Chapter Text
Sora, Donald and Goofy followed Poppy to a large bud hanging from a tree with a pink coloration. "What is that?" Goofy asked.
"That's the school!" Poppy replied enthusiastically. "You can hang in there if you want! The kids don't mind!"
Poppy extended her hair and tapped the bud. The flower opened and created a pathway for them to walk on. "Did she use her...hair?" Sora asked, puzzled.
"It looks like she did," Goofy replied.
"You can't just...use your hair!" Donald cried. "It's unatural!"
"Well," Sora replied, "she just did."
Donald opened his mouth in protest but closed it. "Weird," Sora stated. "It's all fuzzy!"
"Fun fact," Poppy said, "our pods are made out of our hair!"
"Why your hair?" Donald asked.
"It works as our protection!" Poppy said. "Our hair, as a friend said, 'is a Troll's greatest weapon.' He also doesn't use mousse or gel. He's so weird!" Poppy giggled.
Poppy led them inside the bud and sat on a leaf pointed upright and stiff. "The kids won't be here for another ten minutes. You can hang for a bit." Poppy pulled a large, fuzzy book out from her hair and began flipping through it, thoughtfully. "Is this a book shelf?" Goofy asked, flying over to a small shelf in the corner.
"Looks like it!" Sora exclaimed. He met with Goofy and pulled the biggest book off of the shelf. "'Troll Encyclopedia.'"
"Looks like it might be handy," Goofy said. "Why don't ya give it a shot, Sora?"
"Alright." Sora flipped open to the first page. The page is extremely thick and fuzzy, and with cut out letters on the title page. "'Trolls Ecyclopedia,'" Sora read aloud. "'The complete guide to all things Troll.' So I guess I'm a Troll then?"
"Seems so," Donald said.
Sora flipped to the next page, skipping the table of contents. "'Troll Anatomy. A Troll stands at six inches tall at their tallest. There are some Trolls who are shorter, as our current, smallest Troll, has a body of one inch and the rest, five inches, hair.' They are so small!" Sora exclaimed.
"They're so cute!" Goofy agreed. Sora flipped the page again. "'Troll hair is the most powerful weapon, and defense, a Troll can have. Since birth, a Troll can freely move their hair, however, the task becomes easier as the Troll develops. Using a Troll's hair too much, however, can cause serious problems as the Troll can get headaches and migranes.'" He flipped the page again.
"'Troll hair acts as an extra limb for the Troll, therefore, causing the hair to be sprained, damaged, or worse, broken. To prevent Troll hair from straining, it is important to go to the Hairnasium often.'"
"'Hairnasium?'" Donald asked. "What the heck is that?"
"Sounds like a gym for the hair," Goofy replied.
Sora flipped the page again. "'A Troll is very colorful, which is known as their 'true colors.' A Troll is born with their colors, however, they can hide their colors if they are unhappy. This is a protective mechanim the Troll automatically does to protect themselves further. There is also another form of their colors, which is their real true colors. This happens when a Rainbow Troll (subcategory) is very emotional, specifically positive emotions, that their colors are the brightest and seem to glow.'"
"You can glow?" Goofy asked.
"Only if I'm a 'Rainbow Troll.' How do you even tell the difference?"
"Keep reading!" Donald urged. Sora flipped the page again. "There are different subcategories of Troll. The Rainbow Troll is the most common type. These Troll usually have the most vivid colors and glow when they are at their happiest. Glowing is extrememly rare but very priviledged. The next subcategory is the Giant Troll. These Trolls are the tallest in their bodies, leaving very little room for their hair. The opposite of this is the Teaspoon Troll. Then there are Fuzzlings, which are small Trolls covered in hair, leaving only their feet visible. Finally, the Gem Trolls. These Trolls have a gem n their bellies.'"
"Guess that means you're a Rainbow Troll?" Goofy asked. Sora just shrugged. "How do I use my hair?"
"It said it comes naturally," Donald said. "Maybe just give it time."
"Welcome, kids!" Poppy cheered from her leaf. Sora jolted and put then book back on the shelf. "We have a few guests today!" She pointed to where the trio is standing. "Sora, Donald and Goofy!" She pointed correctly at each of them.
Sora waved. "Hi!" the kids said. The kids sat down, one inviting the trio to sit closer. Sore moved in, with Donald on his head and Goofy walking in next to him.
"We have a very important class today," Poppy said. "The history of the Trolls."
