Chapter 1: Entry 1

Chapter Text

September 12th, 2018

Dear journal,

Your purpose is to help me remember every memory I can about my brother, Grian. He was stolen from us, September 11th, 2018 by a Watcher that goes by the name ᔑ∷⊣⚍ᓭ, who I will be referring to from this point on by the common tongue spelling, Argus.

Argus has replaced my brother as admin and trapped us all within the borders of the server. They do not interfere much with our day to day lives, but the trickery the Watchers are known for has grown.

They’ve stopped with the obsidian over our chests. Now opting for moving buildings a little to the left, throwing off the symmetry of whole areas.

It’s always three blocks.

Always three.

No more.

No less.

It’s driving me mad!

Not to mention, every animal I own has had its code messed with to make it walk upside down and all the animals who used to have unique names have been renamed to Grumm.

Everytime I try to change their name tags back, it causes a massive glitch and Argus has to come and turn them back.

They get very angry every time I try it. They haven’t laid a hand on me. Something about hitting women and how I should know my place. One of these days I’m going to figure out a way to get rid of them. We’ll see what they think about women being lower than them when I pummel them into the ground.

Another thing about Argus. They claim watchers don’t have gender. That they all refer to themselves as “they.” While I have no problem with this, I find it fascinating. It begs the question of how such a species would reproduce?

That’s all for today. Hopefully this journal isn’t found and confiscated. I don’t exactly want to know what an angry watcher looks like if pranks and general disobedience was enough for them to kidnap my brother. They really hate any mention of Grian. Any time he’s brought up, they tell us that it is best to just “forget about him.”

But I can’t do that. I can’t just forget my own brother.

Can I?
