Summary:

Peter is very excited to go to his very first Halloween party only to realize it's really not his scene, hopefully, the charming stranger dressed as Deadpool can make his night better.

Work Text:

Peter didn't always go out on Halloween, as a matter of fact, he almost never did apart from the trick or treating from when he was a child, when he had grown up enough adults made faces at him when he asked them for candy he just stopped going out on that holiday. That didn't mean he didn't have any fun, he would have scary movie marathons with his aunt and uncle eating cheap discounted candy, he was just not a very popular kid so there weren't many parties for him.

But that was in high school, now Peter Parker was in colleague, he was Spider-man, and he had his own apartment so no curfew either, and he was ready for a fresh start on his social life.

One of his friends from his math class had invited him and he tried his best to not look so obviously happy, it was just a simple party at a fraternity’s house with various types of students invited.

Or at least it was supposed to be, Peter approached the house slowly, the music was blaring and the place was full to the brim with people, it wasn't even midnight yet there were already about three people passed out in the grass, quite a sight to behold, he was sure if May saw him going in she would drag him out by the ear.

He may be a little late but he still had to do his normal patrol as Spiderman, crime didn't stop for anyone, and he had to go back to his place to put on his ‘costume’.

He glanced down at it again, it was one of the first models of the Spiderman suit, not as shabby as the very first one and not as obvious as the one he used now, just enough to be recognized as Spiderman but not to turn too many heads or raise suspicious, call him paranoid but enemies could be anywhere, he could never be too careful. He wore it without the mask of course and with his regular sneakers on top to make it look a little more regular. He would not spend a dollar in a costume and he refused to not wear one on his first costume party either.

He took one last breath of fresh air to brave himself to enter and walked through the wooden doors, noticing one of them was off the hinges, he made a beeline for the kitchen where he would hopefully find enough alcohol to catch up with the vibes his university mates had going on and feel at least a little less awkward, that was what alcohol was for after all wasn't it?

Luckily for him, he found a couple of his friends in a circle around the kitchen sink, the guy that invited him was there too. “Oh, hey Peter! I wasn't sure if you would come anymore”- He greeted, making Peter feel a little bad about his lateness with no warning.

“Yeah, sorry about that, I had a little trouble finding something to wear”- He lied making his friends laugh.

“No problem dude, the drinks are over there, help yourself, we were just about to go dance a bit, you are welcome to join us if you feel like it”- Another one of his friends mentioned and they quickly moved away leaving Peter alone, he pondered on the idea of following them to the dance floor but quickly squashed it down, way too sober for that.

So instead he walked to the table with all the bottles and poured himself a little made-up drink of half a glass of juice and half a glass of vodka, strong, sure but the quickest way to get on with it, he made sure to put quite a bit of syrup to drown the strong flavor of the alcohol. Alcohol wasn't made to taste good, it was drunk with a purpose.

Drink in hand he turned around again to find a good spot to consume it, the couch was full of people playing truth or dare, most of the walls had couples kissing or flirting and he didn't even want to try the rooms on the top floor, it would be even more uncomfortable to just stand around were everyone was dancing too. Just when he was starting to feel down again he saw a part of the wall that was completely empty, parted like the red sea, it surrounded a guy, and there were empty spaces at either side of him like an invisible force field kept everyone away.

The guy was tall and muscly, he looked like he lived at the gym and if Peter wasn't sure he could fold him in half if he tried anything funny he would probably hesitate before approaching. His costume was red and made of leather, he wasn't sure he recognized that superhero and he had a lot of knowledge of heroes. He walked to that place and rested his back against the wall, he didn't try to talk as maybe the man was alone on purpose. He stood there for a couple of minutes until the stranger talked to him instead.

“Nice costume”- He complimented looking him up and down, Peter was a little annoyed at the shameless way he checked him out and was about to say something until the guy continued talking- “One of the old editions of the Spidey suit isn't it?”- So the guy was really just checking the costume.

