," I said and he sniffled, curling further into me. I wrapped him up and cradled him close. It was hours later Donnie was sitting in my lap, working on putting a camera in his mask. I was watching an episode of Spaceheros, it was low as Donnie had a headache from crying. 

"Hey guys, you'll never guess what happened," April said walking into the lair. I looked up and put a finger to my lips asking quietly that she quieten down. She stopped and looked startled, she walked further in to see a despondent Donnie sitting in my lap and his shell hunched down while he worked. 

"What happened?" She asked quietly. coming around the couch and sitting down. 

"He got into a shouting match with Master Splinter and then broke down, I've been calming him down," I said rubbing Donnie's shell when he squirmed. He had tried to run away, but I wouldn't let him. He needed comfort and he would be comforted weather he liked it or not. 

"Oh."

"Yeah, so what happened? you seemed to upset when you came in," I said turning my attention to her and let Donnie feel better with all the attention on April and not him. 

"Oh yeah the Purple Dragons attacked me and some of Mikey and Raph's friends stepped in to help me, though the Purple Dragons stole my phone," she said looking shocked. "Are they having mutants follow me, the ones to jump in were all mutants."

I looked to Donnie and his eyes were wide as well and we both turned to look at the red head who looked confused. 

"Wait you were attacked?" I asked latching onto the fact that our friend had been potentially hurt. 

"Yeah I was, but Mikey and Raph's friends helped me. they jumped in as soon as they attacked, but they had still been able to take my phone. I'm more curious about your brothers friends. They were all mutants, like one a panther and another was a fox he looked older then the panther mutant," she said fidgeting with her fingers. 

I looked at Donnie again and he looked deep in thought, I was about to say something when Donnie spoke up. I looked shocked down at him he had gone non-verbal. 

"We need to get that phone back, or find a way to destroy it, don't worry I'll make you another one, but we need to get it back. If they happen to find a way to hack into it, they will be able to find the lair's location from it." 

That got me moving, I let Donnie get up and I stood as well. we have to get it back. I was already planning a meeting with Mikey and Raph, so that we can find their hide out, and maybe they could help us. 

"Stay here April it's time for your training, while you do that we will get your phone back," I said going to my room to grab my swords. I came back out Donnie had got his bo-staff, and April had disappeared into the dojo. 

I vowed to talk to Master Splinter when we got back, he needed comfort as well, he just had one of his remaining sons yelling at him that he was the reason for Mikey and Raph leaving. I shook my head, I still needed to talk to Donnie on why he did that. We traveled down the tunnels and once we made it to the tunnels we marked as Mikey and Raph's we stopped and waited, we were antsy more for the fact the longer we waited the more time the Purple Dragons had to break into April's phone. I knew that Mikey had cameras planted all along this tunnel, so I knew they knew we were here. 

It didn't take long for the two to come down the tunnel though they looked like they were going on a mission themselves. They were talking lowly so I couldn't hear what they were saying. They paused when they saw us, and Raph had glared at us, while Mikey froze slightly, before relaxing and stepping behind Raph slightly. Raph had stiffened when Mikey moved behind him and stepped side ways so that Mikey was more hidden behind him. 

"Look this is the first time we ever had come looking for you, and I'm sorry, but we need to know where the Purple Dragons hide out is, they took April's phone and we need to get it back before they find the lair." I laid it all out hope filling me making me warm. 

"Oh that is bad, they are in an old storage building along the east river. Between water street, and south street," Mikey said piping up from behind his brother shield. Raph nodded and crossed his arms. 

"Thanks, would you like to help us? We could use the help," I said rubbing my arm. They looked at each other and Mikey shook his head and Raph then nodded, it was amazing to see them communicate with just their eyes and body language. 

"Sorry, but we can't ourselves, but we can send a few friends that can help instead. We got info on Baxter and we need to take care of him before he kills again," Raph said while Mikey was on the phone with his visor down, we would get the help weather we liked it or not. 

"Right he needs to be taken care of as well," I said not looking at them fear of making them mad enough to leave coursing through me. 

"Alright, on the corner of the street above us and to the right you will meet a lion and a panther mutant, they are going to help you. They are skilled in taekwondo so they should be able to fight along side you," Mikey said coming back to stand by Raph his nerves seemed to have calmed. 

"thank you both be careful with your fight," I said turning to leave the tunnel, Donnie following me. They nodded and turned to go another direction their heads held close and whispering once more. Mikey's visor had gone up and the blue orbs were focused only on his brother. I sighed and moved to go topside. We turned right and standing at the corner was a female lion mutant, that had fur that seemed to grow like hair it was long and flowing. her dual colored eyes were trained on the panther mutant who was a little shorter then her. She turned her green and purple eyes on us. She sniffed and nodded, she agreed to something the panther said. 

"Hey Mikey and Raph sent us to help you, we'll guide ya to the storage, and help you get the phone back," the panther said his voice sounded young, like our age young. I nodded, and held my hand out to shake. They smirked and took it one after the other, the lion first then the panther. 

They turned off and started walking down the road, and to a van that was parked on the road. The lion climbed into the front and the panther climbed into the back waving for us to follow them. I climbed in followed by Donnie who was hunched over still. I was getting worried for him and sat next to him on the bench seat. 

"So how 'bout introductions? My name is Darcy and this is Jakob, and you?" The lion, or Darcy asked. 

I looked at her and smiled, seemed she wanted to be nice, maybe she wasn't one to start anything and follow what she has been told. 

"I am Leonardo, or Leo, and this is Donatello, or Donnie," I said pointing to Donnie when I said his name, he was still not talking much and didn't like talking to total strangers. 

"Nice to finally meet ya'll, I've heard quiet a bit about you, Boss is always rantin' about ya'll. Sometimes it's anger and sometimes it's exasperation," she said not taking her eyes off the road. 

I smiled at that, they talked about us, probably not all good things, but I'm glad they would talk about us. 

I looked to Donnie, he was tapping his fingers on the bench, he looked nervous. I sighed maybe this drive will be a good place to ask him why he yelled at Master Splinter?

"So Donnie mind telling me why you yelled at Master Splinter?" I asked scooting closer, and resting my hand on his shell. He looked at me a fire in his eyes, I had reignited the fire that had been there. 

"Because he is the reason that Mikey and Raph left, he is the one to start the abuse, he is the one to tell us that what we were doing was okay, because our brother was and I quote 'he is to weak'. He called Mikey weak, and that if we coddled him he wouldn't become strong. Well that was a fat lie now wasn't it? As we can see Raph who coddled Mikey more then anything else he has become very strong, smart, and confident."

I was shocked did Donnie want to leave me and Master Splinter, I frowned and looked to the floor of the van. "Do you want to leave me and Master Splinter? Do you want to go live with Raph and Mikey?" I asked not looking at him.

"No I want to stay with you and Dad, I just want him to understand that what he did was bad and not something he needed to do," he said putting his hand on mine, making me look at him. I nodded and brought him into my side. 

"We're here," Jakob said I looked out to see the building, it was large and floodlights surrounded it. 

RAPH

Mikey and I crept down the street, our visors down and a hard look in our eyes. this man had caused us so much trouble to hunt down. If it wasn't for Slash and Jakie we wouldn't have been able to find him at all. The abandoned warehouse he had hunkered down in was barely lit that we had to put our visor to night vision mode. 

We spent days spying on him and waiting for the right moment to strike, he needed to die, he caused so much heartache for those families. Mikey was on the other side of the room, we were connected by video call. I could see what he was seeing and he could see my side. 

We both were focused on the man in the middle of the room, he was fiddling with a robot, that I could hear Mikey squealing about. I swear I could hear the sound even when I know he is not there. I shook my head, though knowing that Mikey will always be on my mind. After 10 years of raising the turtle I felt like I couldn't ever shake him from my mind. 

