TBBS2E15-16 FIXITS PART TWO
Part of The Bad Batch Season Two Finale FixIt Series

Echo, Hunter, Wrecker… they were are all suffering.
The grief, the loss, their family shattered, all of it. Too much.
It’s just the three of them. Their future gloomy and hopeless at best.
This is a tale of their inner thoughts, their feelings during this period of mourning.

Notes:

They all deserve better. The clones do.
This is a pretty angsty tale, but with a touch of light at the end.

The inner monologue is in cursive for clarity?

Chapter 1: Wrecker

Chapter Text

‘Just because you may be more childlike than the adult you look like doesn’t mean you cannot understand what is going on around you and be hurt by it like everyone else.’

Wrecker was blaming everyone and himself for that happened.

The mood fowl, mostly angry. And not even the hunger could make him get up and go get some grub. Nothing worked for him. He felt alone, sad with no one to console him. The rage growing inside of him. Because there was nothing he could have done. Nothing he could do. Feeling the frustration of not being able to channel his rage.

There was no one to talk to. Echo was quiet and sitting in the cockpit. Cleary not wanting company. And Hunter? Well, Hunter had curled in on himself. He always did, this Wrecker knew quite well. Neither of them wanting to share their pain. To talk about what had happened.

But Wrecker wanted to. And there was no one to listen. Omega was gone. Tech, was gone. Crosshair… well, that they had not managed to save Crosshair either.

That blasted Saw Gerrera!

It was all his fault! The reason the mission failed. The reason Tech had died. His fault Omega had been taken… well, that was Cid’s fault but yeah… Cid had betrayed them. And for what? A few pieces of credits! Hadn’t they always done what Cid had asked. Well, mostly anyway. But Wrecker knew they had been good for Cid’s business. Tech had said as much. The earnings Cid had gotten from their missions alone… well, those they had managed to pull off. But yeah, Cid had definitely owed them, not the other way around!

Wrecker was soo going to wring the neck of the Trandoshan if he ever laid his eyes on her again!

And why had they left Azi behind?!?

This, their life, was all going to hell in a really large hand basket!

Karking kriffing Sithspit!

Why did she do it?

Sure, we were warned. About Cid. How she was. Never turn you back on her, he’d said. That big guy whatshisname? She cannot be trusted!

But Hunter had trusted Cid would be our ally just the same. She needed us and we her. Hunter had been wrong. We were all in the wrong. About Cid. Cid, was a very bad person!

Why the kark did we go back? For sure Azi was there still, we kinda forgot him for sure and Omega… Poor Omega. She was a mess. More so than Hunt and me.

I’m so tried. Just wanna sleep.

Can’t.
It all hursts. So very much.
Not the injuries… it’s… them.
Their gone.

Hunter isn’t talking still.
His hurting real bad and can’t blame ‘im for it.

Can’t talk to Echo. Just sulking there in the cockpit!
Hasn’t moved since we went to hyper.

No-one to talk to!
My head hursts, so bad!

Omega…
The Kid. I miss her so so much.

She was my friend. We did some fun stuff together.

The Mantell Mix! Our mission tradition!

The games. Is all gone now.

No more Ord Mantell. No Kid. No Crosshair… No… Tech.

Tech…

I wanna hurt something so bad!

Bash some heads! Blow things up!

So angry!

Blasted!

Why did it all happen?!
Why did the mission fail?

We’re supposed to be good at this.
It’s what we do.

We’re the Bad Batch, right?!

So why, did it all go to hell?

There was something else bugging Wrecker too. The fact that perhaps he could have saved Tech, if he had been courageous enough… stepping onto that ledge? Could he have? The lingering doubt still there, ever present in his mind. What if he could have saved… Tech.

A lone tear fell onto Wrecker’s hand. Then another.

Azi had been lurking in the corner. Right next to Wrecker. Powering up, Azi was by Wrecker’s side. Patting him on his back again. Trying to console the crying man the best the little droid could.