“Uh, yeah, it is”- Peter said feeling a little embarrassed at his assumption- “You know a lot about Spiderman don't you? Most people assumed it was a cheap kind of Spider suit”- Peter had gotten a few comments from other students dressed as Spiderman when he walked to the party, most of them praised it and made jokes with him and two of them made some snobby remarks about him not being a true fan since he wore a costume with the ‘wrong’ design.

“Damn right, I do! I am Spiderman’s number one fan!”- The guy declared puffing his chest and looking proud, a wide difference from the uninterested way he looked before, Peter would even say he looked even bigger now, probably because he was standing straight instead of leaning with his head low.

Peter laughed at his excitement and the happy way he talked about his hero persona, the guy was currently going on a little ramble about him, it was embarrassing but it made him happy to know some people really appreciated him. “What are you dressed as? I can’t recognize the hero at all”- Peter asked when the stranger had finally stopped cursing out the Daily Buggle for their lies against the spider hero.

The guy seemed a little nervous at the question- “Well it ain't exactly a hero, I mean kind of, he is trying I can promise you that”- He explained.

“You sound like you know him”- Peter commented absentmindedly.

“Yeah, I guess I kind of do, he isn't a good guy but he is getting there”- The guy said- “His name is Deadpool, maybe you should look him up another time, wait, no don't do that, he gets a lot of bad press, maybe just take my word”- He sounded like was going to go into a nervous ramble and Peter giggled a little.

“It's okay, sometimes the press and the people aren't kind to heroes, isn't Spiderman a prime example of that?”- He reassured.

“Yeah, you are right”- The guy nodded and fell silent again.

“I’m Peter, by the way, Peter Parker”- He presented himself hoping that the stranger would do the same, he hesitated but eventually spoke.

“Wade Wilson, seems like we are alliteration buddies”- He joked.

The two of them talked for a while, Peter completely forgot about his original mission of getting drunk and going back to his friends, utterly entertained with Wade’s chatter and happy mood. It was when his cup was almost empty and the ice cubs were gone that he remembered. “I want to go get another drink, do you want to come with me?”- Peter asked, just now realizing the guy hadn't been drinking or eating at all.

“Sure”- Wade shrugged- “What are you drinking?”

“Half vodka, half whatever fruit juice there is, and lots of syrup”- He admitted.

“Peter!”- Wade reprimanded and for someone wearing such a thick leather mask he could see the horror clear as day.

“What? I just want to get drunk, I’m not looking for anything fancy”- He defended but Wade ignored him completely.

“Nuh uh, I’m making you a nice drink”- He said gently putting Peter aside and standing in front of all the bottles, he took a couple out and set them at the counter, he also pulled a real glass instead of another red solo cup- “I call this one the Bloody Bootylicious Deadpool Glitter Bomb, of course, there is no edible glitter here but we’ll do with what we have”

Peter rolled his eyes at the name and then rolled them again a little blushed at the showy way Wade threw the bottles in the air and exaggeratedly flexed his arms to open and turn the bottles- “Show off”- He teased.

“I’m trying to impress you baby boy, is it working?”- Wade said flexing his muscles bending both his arms behind his head, and holding a bottle upside down like a baseball.

Peter laughed and made a fake sound of annoyance- “You are so annoying… keep going”- He said looking at Wade up and down who nodded eagerly and changed positions, he felt less shy and more daring than he ever did before, he didn't know if it was because of the alcohol or because of Wade, either way he was high on something.

After Wade was done giving Peter a show of his muscles and strength he finally served him the drink, it was a deep tone of red and it smelled sweet, Peter could see where the glitter was missing. He took a sip looking at Wade at where he guessed his eyes were under the mask and was pleasantly surprised at the flavor.

“Holy shit”- He exclaimed with a smile making Wade cackle, he examined the drink- “It tastes so good, I can barely feel the alcohol, I couldn't believe it had any if I hadn't seen you make it”

“That’s how a good drink is supposed to taste Petey Pie, fuck all of that ‘manly’ bullshit of shitty strong drinks, this is the good shit, sweet and fruity”- Wade said.