I looked up to where Mikey was and see he was still focused on Stockman, his blue eyes hard like diamonds. I smiled, he always gets so serious in fights like this. I turned my eyes back to the man and waited, this was the night that Mikey and I had decided that his life ended. I gave the nod when his back was turned to him and he pulled his gun from his hip. He closed one eye and trained the barrel on the man. The shot echoed around the room and the bright light from the laser bullet blinded me for just a moment and when I looked back the man was still standing, a robot was on the floor the head had a gapping hole. I looked shocked to Mikey and who looked just as shocked as I did. How did that robot get there it wasn't there before Mikey shot. 

I heard Mikey curse and replace his gun, I stood from my place as the man turned to us. He had a manic grin on his face, and a crazed look in his eyes. I stopped Mikey from getting closer and made sure he was behind me. This man is crazy and not fully in his mind. 

"Don't Mikey he is not there fully in his head," I said I watched the man grab a canister and his manic laugh echoed around the chamber. I tensed, ready for the attack. 

"Oh you tried to kill me, well I learned a lot on what to expect from a killer. I've heard a lot about you, the turtles that take in the misfit and killing who they have seen as troublesome. I guess I am in the troublesome category. I'm so happy to be, hehehe, well I'm not going down that easily." He raised the canister and sprayed us with a red mist, I curled around Mikey to protect him from it. 

"That spray is nanites that are a homing beacon for my M.O.U.S.E.R.S to always find you. Let's see haw long it takes you to shut them down, I have thousands of M.O.U.S.E.R.S. More then enough to get rid of you." 

I looked to Mikey who was frantic on his gauntlet and text zoomed across his visor the blue text going so fast that I could not follow it. If there was anybody that could fix this it would be Mikey. But we couldn't just stand here, we needed to move. I pressed a few buttons on my own gauntlet and then another code, the first to call my motor bike. We could ride and Mikey could work on his code. The second for my knives, I twisted them in my hands and raised them to fight the robots until the bike got here. 

I kept in front of my brother making sure the robots couldn't get to him. My knives sliced through the metal like butter mainly because my blades were thermal radiated. Mikey figured it could help with getting out of trouble. He was correct, like always, I grinned with sharp teeth at the man who saw me taking down his robots with ease, with no help from my brother. 

The bot's bodies surrounded Mikey and I as I sliced and diced them, some wires were sparking and a fire started when a spark ignited a puddle of oil that was next to it. Great I grabbed Mikey's arm and dragged him out of the building and to the motor bike that just pulled up. I climbed on and he followed soon after wrapping his legs around me so he could keep working. 

I drove down the road most of the bots were destroyed in the fire, but some still followed us. I could see Stockman still in the building trapped by a pillar that had fallen. At least if nothing else he was gone. I drove us around trying to out run the bots some had tried to bite my feet and I was able to dodge. 

"Yes! I got it!" Mikey exclaimed, the bots slow and come to a stop. I stopped the bike and turned back to the bots. Mikey had already jumped off and ran to them, he grabbed two of them and gave me the puppy dog eyes. I sighed and nodded he cheered and took them apart and put them into his Shell Pack. An explosion from the building down the way made us get back on the bike and leave. We stopped by the Purple Dragons hideout to check on our friends, and maybe our brothers if their still there. 

The building came into view the van the two mutants had taken, I parked the bike next to the van and with Mikey snuck into the building seeing our brothers and friends tied to the wall had my blood boiling. I heard Mikey's growling and nodded, we split and slipped into the shadows, keeping out of the sight of the enemy. I stopped next to Leo and Donnie while Mikey was next to Darcy and Jakob. 

"Wait Bradford is here, he got mutated into a giant dog, be careful, please," Leo pleaded, he looked around the large room his eyes wide, he had a bruise on his temple. I looked to Donnie who had a wound oozing blood, it was on his arm, and his eyes were closed. I don't think he was awake. 

"They knocked him out when he wouldn't stop taunting them, I tried to protect him, but I couldn't I failed," Leo said sobbed he had tears in his eyes, he was shaking. I got the bindings undone, and helped him down. I started on Donnie as Darcy came over her golden fur was tinged in red on her leg and lower arm. Mikey was working on Jakob, the kid was shaking slightly. He's an amazing fighter and will fight if the need calls for it, but he's a pacifist at heart. He wasn't injured, so he was caught unaware, and if Leo is to believed, dubious, the dog caught the cat. 

As soon as Jakob was on the ground he crumbled, Mikey caught him and put his arm around his shell. 

"Well, well, looks like the other turtles came to help their friends. I told you taking in strays would lead to your death," a voice said behind us, Mikey stiffened bringing Jakob behind him shielding him. Darcy growled her dual colored eyes narrowed, Leo had Donnie in his arms and he stiffened. I could smell his fear, he wasn't confident in getting out. I pulled my knives from my Pack, and spinning them.

"Darcy, go right, I'll go left, we need to protect them," I said taking charge of my friend. She nodded and ran over her claws out and attacking the dog who was far larger. He was bigger then before, how did he get so good at moving with the extra weight? I jumped on his back, and sliced down his arm that was raised. I leapt back the blood gushed from the dog's arm and he howled. I looked to Mikey who was guiding the others out of the warehouse, and to the van. Jakob slung over his shell, Donnie was being carried bridle style by Leo. He looked back his dark blue eyes were wide and filled with tears. 

I looked back to Bradford, who was lumbering towards Darcy, I jumped on him and stabbed a knife into his shoulder. I was shook off and landed harshly on the ground the breath knocked from my lungs. Leo jumped over me and slammed his sword into the dog's other arm and he fell to the ground, blood pooling around the mutant and rushing to our feet. I grabbed Leo and waved for Darcy to follow. I dragged my older brother out of the building and shoved him into the van. Darcy got in the driver's seat and zoomed off. Mikey was taking my bike back home, I sat on the floor as Donnie had taken the bench, he was still out, they must have used a sedative. I hope Bradford is gone for good this time, he just got a lot more dangerous with this mutation.

I looked to Leo who was hovering over Donnie, and frowned, would he be like this if Mikey and I had stayed. I smiled, he would have, if Splinter hadn't hurt Mikey, we would have grown up with the mother hen of an older brother. I would have liked that. I closed my eyes and slipped into the darkness, my head hurt and I just needed sleep. I should know I'm the medic. 

Chapter Text

MIKEY

I was flying through the air on my hover board the night air cooling my scales. I closed my eyes and relaxed, the past few weeks has been eventful and I needed to relax. Flying around has always calmed me, I pulled a flip and flew upside down for awhile. I smiled and righted myself as I landed outside the warehouse that our gang hangs out. 

I put my hand on the scanner and entered the building. I stepped into the main room that was filled with both mutant and human members. They were all intermingling some talking in hushed tones with smaller children sleeping next to them. They looked up and waved at me. I waved back smiling when they waved me over. 

I stepped towards them, they scooted around and made room for me to sit down.

“Oh I won't be able to stay long I have a session with Timothy,” I said and they nodded.

“Well in a hurry we were discussing on making a room for the kids to play in and the toys that they would need to play. We will be willing to watch them while they are in there in shifts.“ 

I nodded along with them, when they finished I thought about it.

“I don't see why not if you need any money use the cards we gave you,” I said smiling and walking away waving at them. They agreed and went back to talking softly with each other.

There was a group of teenagers that were playing a make believe game with some little kids they were all mutants a wildcat, he is short with a thick tail. His dual colored eyes were a light with laughter. Next to him was a tiger mutant she was taller then him despite being a year younger she had fur long enough to act like hair and it was pulled up into pigtails. Her red eyes were trained on the teenagers.

