May doesn't get it.
Not really.
Like, Harry says it's all good and well, but he doesn't want them together because he doesn't want work to be awkward.
Which, is a dick move.
May really likes Ravi.
They've been texting almost non-stop.
He even gave her the courage to reach out to Ian.
Granted, he seemed a bit colder on the phone than she was expecting.
But Ravi doesn't seem to want to date her either.
"Are you dating someone other than Ravi?" Harry repeats his question.
"You said you didn't want us to date," replies May again.
She's still lost.
He seems mad that they're not dating, and that she might be talking to someone else.
"I was messing around!" exclaims Harry as he throws his arms in the air. "Jesus, May. He knew I was joking? I can't be mad about this! Chim and Buck are just fine, and Chim is married to Maddie! Besides, you two are cute together. So, why are you seeing someone else?!"
"I'm not," replies May harshly.
"Well, Ravi certainly thinks so," huffs Harry as he glares at her, clearly thinking she's lying or hiding something. "I was asking him how his date plans were working, and he told me that you were meeting up with someone else that you seemed interested in."
"Hey, Harry, I'm serious. I went to see someone, yeah, but only to get their perspective on how they knew what they wanted their career goal to be," explains May seriously as she holds out her hands placatingly. She's kind of amused by how worked up he is over this. "The one person I want to see is Ravi, and I didn't think he was interested in seeing things go further because he hasn't asked me anything."
"Tell him then! I swear, if Chim hadn't seen you two looking all chummy and told everyone about it, Ravi would've asked you out already," Harry's irritation settles into a huff as he rolls his eyes. "Call him, May."
"Okay, will do," replies May as she tugs out her phone.
Calling Ravi is easy, but when he answers, she freezes.
"May? Everything okay?"
He sounds tired.
"Were you asleep? I'm so sorry!" replies May nervously, Harry's laughter is just barely smothered by his hand.
"Napping, but it's all good. What's up?" asks Ravi with a sleepy chuckle.
"Well, um, I was wondering if you wanted to get dinner with me tonight? Since you're off?" the offer slips from her lips faster than it really should, but the silence that greets her as her eyes squeezing shut.
"Is it a date?" the question comes so softly over the phone that she wonders if he meant for her to hear it.
"Yeah, if you'd also like it to be," replies May as her eyes flutter open, head tipping forward to stare at her feet.
"I'll drive," Ravi sounds almost breathless.
May just got herself a date with Ravi, again, and she is ecstatic.
