   Summary

   In near future America, Lavender's spent her entire life dreaming of being Lead Deviser. Emancipated from the foster care system and soon off to the Devising college program at age fourteen, there's just one little problem: she's just been selected for Contrivance, the Devisers' annual televised, apocalyptic death game.
