Summary:
Sunny Suzuki and his mother are staying in a hotel near the next town for his mother's job. She tells him to explore this town, Faraway Town, and come back to the hotel when it's dark. She says she hopes he'll have fun with his friends.
Sunny does not remember having any friends in a place called Faraway Town.
