"Merlin!" Arthur said, diplomat voice gone. Small mercies. Instead of yelling, though, so Merlin could at least yell back, he just calmed himself down and tried again. "Are you missing Gaius?"
The question made Merlin's heart pound, harder. It made an ugly laugh sit in his throat and even uglier truths try and claw their way up around it. "Something like that." He manages to say, instead of crying or laughing like a lunatic. Merlin had a right to know his father. Morgana had a right to know herself. Arthur-