On the opposite side was a chameleon mutant with olive green scales and dual colored eyes, one is red and the other is lime green. He was holding a stuffed bear and was hanging off Darcy's arm her dual colored eyes watching to make sure the young reptile wouldn't fall. 

The last little kid was an alpaca mutant with really soft white fur and dark blue eyes. He was playing with Jakob who was chasing him around. They were both laughing. 

I passed by ruffling Penelope's fur on my way past and she grinned up at me her two colored eyes glowing. I smiled back and continued on my way past. 

I slipped into a hallway that led to the hospital side of the ware house, there were the medics like Hallie the dormouse, Oshart the addax, Colette the opossum. Those three were the ones under Raph trained to be a field medic. Others had an office and helped with the teens or the little kids that needed help. Then another hall way for the therapists to have an office. Each had a name on the door as I passed them

Baxter Cooper, a blue crab mutant, Shiloh Raymond, another blue crab mutant, Larry Clark, an ocelot mutant, then the human therapists Jeff Morse, Dennis Cherry, then finally Timothy Pepper. He was the one to take my case and Jess's.

I knocked on the door and it opened to a tall man with chocolate brown hair and dark brown eyes. He smiled and made room for me to go through the door. 

“Good evening Michelangelo, come in your right on time,” he said opening a folder on his desk and sat down. I rolled my eyes I was always on time for my session, if I didn't Timothy would hound me for days.

“Of course Timothy, I know better then to be late,” I said sitting in the really plush couch, sinking into the soft fuzzy material. I curled up on the couch and settled down relaxing into the plush seat. 

“Alright Michelangelo, let's go over what has happened since meeting back up with your brothers,” he said going to a blank page I nodded and started talking. 

An hour later I was on my way back home, I was in my own world not realizing that I was being watched. I landed at the man hole cover and slipped under ground.  

The walk home was uneventful just me and my music playing in my visor. The tunnel was damp and some water was dripping off the ceiling. I stopped at the pond and made sure that no one was around. I slipped under water and swam towards the other side and popped out of the water. 

Going in I stopped at the white square that lines the entrance, it turned on and blew warm air to dry my scales. Once it turned off I stepped into the main room of The Cavern. The dark interior felt so relaxing to me and I sat down on the dark colored couch and turned on the TV. 

I turned it to Pokemon and fell asleep watching it. 

TWO DAYS LATER

I was once again on the couch curled up with Raph and Leatherhead next to me resting his head on my shell. We had decided to watch the news to make sure that non of our people have been caught.

I was laying behind Raph drapping over his shell and I was held down by Leatherhead. I was dozing quietly and nearly slipped into a comfortable sleep when I heard Raph curse loudly.

I shot up fear coursing through my veins and freezing them. Leatherhead held me to his chest pulling me away from Raph. Who was standing and glaring at the TV. 

“What happened Raph?“ I asked standing up from Leatherhead's lap. 

“Someone recorded you, they recorded you flying on your board. Then they leaked it to the news.“

I looked to the TV to see a video of me it was grainy and blurry from shoddy camera handling, but you could clearly see it was me. I recognized that night it was from I was on my way back from therapy. 

“What can we do about this?“ I asked sitting back on Leatherhead's lap, he wrapped his arms around me and settled his tail across my lap. 

“I don't know yet, but let's lay low for a while and see if this goes away,” Raph said and I nodded I do have a lot of projects and updates I need to do and can get them done while we lay low. 

“Oh we are gonna have to stock up on meat and other cold stuff and my spices before hand we can go out tonight and get it then lay low for a couple weeks,” I said bouncing in place my energy becoming to much.

“I can help as well, I'll carry down what you need me to,” Leatherhead said nuzzling my cheek. I smiled and nuzzled him back.

So after grabbing our bags and coming out of the pond, we left to go topside and gather our supplies each of us had a list of what we were needing.

I typed into my guantlet and made a call with Jess.

“Hey Mikey how's it going?“ She asked her long hair was pulled into a pony tail and she was in the warehouse.

“Raph and I were watching the news to make sure none of our people made it on there when we found out someone had recorded me and leaked it to the news. We are gonna have to lay low for a while after gathering some supplies.“ 

“Oh dang that's rough, well let me or Jake know if you need anything, we can at least blend in with people so don't hesitate to call.“ 

I nodded and agreed before hanging up, before we could make it topside Leo and Donnie came running around the corner. They came to a screeching halt, a wild look in their eyes. I jumped a bit from their abrupt entrance. 

“Sorry about that, but we don't have time to stop we need to find Master Splinter,” Leo said continuing down the tunnel. Donnie was right behind him, he looked back at us a sorry mouthed by him.

“Well that was weird, welp let's go,” I said climbing out of the sewers and going to the store that I need, Leatherhead and Raph following me. 

It was a few weeks later we learned what happened to Splinter. I thought it was hilarious, Leo did not. Oh well not every one can have my sense of humor.

DONNIE

I was in my lab working on a new bo staff, the one I have now is filled with Metal, and I decided to just make a new one that is completely metal. It has a hidden blade inside and can be shrank down, so no more having to accommodate for the long stick on my shell. It will hang on my belt in easy reach.

I just got done putting it together when I heard a scream from Leo. I ran out of my lab to see Splinter attacking my older brother. 

I jumped in and used my new metal staff, I beat Splinter away from my brother who was frozen. I stepped back to him and he stood, he rested a hand on my shell and we watched our father run out of the lair his red eyes glowing and wild. The fact he was running on all fours scaring me. 

I looked to Leo who had wide eyes looking at me as well. He narrowed his eyes and I nodded. We ran out of the lair hot on our father's heels. 

We ran down the tunnels blindly, not noticing we were getting close to where Mikey and Raph lives. We turned a corner and almost knocked over Raph and Mikey. I stepped back when I saw the hulking form of Leatherhead. He still scared me, and he was glaring at me with his yellow-green eyes. 

“Sorry about that, but we don't have time to stop we need to find Master Splinter,” Leo yelled while running away, I mouthed a sorry to Mikey who looked back and he smiled at me. I ran after Leo and found Master Splinter in a cavern like area with a tall man covered in bandages. I saw one red eye and a white rat sitting on his shoulder. 

“Master Splinter please we are your children,” Leo said his voice heavy with sadness. I looked at my father and saw his eyes move over us, I didn't see any reconnection in them. It made my blood run cold, was this what Mikey had felt when our father abandoned him? When our father had pushed him to the ground and he didn't do anything when he got hurt? I shook my head and narrowed my eyes. Splinter attacked and I extended my staff and used it to push the man away from my brother. He went to fight the other man while I fought my father.

I twisted my staff and the weighted end fell along with a chain. I swung it and caught Splinters shoulder. He skidded and sprung into the air. I used my staff to block his teeth from trying to bite me. 

I twisted the staff around and hit him in the head, he crumpled to the ground a pained gasp leaving his mouth. I stood and waited, I didn't like him right now but I didn't want to hurt him. I looked at Leo and saw him take the rat off the man's shoulder and toss it away. The rat hit the wall with a squeak and didn't move again. 

Sinter stood his normal eyes falling onto me, I tensed ready to fight again. 

“Don't worry Donatello I am myself once more,” he said his head turning to glare at the man that had controlled him. The man studdered and ran away, he scooped up the white rat as he went. 

I flinched a bit when I felt Splinter's hand on my shoulder and looked up at him. He smiled softly and tugged me into a hug. I let him, but I didn't hug him back. I believe I felt how Mikey did before he ran away. He had felt small and unnoticed by the one person that should have been there for him. 

I slipped away from Splinter and made it back to the tunnel that Raph and Mikey live by. This tunnel is the one we meet in all the time, I saw Mikey coming down the tunnel a puzzled look on his face.

