Chapter Text
"I am now entering the space ship..." Mira said aloud, holding her cellphone in front of her, recording every moment. "Its probably some old military experiment." She corrected as she walked into the mouth of the ship.
"Too high tech to be cold war era," She used her flashlight to scan the wiring that strung along the metal walls. "And it sustained significant damage, must have crashed."
The young woman took a deep breath and rolled her eyes at her own words. "I need to stop narrating."
-
The sound of a faint voice caused Starscream to go ridged. Someone found the Harbinger. Someone was inside the Harbinger.
The former Second in Command of the Decepticons had only a few seconds to decide how he would deal with this intruder.
Mostly unarmed and without a T-Cog, Starscream was a husk of his usual menacing self. With extremely limited options, the seeker decided to use his formidable appearance as his only advantage. T-Cog or not, his claws were still razor sharp and perfect for slashing.
-
Meanwhile, Mira walked timidly through the dark corridors of the ship. She paused at a split in hall. her flashlight pointed upward illuminating the wiring above.
"This looks like a main electrical system, I bet it leads to an operating system." Following vine-like wiring to the left, Mira entered a central room.
Much to her surprise the room was dimly lit with fluorescent blue lights. A strange console sat at the center of the room, it was transparent to a certain degree. The stand the futuristic console sat upon was much too tall for Mira, or any human, to access. The very existence of this place made no sense.
"The hell is this place?"
"A place you are trespassing in." A gravely, intimidating voice answered from beyond the dim lighting.
Spinning on her heels, Mira pointed her flashlight towards the voice. The light revealed a massive, imposing, metal robot, with bright glowing red eyes. He sneered at the intruder, the kind of expression you'd see upon the face of a wicked Hollywood movie killer.
The frightening sight overwhelmed Mira so much she dropped her flashlight and stumbled towards the room entrance, attempting to make a quick escape.
In one stride, Starscream blocked the human's only exit with one of his high heeled pedes. As he gazed menacingly down at the doomed human, said human did a rather peculiar thing:
Mira took several steps back, picked up her flashlight, and threw it at Starscream. The flashlight hit his pelvic area, hitting the metal with a loud pinging sound.
"If you plan on harvesting my brains I'll have you know I'm not going down without a fight!" The small defenseless human warned.
"What?" Starscream raised an eyebrow in complete confusion.
He watched as Mira grabbed onto a rather large piece of scrap metal. She struggled for a moment with its weight before charging forward and striking the object against Starscream's foot.
"Will you cease your futile efforts to attack me?" Starscream scowled. "It'll never work."
"Will you let me leave?" Mira countered, glaring up at her captor.
This was a strange human, she chose to fight instead of cower in fear. Facing an adversary 4x her size, it was almost admirable.
"How did you find this place?" Starscream asked. "Who gave you this location?"
"Google Earth," retorted Mira. "I thought this was just a weird rock formation so I came to investigate."
Starscream let out a low rumble of discontent. He knelt down, bringing himself closer to the tiny human's personal space. This was intentional, he wanted to be overwhelmingly imposing.
"I do not know this...Google you speak of." He growled.
"No shit, you're an alien." Mira took a small step back to allow herself a small amount of space between her and the giant robot.
"Alien? I am a Cybertronian. A Commander of a Seeker squadron and Second in Command of the Decepticons." Starscream boasted proudly. "Not that any of this means anything to you, human. You are simply an inferior life form."
When Starscream looked down towards the human he was shocked to find her gone. Propelling himself back onto his feet, Starscream turned towards the exit, watching the human run for her life. The effort made him chuckle cynically.
"Stupid human," With a few casual steps forward, he caught up to Mira and snatched her off the ground with a servo, his digits locking her within his grasp. "Did you really think running would get you anywhere?"
"It was worth a shot." Mira growled as she attempted to free herself from the robot's grasp.
Holding the fragile human closer to his own face, Starscream was able to better see her details. Light brown shoulder length hair, some kind of symbol or drawing etched on her right wrist, and pale blue eyes. When they made eye contact, something struck Starscream's spark. This human looked angry, but under that she was scared. Her eyes betrayed her attitude and attempts to free herself.
For a brief moment Starscream envisioned his own terror-struck face as Megatron held him at gunpoint. He didn't know if he would survive the next moments, or if his pleading would work to save his spark. He had felt powerless, defeated, terrified.
For the first time, maybe in forever, Starscream had no interest in inflicting the same terror he felt into a powerless being. Instead, he placed Mira down on the stand where the console was erected.
"Explain this Google to me." Starscream demanded.