“Aren't you going to have a drink too?”- Peter asked when Wade moved to put every bottle back where they were.

“I’m… not really thirsty love”- He said and Peter could tell he was lying- “I haven't seen you have a single drink in all of our talk, isn't your throat dry?”- He inquired more.

“I was having a drink, before you showed up that is, that’s the reason I was alone”- Wade confessed looking down sadly- “I’m not a pretty sight like you, I wouldn't want to scare you away when we have been getting along so well”

“You don't actually think I’m that shallow right?”- Peter asked but Wade didn't answer, he knew the man didn't want to offend him he was just scared, so he decided to offer him something in exchange- “Well that’s a shame, how can I give my number to a guy that won't even share a drink with me?”- He let out a fake sigh of disappointed.

Wade seemed to perk up again at the sentence- “You were going to give me your number?”

“Of course silly, how else will we plan down the details of our date?”- Peter knew it was daring, that maybe Wade didn't want anything more than a night, but he wasn't going to back down now.

“Just a drink”- Wade accepted looking at Peter like he was in a trance, he slowly pulled up the mask to reveal a scared chin, he quickly made himself a simple drink and took a few sips until Peter was satisfied.

“Let’s go back to chatting then”- Peter said and walked back with Wade’s hand in his, his smile looked so much more handsome now that it wasn't covered by the leather, it made Peter greedy for the rest of him.

They spent the rest of the night together talking and drinking, he had passed him his number and even tried to dance with the man, as skilled as Wade was it didn't go as well for him, he had even tried to hang out with his friends a couple of times in drinking games or the dance floor were the music was the loudest but found it boring and tiring, turns out parties were not his thing, but Wade was. By the end, Peter was as drunk as he had wanted to be and Wade called him a taxi and paid for it despite Peter’s insistence, he sent the guy a message of his arrival before flopping face-first in his mattress and immediately falling asleep.

When he finally woke up the next day the first thing he did was research Deadpool, he wanted to surprise Wade with his new knowledge, but unfortunately, there wasn't much for him to find that wasn't the man being slandered or glorified, barely anything factual, the only thing he found was that the here had some kind of ultra-strong regenerative ability and an affinity for guns.

He found a couple of videos and after debating with himself if he should see them due to their gory nature he decided to watch them, the sites were sketchy at best but Peter Parker was anything if not curious. The first thing he realized was how similar the voices of Deadpool and Wade were, the main difference being that Wade spoke softer and happier while Deadpool sounded plain old crazy with a fake exaggerated happy tone.

The second thing he realized was how similar the real costume was to what Wade wore. The only difference was that Wade didn't carry any weapons with him that night and Deadpool was armed to his teeth in every video or photo.

The third thing was how similarly built they both were.

He decided to stop watching or thinking about it, he was probably just freaking himself out, there was no way his Wade was the real Deadpool, absolutely impossible no fucking way.

Getting to his class just an hour later the first thing he did was run to his friend and ask more about Wade, just that his friend had no idea who he was talking about.

“Oh, the Deadpool guy? No idea man, I thought you had invited him, nobody knows him, a lot of other people asked about him, he was kind of scaring people yesterday”- His friend shrugged oblivious to Peter’s panicking mind.

“What”- Was all he could say.

His friend grinned- “Lol, maybe it was the real Deadpool… Hey why are you so pale Peter”- So the real Deadpool then… Fuck it, Wade was nice and attractive and he wasn't picky.

At the other side of town, one Wade Wilson celebrated with chocolate chip pancakes the successful past night.

“I told you Weasel! It wasn’t a waste of time to crash that party! I got free booze, so many high fives, that cutie’s number, and a date!”- He twirled around his apartment kitchen happily holding his phone to his ear and talking with his friend about everything that had happened the night before- “Who cares if I can pay for my own booze, it’s about the principle”