“I wanted to say that I might run away as well, I love Leo he is my brother the one who knows better then anyone, but I can't stay with Splinter anymore. He had got taken control of and attacked me. The way I felt when he did that and how helpless you must of felt when he did the same to you, without being controlled. I can't do it anymore, what can I do?“ I crumpled to the ground my hands over my face. 

“Come and stay with Raph and I see if that works for you. You can still visit Leo in the lair, but you can not tell him where we live.“

I thought about it and nodded, I would do that, I can't stay with my father who hasn't even apologized for what he did to Mikey.

I stood and walked away to pack a few things and to tell Leo of my plan. He would be the only one told.

Chapter Text

DONNIE

"I'm sorry Leo, but I have to do this. He still hasn't apologized for what he did to Mikey as a kid, and while he was mind controlled, he didn't apologize for attacking us. He is strong, strong enough to fight the mind control. I know he is because he constantly tells us that in order to be strong of body, you need to be strong of mind and spirit. So yes I am leaving Leo, because he holds no fault in his mind, if he can't see that he did something horrible, then he doesn't need to be raising kids." 

"Donnie please don't leave me!" Leo begged, his eyes watering with tears. 

"I'm sorry Leo, I love you, your my big brother, but I can't stay here with him," I said. I turned back to the bag I was packing and zipped it closed. 

"Will I ever see you again?" Leo asked in a whisper fear in his voice.

"Of course Leo, I will come and visit you, I will still be here for you no matter what, but I can't be here with him." I said hugging Leo, before walking out of my room. 

"I left notes on how to run the power, water, and security," I said and with one last hug I left the lair. I met with Mikey in the same tunnel we had always met up in. He smiled and motioned for me to follow him. I did with one last look behind me wishing Leo would be coming with me, but knowing he wasn't put of Splinter's hold. 

MIKEY

"So there are a few rules we need you to follow," I said walking next to Donnie.

"Of course, Mikey," he said. He was nervous, I could tell I smiled and motioned for him to sit on the floor with me. 

"Right, you are not to tell anyone where Raph and I live. Only Leatherhead, Jake, and Jess, know where we live. Raph and I don't really get take out, I cook every meal. I also have two pets, a cat named Marshmello and a very old rabbit named Chocolate. Raph still has Spike, you are not to stop them from doing their thing, Marshmello likes to leave the Cavern and explore, she always comes back. We have a lab and garage, you are will have your own section, you can block off your section, or not that depends on you. Lastly I have a room just for the security system, and a room that is a greenhouse." 

"Got it, I won't make a mess or do anything to make you and Raph angry," he said determination in his voice. 

"You can't make that promise, even Raph and I get on each other's nerves. There is never a perfect relationship with anybody. There will be an adjustment period, but we won't kick you out for it. As long as you don't reveal our home, and you let me handle the cooking and don't be negative with our way of doing anything. If you have a problem talk to us we will listen to you." 

Donnie nodded and smiled softly, I patted his shoulder and stood up. I led him to The Pond.

"Alright this is only one entrance into the Cavern. This is called The Pond, and why I told you to pack everything in waterproof bags. Let's go." I slipped into the water sinking to the bottom. I waited for Donnie to come down and once he did we same to the other side. Popping out onto a platform. I pressed a button and warm air blew around Donnie and I. 

I heard Donnie gasp and flinch at the air, but relax when it doesn't seem to hurt him. I chuckled and followed him inside.

"I hate water being dragged into the Cavern, so if you come in through there please dry off before coming in."

He nodded and looked around.

THIRD PERSON 

Donnie walked around the large living room seeing the dark wood and dark brown couch. The dark red rug under it, four doors leading to separate rooms. A large arch led into the kitchen it was cozy and a pale yellow color, with accents of a bright red. A giant bird in flight was silhouetted on the wall above the stove. 

"Hey Mikey, what is the bird?" Donnie asked.

"Oh it's the logo for mine and Raph's gang," he said so nonchalantly like it was obvious. Donnie looked wide eyed at his little brother. 

"Your's and Raph's what?" He asked.

"Yeah Raph and I have a gang, Jake and Jess are very high up in the gang, being like co-runners. Raph and I have a meeting with all the members once a month, but I go to the warehouse that we all gather in all the time, seeing as I have a therapist that I see every two weeks. Speaking of which I want you to see which therapist we have in the gang that you will be going to. You will be going to therapy."

Donnie nodded and went to set his bags down on the couch. 

"So where am I sleeping?" He asked looking around the dark, but cozy room. 

"Oh over this way," Mikey said leading to a door he opened it and went down a hall. He opened another door, and let Donnie go in before him. 

DONNIE

I stepped into a room that was a deep purple color with a very soft looking bed, a desk at set at the foot of the bed, a tv in the corner on a wheeled table. The computer set on the desk looked brand new. The floor was a dark wood, a rug under the bed. The purple comforter looked warm, and the pile of pillows would make a wonderful nest. 

"Thank you Mikey, this means a lot to me," I said wanting to hug him but knowing we weren't there yet.

"No problem, go ahead and unpack, then we have a lot of things we need to do." He said waving as he left. 

"Oh okay!" I yelled out after him. I opened the bag I had and set my more sentimental items, my t-phone set on the desk and plugged in. I powered the computer and saw it was ready for me to set up. 

After setting my things in their place, I left the room and walked back to the living room. Or so I thought, I opened the door to see a vibrant orange room with flame designs on the walls. A giant bird in flight silhouette behind the bed. The room was filled to the brim with tech and the floor was a complete carpet. It was fuzzy and soft. 

I backed up and closed the door, it made me curious if Raph's room was just as cozy. I finally found the living room, Raph and Mikey we're in there Mikey running from Raph laughing so care free. Raph was laughing as well and tried to snatch Mikey. I giggled covering my mouth. Mikey looked at me and smiled big, he turned on his heel and tackled me. 

"Hide me Donnie he is trying to get me!" Mikey laughed and ducked behind me. I stood stock still, not sure what to do. 

"Donnie you better move, or you'll be in the cross fire of this game of tag," Raph threatened. That did it I straightened my body and spread my legs further. I was ready for anything. Raph smirked and rushed me, I grabbed his arm and flung him, gently, away from Mikey, who giggled, and made sure to cover Mikey. 

This went on for a few hours till we all fell to the floor breaths heaving and still giggling slightly. Mikey stood and stretched his arms above his head.

"Let's get Donnie into the system," he said going to the couch. He tapped the floor twice, then stepped back. What was happening?

The floor opened in a circle stairs appearing in a spiral, I gasped seeing this. Mikey walked down with Raph following. I followed Raph down and saw the biggest lab and garage ever. The room was open with a row of tables separating it. One side was the most advanced tech ever, Mikey went over there and grabbed a bag. Raph climbed into a teched out motor home. Mikey followed him and I climbed in. The interior was dark with accents of red and orange, it was like a flame. I sat down, while Mikey and Raph say up front. 

We stopped at the ware house and Mikey climbed out the bag he had grabbed slung into his shoulder. I followed the two into the warehouse. I was expecting it to be dark, and dreary, but it wasn't. It was lively, several mutant kids ran across our path, they stopped to wave at Mikey and Raph before running off. Mikey smiled and waved back, he walked up to a group of adults, who stopped what they were doing and listened to what he said. 

Raph continued further and stopped at a table with twins the male was stern looking his head shaved with the other side falling over his face. The brown strands almost hiding his green eyes. The girl looked exactly like her brother, her hair was long and her green eyes were on full display. Their hoodies had the same bird in flight as my brother's home. There was also a sunset on the pockets. I looked around the warehouse seeing the bright colors, and the soft couches and chairs. Mikey walked over the group of mutants and humans following him. 

"Donnie they are all our therapists, I would like to see which one you would be most comfortable with. Before that though I want you to follow me please." He said as he walked away I followed him with the group following us. 

