Summary
For the third and final installment in the Kelly and Yorkie trilogy, they have returned to the real world, in synthetic bodies, illegally (don’t worry, we’ll come back to this). I wanted this story to more personal and intimate than the last story, which was more epic and action-packed. I also decided that the next step for Yorkie and Kelly’s relationship was to become parents
But who would they adopt? Probably someone like them, queer, traumatized, dead, but resurrected, someone with a troubled home life. Someone who, like Yorkie had experienced parental rejection. Then I realized, they should probably just do for them, what they had just done. Which meant the family would be living under assumed identities. But they would also have jobs, and lives, and co-workers, who would become friends, as the child grows up.
Finally, Nish will do anything to help them, giving them synthetic bodies, she’ll break any law, any moral boundary, and her power will only become greater over time. This leads to some frightening thoughts, where will she stop, where will it end, what if she stops being on their side?
