To just think that Marinette once upon a time in middle school had an obsessive crush on Adrien and thought that he and her would eventually fall deeply in love with each other. That was such a silly thought now considering he is just one of her best friends. Nothing more. Nothing less.
To just think that this whole time Adrien had been Chat Noir. Oh how middle school Marinette would have just died at the thought and responded differently to the flirting that Chat Noir sent her way. It is for the best in many ways that she did not know. At the time if little middle school Marinette knew that Chat Noir was Adrien she probably wouldn't be able to be Ladybug.
To just think that turns out Ladybug was Marinette. Sometimes Marinette wonders what Adrien would have done with that knowledge and vice versa. It would have been an absolute mess. For many reason having it this way was for the absolute best.
To just think that Marinette had a crush on Luka. Again he became one of her closest friends even after they broke up from dating. Having dated Luka was the best thing that could have happened to Marinette. It should be her that Adrien was not the only one for her.
To just think that Luka and Adrien would fall for each other after the history between the same girl was known to both respective parties about their respective issues. Watching them makes Marinette's heart sing with joy because they are so right for each other right now even if they don't work out long term. Man if middle school Marinette just knew that by Sophomore year in high school she would be helping Adrien sneak out and around with Luka of all people? That might just kill her.
To just think that one day Chloe would get overself and start to hang out and become friends with Marinette while trying to be a better person.
To just think that at the valentines day dance they would dance the night away together.
To just think that they would then stumble their way into the girls bathroom which was empty while the party outside was still roaring to fix up their clothes and make up though just made them more of a mess as they could not stop giggling and making jokes.
To just think that at one point they would be just staring at each other grinning ear to ear.
To just think that they would notice how close they were with each other.
To just think that Chloe would lean closer to Marinette.
To just think that they would end up so close they were breathing the same air that left the other person's lungs just seconds ago, both of their minds somehow both in the moment and somewhere completely different.
To just think that Chloe would bring her hands to cup Marinette's cheeks.
To just think that they both would lean in even closer.
To just think that their lips would touch. Warm and with the remiments of lip gloss that was still on. Hearts beating fast.