"What are we doing Mikey?" I asked a little nervous. 

"I'm going to enter you into the system, don't worry, you'll be fine," he said typing something into his gauntlet. He walked into a large room, my eyes sparkled seeing all the high gear tech computers inside. Mikey walked over to a computer and typed fast over the keyboard. 

"Okay I need you to put your hand on the scanner there," Mikey said pointing to a box on the wall. I did so and felt a small prick to my hand. Mikey nodded and I removed my hand. 

"All right now I have a few things for you. One a visor, two a giant let, and three a shell pack. The shell pack is a bit tricky to attach and I need a team of medics for it, so I'll hold onto that for now. I was going to make some weapons for you, but figured you would like to do that since you like making weapons."

He was rambling it was cute, it was like he was nervous about something. I smiled and hugged him, he startled and didn't hug back. I didn't expect him to. 

"That sounds amazing Mikey, thank you." I said.

ONE WEEK LATER

I now know why Mikey was nervous about the shell pack, didn't know they had magnets surgically implanted into their shells. They asked if it's okay to do the same to me, and after thinking about it, I agreed knowing it would come in handy like it did for the two. So now I have magnets in my shell and a shell pack that will give me all my weapons. 

I now have a therapist, an ocelot mutant named Larry. He was a bit forceful, but he was perfect for my needs. So I was scheduled to see him once a week then it would be reduced. I had met with Leo as well and he was happy for me, but I knew he was sad that I didn't live with him and Splinter anymore. I reassured him that he is still my brother, but I couldn't be with Splinter, and if he opened his eyes to the truth he would see it as well. 

He argued with me, and I had to shut the conversation down. 

"Leo I know you can be dense when you want to, but even have to see that what Splinter did when we were young was wrong. He abused his youngest son to the point of running away. He attacked me, yes he was brainwashed, it's your favorite excuse. But he wasn't brainwashed when he abused Mikey what's the excuse there?"

That had stumped him and he walked away in a huff. I sighed and walked back to the Cavern, he needed to learn that Splinter was bad or he would be left behind. I pulled the visor down on my metal headband. I had a call from Mikey.

"Hey Donnie, are you okay? I was checking the security cameras, all of them, and saw you and Leo arguing."

"Yeah, he was just upset that I had left him, but I don't trust him to tell him where you two live. He would go straight to Splinter with that info."

LEO

I was upset, first Mikey and Raph run away and disappear for ten years, and now they had taken Donnie from me. I thought Donnie was on my side, bring our brothers back to the lair to be one big happy family. Now he is going on about how Splinter had abused Mikey. I know he did, but he was sorry for it even if he didn't say it. 

I remember talking to him when Donnie was locked in his lab.

FLASHBACK

"Master Splinter, can I ask you something?" I asked sitting down.

"Of course my son, what is on your mind?" He asked.

"I need to know, how do you feel about how treated Mikey when he was younger?" I asked trying to avoid saying he had abused Mikey. He didn't like hearing that, he would get angry and yell and act like he was going to hurt me.

"I am deeply regretful of my actions. I had hurt him, I thought I was making him tougher, but he didn't need that he needed a father that would listen. If I could go back I would change it, but I can't and he no longer needs me."

"Right, thank you Master Splinter," I said standing before I said something that would make him hit me with his walking stick. 

END FLASHBACK

So he was sorry, he just doesn't like to admit he was wrong and needs to apologize. I just need to get my brothers to see that. They are the ones in the wrong, not me, they just need to see that Master Splinter was just as flawed as us and needed a second chance. I hope I can do that, I stood when a girl stepped out of the shadows. She was slim and had black hair with an undertone of blond. Her gold eyes glinted in the street lights. While she was pretty, she wasn't as beautiful as Jessica is. 

"Hello, what is a freaky turtle creature doing out here all alone?" She asked her golden eyes hardening with unrestrained anger. I tensed as she rushed me her tanto out and ready to attack. I dodged and pressed a button on my t-phone hoping Donnie would still help me in a fight. I need him, he had always had my shell. 

The girl was a good fighter, her body flowing from one move to the next. She had been trained well, I dodged an attack, tripping her on her next attack. She flipped to steady herself, before she could attack, a gunshot sounded and she was fleeing. I looked behind me to see Mikey, Raph, and Donnie. 

"Leo are you okay?" Donnie asked looking me over. I hugged him silently thanking him for being there. 

"I'll always be there for you Leo, I love you," he said his brown-red eyes soft and like molten chocolate. 

"I love you to Donnie," I said nuzzling his neck hugging him once more.

Chapter Text

CHAOTER 15

DONNIE

"Hey Mikey, I was wondering if April could know where the Cavern is?" I asked a little nervously. 

"No sorry Donnie, but Raph and I do not trust her yet. Jake, Jess, and Leatherhead knew where this place was way before you so they don't count, but if we wanted to add another, then you would have a say in this. For April, who I don't know well yet, you can meet with her close by here." Mikey said sitting in his computer chair in the security room. 

I looked down thinking on his words, and nodded, he had a good point. I loved he explained why there was no to something, Splinter and Leo both would just say no, Mikey and Raph both explained their no.

"Why do you explain when you say no?" I asked sitting in a chair.

Mikey looked up a soft smile on his face.

"Back when Raph and I first ran away, I would have serious panic attacks. It would happen after Raph would say no with no warning or explanation. Raph realized it first and started to explain his reasons for saying no, it helped with letting me know that he was just trying to protect me. I started doing the same thing and it just became an automatic response if I say no. After getting a therapist and telling him about it, he said it was a healthy way of communicating and just continue doing it." 

I nodded frowning remembering that I would just yell at Mikey to go away and not explaining why I didn't want him there. I stood and went to my room, and sat on the bed. I laid down and thought back to why I would yell at Mikey like that. 

I know now that I had lashed out at him because I was jealous of the attention Raph gave him. Now I know it was because of the abuse that Mikey had endured by Splinter, Leo, and I. He had tried to give Mikey as much attention as he could so Mikey could be happy. 

I sighed and pulled out my phone, and texted April that she couldn't come to where I am, but I will meet her somewhere else. 

I sat up and got ready, and left the Cavern saying bye to Mikey. He absentmindedly waved as he fiddled with a small project. I swam through the Pond and continued down the tunnel. My mask was no longer on my face, the visor covering my eyes instead. The world tinged in purple was a bit weird, but I didn't mind, it was something that Mikey made me. It was a symbol that Mikey liked me and wanted me around. 

I met up with April who was a bit upset. I greeted her warmly and she just huffed.

"Why did you leave the lair?" She asked angrily. I balked at that confused. 

"Because my father attacked me and didn't apologize, because my father abused my little brother to the point of him and Raph running away," I said confusion lacing my voice.

"Well why can't I know where you are now?" She asked turning away from me her arms crossed.

"Because Mikey and and Raph don't trust you, what's with all the questions?" I asked walking so I was facing her again. 

"Why don't they trust me?! They don't even know me!" She yelled making me jump. Why would she be acting like this?

"April it's because they don't know you, they don't trust people they don't know. Only three people in their group even know where they live. It's their close friends. I don't have full control of their home, I'm new to living there and not the only one to make decisions. It's a group effort, not just one person making the decision." 

"Well take me to them, let me introduce myself to them properly, so that I can know where they live. It's not like I'm gonna say anything." 

"No April, while I like you and know a little about you, they don't work that way. They have entire group of friends and acquaintances that don't know where they live. The only reason I live with them is because I'm their brother and I'm working on our relationship. I'm not going to break their trust to to make you happy. If that is what you want then you can go back to your house and leave me alone!" I said shocked that the girl that I had been crushing on would turn out like this. I thought she was sweet and kind, but this was becoming way to much for me. 

