missing brunch (to kiss you)

Summary:

Blue is avoiding him, and Ryan's determined to find out why. Even if it means he has to pin Blue against his truck and spill his feelings into the minimal space between them.

Notes:

Day 74 brings some more Bryncest! Enjoys~

Please do NOT copy and paste the fic in your bookmark notes. It is already short and doing that gives away the whole story. It's fine with the long ones but not the drabbles. ~ Thank you BigChanDaddyLover26!

Work Text:

Ryan is in love with his half-brother, and it's becoming a problem.

Everyone knows.

Taylor and Roxie tease him.

His dad ignores it entirely.

His mom keeps sending him cute ideas to ask Blue out with.

Ryan is about to go out of his fucking mind.

Not because he doesn't want to do something, but because Blue is making it hard to gauge if he's interested.

The taller man is avoiding him.

Ryan doesn't even know why.

They'd been hanging out, watching movies at Ryan's place. Hell, they'd fallen asleep on the couch together more than once.

Not anymore though because he's being avoided for some reason.

Which has got to be why he does the stupid thing of pinning Blue against his truck in the parking lot.

They just got done with their shift, and they're supposed to be heading to Sunday brunch at the Hart's home, but Ryan has watched everyone leave, waiting for Blue to come out. He's not taking a chance on being ignored at home too.

"Why're you pinning me here?" asks Blue as he looks down with confused brown eyes.

"Because you've been avoiding me, and I wanna know why," replies Ryan defensively as he glares up at him. "What did I do to make you decide you want nothing to do with me?"

"What? I'm not— I haven't— I wasn't avoiding you, Ryan," Blue sounds like he's trying to convince himself. "Not on purpose. I just needed to get my head on straight about a few things after running into Sam."

"Sam? What does she have to do with anything? I haven't talked to her since the divorce was finalized," Ryan's confusion is palpable.

"Well, she's talked to me," mutters Blue as he tips his head back against the truck, eyes sliding closed. "She thinks we're seeing each other, and she intends to win you back. She regrets the divorce."

"Not gonna happen, so fuck her. She thinks we're dating?" Ryan focuses on the part that makes him giddy.

"Why do you sound happy about people thinking we're dating? I thought you wanted Sam to give your relationship another chance?" Blue sounds beyond confused, and Ryan feels kind of bad about it.

Even if it is adorable.

"Well, I like you a lot, so I wouldn't be opposed to making those thoughts true," explains Ryan with a shrug like he hasn't just taken the biggest chance of his life. "As for Sam, I made it clear that once the divorce was finalized, there were no second chances. If she wants to keep dreaming, that's not on me or you."

For a second, Blue just stares at him, but then he leans down and presses their lips together.

"I like you too," his confession drips into the kiss as Ryan loses himself in it, pressing into Blue, fingers sliding into dark strands and tugging.

Ryan doesn't care that they're definitely going to be late to Sunday Brunch because Blue wants him too.