"Wait no Donnie I'm sorry, I'm not trying to ruin your relationship with your brothers. Please your one of my only friends, I'm not really sure how to act with people. Others at school have been making fun of me and I'm taking it out on you. I'm sorry." 

I was sceptical, but I could understand being made fun of. Growing up, Splinter would continually tell me that with how I looked that humans would not accept me. Looking back, his abuse was much more subtle towards Leo and I so that we couldn't detect it. I nodded and accepted her apology. 

"Let's go somewhere else to do your homework, okay?" I asked and she nodded. We walked away and went down the tunnels finding a good alcove that would work. We spent a good few hours working.

MIKEY

I smiled watching the cameras proud of Donnie. I stood from the computer and walked down to the lab. I saw Raph working on the Scorpion. I went to my desk and turned on my music play, watching it for a minute, after the fire incident I had been making sure it wouldn't happen again. Not seeing anything different I went to work on a new pistol for myself, Raph, and Donnie. While Raph doesn't use guns, he will carry one just in case. I had a new idea for one and wanted to start working as soon as possible. 

I was just finishing my pistol when an alert lit up my visor. The purple color letting me know it is Donnie in trouble. I stood up, knocking the chair I was in over, Raph had also stood and opened the door to the Demon. I climbed in and sat in the front seat. Raph sat next to me in the driver seat he turned it on and drove out into the tunnel that led to the surface. I called Donnie while Raph drove, he answered appearing on my and Raph's visor. 

"Donnie what's going on?" I asked seeing Donnie on the other end of the call, he looked panicked and was running.

"I was helping April with her homework, when she got a call from her school to come by as there was something wrong. She encouraged me to leave and I did, why did I listen? Any way she texted me in a panic and said that she was being attacked. I called you to help me. I know you don't know April, but she is important to me and thought you could help."

"Slow down Donnie, of course we'll help, we might not know April well, but like you said, she is important to you and therefore under our protection. That means she has a tail on her at all times, they will jump in if she is in extreme danger. She is okay, I promise."

Donnie took a deep breath and nodded. Then he raised a brow. 

"Wait does that mean I have one?" He asked coming to a stop and I got his coordinates so we could pick him up. 

"Yes, because we worry while you are out alone," I said looking through my notes to give names of their tails if they wish to know them. 

"How many people do you have watching me and April?" Donnie asked I saw him turn since we had just pulled up to him. 

"You have two each. Not at the same time, but in shifts," I said leaning back into my chair watching him climb inside the vehicle. 

"Ah okay, well we'll talk about that after we save April," Donnie said sitting at a table in the middle of the RV. I looked to Raph confused, did we do something wrong. 

"Nah, Mikey, we didn't do anything wrong," he said and I calmed and grinned at him. 

We drove to April's school and saw Oshert, an Addax mutant, his long spiral horns glinting in the street light. He was assigned to April, since he was a medic and would be able to help her. His white fur shone in the dull lights, but he was a fighter and could protect April if he needed to. He was the perfect match with Darnel a lemur mutant who looked slim and fragile, but was actually a good fighter. 

"Hey Oshert, where's April?" I asked. He nodded towards the school with his muzzle. 

"She's in the school, don't worry the Kraang droid won't be hurting her anymore. It is in pieces," he said his voice deep and unemotional. He nodded to Donnie and left over the rooftops. I waved for my brothers to follow me and they did. I walked into the school and crept through the shadows, I found April in the gym. She looked shocked and was muttering to herself. 

"April!" Donnie called out rushing her and hugged her. She hugged Donnie calling his name as well. She burst into tears and clung to him. I looked to Raph and he nodded. I agreed and walked up to the two. 

"Hey April, we've met once before." Here she looked up and nodded. "I want to extend an invitation to our home, you seem to care for Donnie, a lot. I just want you to promise that you will not reveal this information to anybody."

"I promise," she sobbed out still clinging to Donnie. 

"Good, Donnie will guide you to it the next time you want to visit, he will also take you home once you calm down." I said and walked back to Raph who slung an arm over my shoulders and dragged me out of the school and back to the demon. I laughed and pushed him running to the vehicle. We spent a good few hours playing tag.

LEO 

I stared at myself in the mirror, my mask tied in a bow. I had been feeling something in me for a long time. I was just to scared to find out what it was. I hated being called by my name, though Lee seemed okayish. I didn't understand what was going on and I needed someone to talk to. 

I flinched when my room door flung open and my father stood there a hard look in his eyes. He glared at the bow and nashed his teeth. Ever since Donnie left he had been angry and taking it out on me. I had several bruises from our training sessions, and he never once said anything. I'm scared and don't know what to do any more. I'm not strong enough to leave like my brothers, cause I know deep down that Splinter still loved us, he just has a hard time showing it. 

Splinter walked forward and snatched my mask.

"No son of mine will be that feminine, you will not get this back until I know that you have learned your lesson." 

Tears filled my eyes and slipped down my cheeks. Why was he like this? What did we do wrong to deserve his anger and abuse? I wasn't I strong enough to leave?

Chapter Text

LEO

I stumbled in the alleys of the city, I needed to escape my home. I had a small bag on my hip with only a few of my belongings. My feet skipped under me, making me trip and fall to the ground, my head hitting the ground. My world turned fuzzy and my eyes slipped closed. All I remember is seeing the girl with long brown hair and a bright red-orange before my world turned dark and I knew no more. 

MIKEY

I was sitting in the living room of my home, Raph and Leatherhead on either side of me, Raph was lying on the couch, I was on top of his shell my head propped on a pillow as my hands fidgeted with a fidget toy. Leatherhead was lying on top of me his head resting on my shell, his tail curled around me. 

The TV was on with a pokemon episode we were just resting and lazing about. I was half way between dozing and awakefulness. Just soaking up each other's warmth.  

I noticed Jess coming into the Cavern, her face filled with worry.

"Hey guys I found Leo in an alley way, he was passed out and very thin. I had Slash take him to the medbay at the base. He didn't look good guys, he was so thin and dirty as well. Something happened to him and he was finally able to escape." 

I sat up with Leatherhead and Raph, I looked to Raph who nodded. We stood up and ran down to the garage, Leatherhead and Jess following. Donnie was down there as well, and after explaining what happened we all piled into the Demon. I sat up front with Raph driving, Donnie standing between the chairs his worried gaze fixed on the road. Jess and Leatherhead were in the back, sitting at a table with computers and other devices set on it. We drove like crazy to get to the medbay at the warehouse our base was set in. 

After parking, carelessly, we ran out of the vehicle and into the warehouse. We stopped at the door with Leo's name on it, inside were two doctors Hallie a dormouse mutant, her red eyes on a clipboard and Collet, an opossum mutant her fur styled to hide her face, and died to be like makeup. 

They looked up as we walked in their bodies instantly straightened and they bowed their heads in greeting. Raph went to the two medics and walked back out the room to get the details on Leo's condition. I walked up to my big brother, his shell was cracked, his plastron split down the center, wounds covering his arms and legs. His mask was missing, and he was so thin, his arms had become so small. This had been going on for a while. How could Splinter do this? Didn't he care about any of them?

I looked up to Donnie he looked so shocked and fearful. He couldn't even bring himself to touch Leo. 

DONNIE

As I entered the medbay room, I beelined to Leo's side. He was hurt, how could I have let this happen? Why didn't I force him to come with me when I left? Why did I leave him alone with someone who I knew could hurt his kids? 

I felt tears well up in my eyes and the dripped down my face. I sat down in a chair and curled up so bing into my knees. I did this, I didn't make him leave. He was hurt because of me. I had been staying with Mikey and Raph for weeks and I hadn't seen Leo since saving him the last time. He hadn't been out of the lair. I should have gone to check on him. I should have done something. 

I felt a hand on my shoulder and I looked up to see a blurry figure of Mikey. He opened his arms and I welcomed the hug. I sobbed my heart out into the arms of my little brother. The door opened again and Raph joined us, the doctors not joining us. 

He walked up to us and sat in another chair his green eyes distant and confused.

"Donnie what was Splinterime when Mikey and I left?" I looked back to him from Leo's prone body. 

"Well, he didn't put right abuse us, it was more subtle, him telling me that I would scare any human I came across, that one look and they would ship me off to the government. He would praise me for making something to help the family, but scold me if I made something just for myself. He seemed apologetic about hurting Mikey, but he never said the words he was sorry. I'm not sure how he treated Leo, but anytime Leo spent alone time with Splinter he would be quiet and distant." 

"So he never put right hurt you?" He asked his eyes locked on the wounds covering Leo's scales.

"No he never hurt us, well not physically," I said also looking to Leo. That had gone out the window and it was my fault. If I had never left Leo would still be healthy and happy. 

"It's not your fault Don, you didn't hurt Leo, Splinter did. Don't blame yourself for getting out when you could." I looked to Mikey who had spoken with his hands gripping my shoulders squeezing them slightly. The tension drained from my shell and I relaxed into his arms once more. All we had to do now was wait for Leo to wake up. 

LEO

I opened my eyes expecting to be back in my room, the bare walls rising high and the ceiling so far away. But I was in a brightly lit room, the walls a bright gray, not blindingly white, but a soft gray that made it easier to look at. The bed I was on was soft and warm. I looked around to see my little brothers, all of them curled around each other asleep. I smiled seeing them happy and safe. I looked down at my body, I was covered in bandages, tubes, and wires. 

I shifted slightly and that got the attention of the one ninja in the pile. Donnie lifted his head off of Mikey's shell his chocolate brown eyes looking around confused. They landed on me and they widened. He tried to sit up, but Raph was lying on his shell making him unable to get up. 

The wiggling made the carefully piled turtles fall to the floor. The clattering was loud, and the sight would have made the most stoic man to burst into laughter. 

The sound of my laugh had reached the other twos ears and they looked up to see me awake. All three turtles climbed to their feet and rushed me. The all hugged me, being careful of the wires and tubes. 

I looked around at my little brothers. They had been so worried, that made me frown, they shouldn't have to be so worried about me. I looked down in shame and let go of them. 

My head was lifted up and made to look into Mikey's bright blue eyes. 

"Don't be like that, we worry, it's what brother's do," he said a smirk on his face, his eyes sharp with mirth, his tongue sticking out. He winked at me before pulling the other two off of me, Donnie did t go far laying on the bed and cuddling next to me, like we had done as small children. 

I didn't like being called a brother, but I didn't let it show, beyond a small flinch. 

Mikey looked at me curiously, his eyes wide with questions unanswered. Raph looked to Mikey then to me his eye ridge raised waiting for the unspoken question to be answered. Donnie knew, but he had been told that I was his brother, and nothing more. He cuddled closer, and whispered reassurance, promising it would be different here. 

"I don't like being called a brother, it doesn't feel right, being called any masculine term doesn't feel.....right," I said gripping the blanket that was drapped over me. 

Mikey looked to Raph who nodded and left, I watched wide eyed as Raph closed the door gently behind him. 

"Don't worry, we aren't angry or upset with your words....sis, Raph just went to get Jess she can help you a lot more with this feeling then we can. She had gone through something very similar."

I nodded, then froze, Jess was like me trapped in a body that didn't feel right, but she was so natural, the long hair and baggy clothes hid her untrue body from others. 

"Yeah Jess is trans male to female, she has been since she was a young teen. Or to her she had always been female, he body was just lying to her, so she fixed it. Her and Jake are actually identical twins." 

"Sure are, now who is feeling the dysphoria?" Jess asked as she walked into the room. Mikey pointed to me as I shyly raised my hand. "I see well. Do you wish to talk with or without your brothers, your choice, and don't worry, they won't feel rejected or unimportant if you decide with out them. They understand difficult and touchy subjects." 

I looked around and then down to Donnie. "I'm sorry Donnie, but can I talk to Jess alone?" I asked Donnie looked up and stared for a few seconds before he nodded and left with Mikey and Raph leaving Jess to sit in a chair. 

RAPH

I paced back and forth in the hall way of the medbay, Leo was in the room with Jess and they were talking about Leo being trans. Which isn't the first time this happened, but I never expected Leo to be the one to go through this. Didn't he already have enough on hi-her plate?

The door opened and Jess walked out her face was calm and serene.

"She is feeling better and prefers to be addressed as Leah, and she wants her brothers to be with her now." 

I watched Mikey thank Jess and give her a hug, I gave her a fist bump and walked back into the room. Donnie curled up in Leo-Leah's bed. Needed to get used to the new name. I didn't like changes, even when Jess transitioned it took me a while to get used to her new pronouns and name. She understood, and allowed me to go at my pace, correcting me if I didn't correct myself first. 

"So does anyone know how long I will be here?" Leah asked her dark blue eyes looking me and Mikey. 

"Dr. Hallie said you would need to be here for at least a week to keep on eye on your cracked plastron and how thin you were. She just wants to make sure you will be okay. While your here, we will be fixing up your room for the Cavern, any suggestions on how to decorate it?"

Leah looked at me shocked her eyes wide. 

"I get to stay with you guys?" He-She asked.

"Of course, I doubt your goin' back to Splinter." Here she flinched looking around like even the sound of his name would bring Splinter into the room. She frantically shook her head eyes wide.

"So you tell us how to decorate your room and we will do it, anything you want." Mikey said sitting at the foot of the bed. 

"I don't really know, I tried out some bows when I was alone in my room, but nothing else." 

"That's fine, we'll get you things to test out, if you don't like it, you don't have to keep it. I make sure your visor has plates to attach bows to it. I have so many ideas, come on Raph let's get started. I smiled as Mikey dragged me from the room. I looked back to wave at the two left on the bed. They smiled and waved back. 

Chapter Text

LEAH

I was sat in a modified RV, Mikey had dubbed it the demon, odd but okay. I was in the passenger chair with Raph driving, Mikey and Donnie talking quietly in the back heads bent together and eyes bright as they talked tech. I'm so happy Donnie has someone to talk tech speak with, I would always get so lost when he would get more technical then replacing a lightbulb. 

I looked over to my immediate younger brother, he was focused on the road, one hand on the wheel the other holding his head leaning on the window. His eyes were distant like he was trying to think through something.

I looked forward again, feeling a bit nervous, this would be the first time I got to see the Cavern, the home that Mikey and Raph painstakingly converted into their home. The RV moved so smoothly down the road, no bumps or jerks. 

I didn't like the silence between Raph and I. I looked to him again and his green eyes were laser focused on road. I looked down at my lap my fingers, my nails painted a soft pink color, fidgeting around each other. I didn't want to be the first one to speak, afraid I would do something to make them mad.

"Hey Leah check this out!" Donnie called out from the back his chocolate brown eyes wide and sparkling. Mikey was slightly behind him his eyes also sparkling, but he was more reserved then Donnie. 

"What you got?" I asked turning more in my seat. Donnie was holding up a similar device that he and the others were wearing, only this one went all the way around on the head the visor a lighter blue color then I was used to. 

"It's a visor similar to ours, I made it a bit different for you so you can add bows to the back and look more feminine as much as you want," Mikey said his eyes alight.

I looked at the two shocked, they made this....for me?

I took it from them and placed it on my head, it almost felt like a tiara, Mikey handed me a gauntlet to put on as well.

"Their already connected to each other so you should have the same system as ours. I have a shell pack for each of you, but those are bit harder to put on." Mikey explained becoming a bit nervous about the "shell pack". 

"Why so nervous about the shell packs Mikey?" I asked noticing his net ous shifting.

Mikey took a deep breath, his eyes flicking between Raph and I. "So, the shell packs," he began, his voice slightly shaky but growing stronger as he continued, "they're pretty unique. Each one is specially designed for us, and they work by using magnets that are surgically implanted inside our shells."

My eyes widened, and I glanced at Raph, who was still focused on the road but listening intently.

"The packs are attached to these magnets, making them really flush with our shells. It allows us to carry a lot of gear without it being too noticeable or cumbersome," Mikey explained, his hands moving animatedly as he spoke. "The packs have an alien portal system that's set to a sub-dimension. This means we can store different items like weapons, medical gear, hacking tools, and more."

He paused, gauging their reactions. I looked intrigued but also a bit apprehensive.

"Why the hesitation?" I asked, my voice soft.

Mikey sighed. "The thing is, to make the packs work as intended, we need those magnets inside our shells. It's a surgical procedure, and I get why it might be a bit... intimidating."

I nodded slowly, absorbing the information. "So, how do we access these items?"

Mikey brightened at the question, clearly in his element. "That's where the gauntlets come in. Each gauntlet is synced with our shell packs. By typing in specific codes, we can access the items we need. It's all very efficient and keeps us ready for any situation."

Raph finally spoke, his voice steady and reassuring. "It's a lot to take in, Leah, but it's worth it. These packs have saved our shells more times than I can count."

I looked at the gauntlet on my arm, then back at my brothers. "I trust you guys. If you think this is necessary, then I'm in."

Mikey's face lit up with relief and gratitude. "Great! We'll go over everything in more detail once we're at the Cavern. You'll see how useful these shell packs can be."

Donnie, who had been quietly observing, spoke up. "Actually, I don't have one yet. Mikey was working on mine before we had to help Leah after Jessica found her."

Mikey nodded, his expression turning serious. "Yeah, Donnie's right. I was in the middle of customizing his pack when everything happened. But don't worry, I'll get it finished soon. In the meantime, you'll still have the gauntlet for access to other systems."

Donnie smiled appreciatively. "Thanks, Mikey. I'm looking forward to seeing how it all comes together."

With that, the tension in the RV eased, and I felt a sense of excitement bubbling up. The journey to the Cavern was just beginning, and I was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead with my brothers by my side.

Just as I thought this the RV turned down an alley and Raph pressed several buttons. The wall went down as the RV drove inside. The wall rose up and we were plunged into darkness. The floor lowered and the lab and garage that my brothers worked in was slowly revealed. The light was a dull yellow color, the room was huge with three of the corners covered in gadgets and tools. One corner had two other vehicles, a go-cart like vehicle with a seat way above the ground. Then a motorbike with a wing motif on the side.

I noticed a work bench with several tiny tools and a lots of blueprints strewn about. That looked like Donnie's lab back at the lair. The last corner was obviously Mikey's it was the only one left, but it was meticulously organized and the tools were placed just so on the desk. There were several scorch marks on the floor and the desk, along with several boxes labeled in small writing.

"Welcome to the Cavern Leah, well at least the lab slash garage," Mikey said bouncing out of the RV his hands waving to show the large room in front of us. 

"This place is huge," I said watching Mikey and Raph walk to the stairs that spiraled into the ceiling. Curiously there was no opening in the ceiling. 

I looked to Mikey who was going to a panel on the wall. He scanned his hand and the ceiling opened. I gasped seeing the ceiling move and Mikey and Raph climb the spiral stairs. 

Donnie grabbed my hand and dragged me up as well. The main living area was cozy, the dark colors made it seem the perfect place to doze and spend time with each other. The arch leading into the kitchen provided the most light for the living area, several doors lined around the living area they were all closed. 

Two furry somethings ran through the room the darker one of the two was hopping more then running, but they were so fast it was hard to make out what they were. 

"Oh sorry those two are my pets, the dark brown one is my pet rabbit Chocolate and the other is my pet kitten Marshmallow. They love chasing each other, soon they'll come back with Chocolate chasing Marshmallow." Mikey explained sheepishly. 

"That's cute, Splinter would never let us have pets...." I trailed off realizing what I had said I peaked over to the others. 

"Don't worry you can talk about what you went through, we won't begrudge you to let out the negative feelings you have. You will also be going to therapy like we all do. Don't worry we have several therapists and you can make sure that the one you talk to is the right fit for you." Mikey said smiling brightly. 

"Yeah, we all go through the "wow I'm away from the fuckwad" phase. We won't stop you from saying things," Raph said his gruff voice sounding harsh, but was still friendly. I wanted to know how he got his voice to sound like that. 

The others led me down a hall way, with several doors lining the wall. A pale blue door was where I was led to. Donnie opened the door with a flourish.

"Welcome to your new room. We designed it while you were healing. I really hope your still into the coastal vibe." Donnie said as the room was revealed. It was mostly blue with a gradient of pink to purple to a mix of orange and red. 

On the bed we're three intricately designed bows, one looked like cat ears, with pale and pastel blue color scheme, one was a pink bow that was just several pastel pink diamonds, this one attached to my neck, and the last one was a mix of the colors red, orange, and purple, this one was shaped like a butterfly. 

I tenderly picked up the cat ear shaped bow and found that they were made of a very light weight metal. I turned to the others who were smiling, smirking in Raph's case. Tears sprang into my eyes and I smiled, and reached up to attach the bow to my visor. 

Mikey stepped forward and picked up the other two. 

"So this one," here he showed the pink bladed diamond bow, "is made to come apart, and be throwabke or a shield attached to the arm on your gauntlet." Then he held up the multi colored bow, "this one actually goes onto your gauntlet and is a grappling hook." Then he points to the last bow, the one I'm wearing. "That one is a sonar style bow, and will feed you sounds others can't hear. It is connected to the visor. They are all different places to go, the blue on your visor, the pink on your neck, the multi colored one on your gauntlet." 

He stopped talking looking down and scuffing his toes into the thick carpet of the floor. I reached out and tugged him into my plastron, Mikey squeaked when he was tugged roughly. But he hugged me back and I tucked him close to me. I was afraid if I let go he would disappear again. 

He slipped from my grasp and I reached out for him again, but he smiled and stepped away. 

"Sorry, I can't stay in your arms forever, I'm not going anywhere, except on my date with Leatherhead, none of you are allowed to follow me." He said as he left typing on his gauntlet, his visor down and words speeding across. How did he read that fast?

"Wait you are dating Leatherhead!?" Donnie asked shocked, his chocolate brown eyes wide. I shook my head at that as well, that was a shock, I thought they were just friends.

"Yeah we decided to start dating, we're both poly though and are looking for a third to enter our partner ship. See you guys later."

"Sorry, once Mikey is on a track, he's like a train and there is no stopping or turning him. So I am going to the garage and work on my motorbike, you two do what y'all want except you Leah, stay in the Cavern, you are still healing." Raph said a hard look on me. I nodded and he nodded and turned on his heel and left the room as well. 

"Well those two are completely different from what I thought they would be like," I said tilting my head, I could feel the now on my head shift a bit from the movement. 

"Yeah, but a good different, I like these two. I'm so happy they were able to grow into the people they were meant to." Donnie said a fond smile on his face. 

I nodded agreeing with my little brother. They were good and happy, that's all I could ask for. They are my little brothers just as Donnie was, I needed to get used to having three little brothers again, great I will have to be even more vigilant, I have two more that can and will cause as much trouble as they can. I sighed, knowing that they were going to give me gray scales. Donnie chuckled and ran off bounding towards the stairs that led to the lab. His eyes bright with mirth and pure happiness.
